7DS Grand Cross Demonic Beast Guide: Bosses, Rewards and Teams

Demonic Beast battles in The Seven Deadly Sins: Grand Cross are the game's recurring co-op boss fights, and they exist for one reason: they are the main source of the awakening and enhancement materials your heroes need to grow past their base power. You spend a limited entry currency, you clear a difficulty tier, and you bank materials tied to that specific demon.

That loop sounds simple, and for the first few weeks it is. Then a wall arrives. Your damage stops scaling, the higher tiers start killing your team before the third turn, and the materials you actually need are locked behind demons you cannot reliably beat. This guide is written for both sides of that wall: newcomers who have just unlocked their first demon, and returning players who want a cleaner weekly routine.

👹 What are Demonic Beast battles in 7DS Grand Cross?

Demonic Beasts are repeatable boss encounters fought solo or in co-op with other players. Each demon has its own attribute, its own gimmick, and its own drop table of awakening materials. Entry is gated by a rechargeable key currency rather than stamina, so demons are a separate daily budget from your farming stages.

The important structural point is that demons are material content, not progression content. Clearing a story chapter moves your account forward once. Clearing a demon gives you the raw resources that make every hero you own stronger, permanently. That is why the community treats demon clears as the real daily obligation and treats story as optional catch-up.

Each demon sits on the attribute triangle that governs all combat in the game: Strength beats Speed, Speed beats HP, and HP beats Strength. A demon with a given attribute takes increased damage from the attribute that counters it and deals increased damage to the attribute it counters. This single rule decides more of your demon success than gear quality does, especially in the early tiers.

Demons also scale in tiers. Lower tiers are tuned so a mid-investment team can clear them alone. The highest tiers assume a coordinated party, correct attribute coverage, and heroes with meaningful awakening and gear investment already banked. If you are new to the systems underneath this, the 7DS Grand Cross beginner's guide to heroes, diamonds and teams covers the fundamentals this article builds on.

🔴 Which Demonic Beasts should you prioritise?

Prioritise the demon that drops materials for the heroes you actually use. Netmarble's demon roster has expanded over the years, but the practical rule has not changed: farm the demon feeding your main damage dealer and your main support first, then diversify once those two are finished.

The long-running demons most players meet in order are:

• Red Demon and Gray Demon — the introductory pair. They teach the attribute counter rule and the basic damage check. Their materials feed a wide range of standard heroes, so early clears are never wasted.
• Crimson Demon — the first genuine difficulty step. It punishes teams that cannot sustain damage across multiple turns, which is where players first learn that raw attack stats are not enough.
• Howlex Demon and Bellmoth Demon — mid-to-late demons whose gimmicks reward specific counters rather than general strength. These are the ones that expose a shallow roster.
• Albion and the later raid-style bosses — endgame content with higher party expectations and materials tied to top-end awakening.

Because the roster and the exact drop tables shift with updates, treat any list of "best demon to farm" as a snapshot. Check the in-game demon menu for what each tier currently drops before you commit a week of keys to it. The safest evergreen habit is to open the material requirement screen of the hero you are building, note the demon named there, and farm that.

🔑 How do demon entry costs and daily limits work?

Demon attempts cost a dedicated key currency that regenerates on a timer up to a cap, rather than draining the stamina you spend on story and farming stages. Keys accumulate while you are offline, but they stop at the cap, which means an unopened game is wasted regeneration.

This is the single most common efficiency leak for returning players. Stamina and demon keys are two separate resource clocks, and both overflow if ignored. The practical consequence is that a short login to burn keys is worth more than a long session twice a week, because the cap is what you are fighting, not the clock.

A few habits that reliably pay off:

• Spend keys down early in the day so regeneration has room to work, then top up again in the evening.
• Never save keys for a demon you cannot yet clear. Materials from a tier you can beat are worth more than a theoretical clear of a tier you cannot.
• Watch for events that discount entry costs or multiply drops. Netmarble runs these regularly, and a discount week is where a stalled build suddenly moves.

Stamina management follows the same overflow logic on its own clock, and the 7DS Grand Cross stamina guide to daily tasks, resets and farming lays out how to keep both currencies from capping on the same day.

⚔️ How do you build a team that clears higher demon tiers?

Build around the attribute counter first, a reliable debuff or buff-strip second, and damage third. A correctly countered team with modest gear routinely outperforms an off-attribute team with far better gear, because the counter multiplier applies to every hit for the whole fight.

