7DS Grand Cross Diamonds Guide: How to Earn and Spend Them

Diamonds are the premium currency in The Seven Deadly Sins: Grand Cross. They buy hero draws at 3 Diamonds each, plus Stamina and dungeon keys. Most arrives free from daily tasks and achievements. The number that governs every Diamond decision is 990, the cost of a guaranteed featured hero. There is a fuller breakdown in 7DS Grand Cross Collaboration Heroes Explained.

That single figure reframes the whole currency. A Diamond is not a coin you spend when something looks appealing; it is one three-hundred-and-thirtieth of a guarantee, and every Diamond spent elsewhere pushes the guarantee further away. Netmarble has built the game so that a patient free-to-play account can reach that guarantee on most banners, but only if the daily income is actually collected and the Item Shop is used with restraint. This guide covers what Diamonds do, exactly what draws cost, where free Diamonds come from on a daily and one-time basis, what else the currency buys, and how to order your spending so the 990 stays reachable. For how the banners themselves behave once you get there, our Grand Cross draw guide to banners, pity bars and Hero Coins explains where that guarantee actually lands.

What are Diamonds in 7DS Grand Cross?

Diamonds are the game's premium currency, used mainly to draw heroes on banners and secondarily to buy convenience items in the Item Shop. They can be purchased with real money in the Purchase Diamonds section of the Shop menu, but they are also handed out constantly through quests, events and achievements.

The important structural point is that the game does not separate a "free" Diamond from a "paid" one in normal use. A Diamond earned from a Knighthood check-in draws on exactly the same banner as a Diamond bought in a bundle, so your income sources do not change your options, only your rate. That is unusual among gacha titles and it works strongly in a free player's favour, because it means the strategy question is never "which Diamonds can I use here" but simply "how many do I have and what is the next guarantee worth".

Diamonds also sit at the top of a wider currency stack rather than replacing it. Gold, Friendship Coins, Silver and Gold Coins, Knighthood Coins and Fight Festival Coins each buy their own goods, and most of the day-to-day upgrade materials you need come from those and not from Diamonds. If the broader progression map is still unclear, our 7DS Grand Cross beginner's guide covering heroes, Diamonds and teams lays out how the layers fit together, and this article assumes that context from here.

How much does a draw actually cost in Diamonds?

A single draw costs 3 Diamonds and the multi-draw option gives you 10 plus 1 bonus draw for 30 Diamonds. Because the eleventh draw is free, singles are strictly worse value, and there is no situation in which spending 3 Diamonds at a time beats banking to 30.

The rates behind those draws are what make the arithmetic matter. SSR heroes sit at a 3.5% base rate, so an average multi-draw returns well under one SSR, and the SSR you do pull is frequently not the featured hero. Left to raw probability alone that would make banner planning nearly impossible, which is why the exchange system exists.

Every draw on an event banner accumulates exchange points, and at 330 draws you can redeem the featured SSR outright at a 100% guarantee. This is a full guarantee rather than a coin flip, so there is no losing a fifty-fifty and starting again. At 3 Diamonds per draw, 330 draws is 990 Diamonds, and that is the worst case rather than the expected case: plenty of accounts hit the featured hero long before the exchange fills, and the accumulated points still carry the value of the pulls that missed.

Treating 990 as your banner unit changes how the daily trickle reads. A Diamond a day from a Knighthood check-in sounds trivial in isolation, but across a two-month gap between banners it is roughly sixty Diamonds, or twenty draws, or six percent of a guarantee earned for tapping one button. The same logic makes casual Item Shop purchases expensive, because a 30-Diamond impulse buy is a full multi-draw removed from the count.

Where do free Diamonds come from every day?

The reliable daily sources are Daily Tasks in the Quests menu, the Fort Solgres SP Dungeon ad bonus, Knighthood check-in, Hawk's Run, and the achievement track attached to whichever weekly Battle Event is live. None of them individually pays much, but they reset every day and they cost almost no Stamina.

Daily Tasks are the anchor. Several of them pay a Diamond directly on completion, with the Free Stage clear and a round of the PvP Vaizel Fight Festival being the two most consistently available. They reset on the server day, and unclaimed rewards do not bank, so a skipped day is simply income lost rather than deferred.