The build order that survives contact with actual demon tiers looks like this:

1. Attribute check. Bring heroes whose attribute counters the demon. If you cannot field three, field two and accept a slower clear rather than bringing an anti-countered unit that will be deleted.
2. Gimmick answer. Read what the demon actually does. Some stack buffs that must be stripped, some apply debuffs that must be cleansed, some punish a specific card type. A single hero who answers the gimmick often doubles your clear speed.
3. Sustain. Higher tiers are turn-count checks. If the fight runs long, healing or damage reduction is what converts a near-miss into a clear.
4. Damage ceiling. Only once the three above are satisfied does raw damage matter, and by then your rank-3 combos are doing the heavy lifting anyway.

Card management deserves its own note. Demon fights are won on ultimate timing far more than on individual card damage, because ultimate moves ignore much of the mitigation these bosses apply. Holding a rank-2 card to guarantee a rank-3 next turn is usually stronger than dumping everything immediately. Practising that rhythm in easier content first is cheap; practising it on a demon costs keys.

Co-op changes the calculus again. In a full party you can specialise, bringing a pure debuffer or a pure healer that would be dead weight solo. If you are queuing with strangers, the honest advice is to bring the countered attribute and a self-sufficient kit, because you cannot rely on a stranger's composition.

💎 What do demon materials actually unlock?

Demon drops are awakening and enhancement materials. They raise a hero's awakening level, which increases base stats and is a hard prerequisite for pushing a unit to its practical ceiling. No amount of gear substitutes for a missing awakening tier.

This is why demons sit upstream of almost every other progression system. Gear improves a hero you already have. Awakening decides how far that hero can be improved at all. A fully geared hero at low awakening will lose to a moderately geared hero at high awakening in most damage checks, which is the opposite of what newer players assume.

The material economy also interacts with gold, because awakening and enhancement both charge gold on top of the demon drops. Players regularly stockpile demon materials and then stall for weeks because they cannot pay the enhancement cost. Running your gold income alongside your demon routine avoids that dead-end; the 7DS Grand Cross gold farming guide covering the best sources and methods is the companion piece to this one.

🚫 What mistakes stall demon progression the longest?

The most expensive mistakes are spreading materials across too many heroes, ignoring the attribute counter, and letting keys cap. Each one is invisible day to day and compounds over weeks, which is exactly why players hit a wall without being able to name the cause.

Specifically:

• Roster spread. Awakening three heroes halfway leaves you with three heroes who clear nothing. Finish one, then start the next.
• Attribute stubbornness. Bringing your favourite hero into a demon that counters them is the most common cause of "my damage is fine but I still lose".
• Capped keys. Every hour spent at cap is a free run thrown away. This is the leak that quietly costs the most over a month.
• Skipping the gimmick. Players brute-force tiers that are designed to be solved. Reading the demon's skill list once saves dozens of failed runs.
• Ignoring events. Event periods frequently hand out the same materials for less effort, and event currency shops often stock them directly. The 7DS Grand Cross event guide to types, currency and exchange shops explains which shops are worth clearing.

📅 What does a sustainable weekly demon routine look like?

A sustainable routine spends keys twice daily on the highest demon tier you clear reliably, funnels every material into one hero at a time, and reserves event periods for pushing a tier you normally cannot beat. Consistency beats intensity here, because the caps punish absence rather than rewarding marathons.

In practice that means a five-minute morning login to burn accumulated keys, an evening session for the rest, and one longer weekend block for co-op attempts at a tier above your comfort level. The weekend block is where you actually test whether your last week of awakening moved the needle.

Progression on this schedule is not dramatic, and it should not be. Demon materials are a slow-compounding resource: the account you have in three months is decided by how few days you skipped, not by any single heroic session. Players who climb the account ranks fastest are almost always the ones running the least exciting routine, and the 7DS Grand Cross rank up guide to efficient ways to climb covers how that steady input converts into account rank.

❓ Demonic Beast FAQ

Can you clear Demonic Beasts solo?

Yes, at lower and mid tiers, provided your team counters the demon's attribute and answers its gimmick. The highest tiers are tuned around co-op parties, where players can specialise into debuffing, healing or damage instead of covering every role alone.

Do demon keys carry over if you do not use them?

They regenerate up to a cap and stop there. Anything the timer would have generated past the cap is lost, so logging in briefly to spend keys is more valuable than saving them for a single long session later in the week.

Should you farm the hardest demon tier you can barely beat?

Usually no. A tier you clear reliably yields more materials per key than a tier you fail half the time, even if the failed tier drops more per success. Push up only when your clear rate at the current tier is consistent.

Are demon materials ever obtainable outside demon battles?

Frequently, yes. Event exchange shops, login campaigns and anniversary rewards regularly include awakening materials. Those windows are the cheapest way to finish a hero who is one material short, so it is worth checking the shop stock before spending a week of keys.