The SP Dungeon adds a second layer through its ad bonus, which triggers up to three times daily on repeated Fort Solgres runs and carries a chance at free Diamonds. Because it fires regardless of whether an SP Dungeon event is active, it is worth clearing all three every day even during quiet periods. Event Dungeon Keys and Gold Dungeon Keys replenish on their own over time and cap out, so spending them here keeps the regeneration running instead of letting it stall at the ceiling. For the detail behind that, see Game Stages Explained Early, Mid and Late Game.

Knighthood membership is the source most new accounts underuse. Checking in daily pays a free Diamond provided at least 20 members of your Knighthood also check in, which means the reward is a property of the guild you joined rather than of your own effort. An inactive Knighthood quietly costs you a Diamond a day, so it is worth leaving one that cannot hit the threshold. The weekly Knighthood Boss is separate and costs no Stamina at all, and while its main payout is materials and ranking rewards, it feeds the Knighthood Coins that keep your Stamina potion supply topped up.

Hawk's Run pays a free Diamond for a first clear of each available area, provided you finish with at least one heart remaining. It is a one-time reward per area rather than a repeating one, but new areas appear as content is added, so it is worth checking whenever the mode is flagged.

Finally, the Vaizel Fight Festival distributes Diamonds and equipment draw boxes weekly according to your rank, and most live events ship a weekly Battle Event whose achievement list contains a free Diamond. Those achievements usually only ask for a number of battles, though occasionally one requires a specific skill type such as a stun, in which case the in-game Hero Filter will find a unit that qualifies faster than scrolling your box.

Which one-time Diamond sources are worth chasing?

Achievements, Affection, Affinity and redemption codes are the four large one-time pools. They pay far more per action than the daily trickle, but they run out, so the sensible approach is to clear them steadily in the background rather than treat them as a renewable source.

Achievements are the biggest of the four and the most neglected, because many of them complete themselves through normal play and simply sit unclaimed. The fight-type achievements are the ones worth doing deliberately: several ask you to win a Boss Battle with a single hero across Normal, Hard and Extreme, and since a related achievement asks for a clear without a single hero dying, a solo attempt with an AoE farming unit can satisfy both at once. Borrowing a friend's hero raises your effective Combat Class without breaking the single-hero condition, which is why that pairing is the standard trick.

Affection and Affinity pay Diamonds for investment you were making anyway. Affection accrues from using heroes, talking to them and giving gifts, while Affinity pays free Diamonds at Level 3 for each hero and unlocks a free costume at Level 5. That costume matters beyond cosmetics because it adds to your overall Combat Class, so Affinity progress compounds into account strength rather than sitting purely as currency. Our guide breaks down Knighthood Guide Bosses, Coins & Perks.

Redemption codes are the fastest of the four and the easiest to miss. Netmarble distributes them through official channels and they are redeemed on the publisher's own coupon website rather than in the client, by entering your Netmarble ID, selecting your server and pasting the code. Codes are usually tied to events, anniversaries and streams, and most expire, so checking around a major update is more productive than checking at random.

Festival periods distort all of the above in the player's favour. During the 7th Anniversary "Perfect 7" update in May 2026, Netmarble ran check-in events paying 300 Diamonds, a pre-registration reward of 77 Diamonds with a UR Hero Selection Ticket, a Diamond Payback event and a daily Lucky Draw granting between 7 and 100 summon tickets. Exact figures change with every festival, but the pattern does not: anniversary and half-anniversary windows pay out several banners' worth of currency, which is why saving into them tends to beat spending ahead of them.

What else can Diamonds buy besides draws?

The Item Shop sells Stamina at 50 for 1 Diamond, Event Dungeon Keys at 3 for 5 Diamonds, Gold Dungeon Keys at 5 for 2 Diamonds, and Fight Festival Entry Tickets at 3 for 1 Diamond. Diamonds also buy rotating costumes in the Sacred Treasure Shop and cosmetic stamp sets.

Those rates deserve a closer look, because they are far cheaper than the draw price and that changes the usual gacha advice. Fifty Stamina for a single Diamond is a third of a single draw, and during a half-stamina farming event that same Diamond buys the equivalent of a hundred normal Stamina. Gold Dungeon Keys at five for two Diamonds are similarly cheap relative to the Gold they unlock. The genuinely poor conversion in this shop is Event Dungeon Keys at three for five Diamonds, which is comfortably the worst ratio on the list and the one to skip unless you are chasing a time-limited progress bar.

Costumes are the other major Diamond sink and the one that most often derails a banner budget. The Sacred Treasure Shop rotates its stock, so a costume you want may not return for months, which creates exactly the urgency the shop is designed to create. Costumes do raise Combat Class through Affinity and cosmetic bonuses, so they are not purely vanity, but a costume bought at 990-Diamond scale is a guaranteed hero not obtained. Accounts with a strong roster can afford them; accounts still short on featured units generally cannot.

One thing worth noting is that Diamonds are not the primary route to most upgrade materials. Awakening and Evolution materials, Enhancement anvils, affection hearts, Stamina potions and Evolution Pendants are all purchasable with Coin Shop currencies, Knighthood Coins or Friendship Coins. If you find yourself reaching for Diamonds to solve a materials shortage, the answer is almost always sitting in one of those shops for a currency you cannot spend on draws anyway.

How should you prioritise spending your Diamonds?

Spend on multi-draws for banners you have actually decided you want, buy Stamina during half-cost farming events, and hold everything else. Skip single draws entirely, skip Event Dungeon Keys, and treat costumes as a purchase for accounts that already have their core roster.

The clean way to run this is to set a target before a banner arrives rather than during it. If you want the featured hero, the budget is 990 Diamonds and you either have it or you save toward it; pulling in with 300 and hoping is the decision that empties accounts, because it spends real currency on the least favourable part of the rate curve and leaves the exchange track abandoned when the banner ends. If you do not want the featured hero, the correct number of Diamonds to spend is zero, and the daily trickle keeps compounding toward the next one.

Stamina is the exception that is worth breaking discipline for, but only under a condition. At 50 Stamina per Diamond it is cheap in absolute terms, and during half-cost farming windows the effective rate doubles, so a handful of Diamonds converted into farming throughput during an event returns more account progress than the same Diamonds converted into a fraction of a draw. Outside those windows the conversion is still fine but rarely urgent, because Stamina potions arrive free from the Friendship Shop, Silver Coin Shop and Knighthood Shop.

The mistake that costs the most is not any single purchase but a failure to collect. Daily Tasks that reset unclaimed, a Knighthood that never reaches 20 check-ins, SP Dungeon ad bonuses left untriggered and Battle Event achievements ignored add up to a meaningful share of a guarantee over a banner cycle, and none of them cost Stamina or money. Collecting reliably for two months is worth more than optimising any individual spend.

What do paid Diamond bundles change?

Paid bundles change the rate at which you reach 990, not what you can do with it. The first Diamond bundle you ever purchase includes a guaranteed SSR ticket, which is the single best-value paid item in the game, and periodic buy-one-get-one events double the Diamonds on each bundle.

The structure of the paid offering is worth understanding even if you never use it. Netmarble sells Diamond bundles across a range of price points in the Purchase Diamonds section, alongside weekly and monthly subscription bundles that drip Diamonds over their duration rather than paying out at once. Bundle contents and prices change with promotions and vary by region, so the specific figures attached to any bundle should be read in-client rather than trusted from a guide.

Two timing rules hold regardless of the numbers. The first-purchase SSR ticket only triggers once per account, so if you intend to spend at all, spending during a BOGO event rather than outside one roughly doubles what that first purchase returns. Second, Diamond Payback events, which return a portion of Diamonds spent during a window, stack with the ordinary festival income, which is why anniversary periods are where paid and free accounts alike get the most out of the currency.

None of this changes the underlying budget. A paid account and a free account face the same 3 Diamonds per draw, the same 3.5% SSR rate and the same 330-draw exchange, and both are working toward the same 990. Spending only moves you along that track faster.
