7DS Grand Cross Diamond Spending Priority: What to Buy First

Spending diamonds efficiently in The Seven Deadly Sins: Grand Cross is a question of order, not volume: buy permanent capacity first, then draws on the banners that actually move your roster, and treat stamina refills and cosmetics as leftovers. A small stash spent in that order outperforms a large one spent reactively. If that part matters to you, 7DS Grand Cross PvP vs PvE Accounts goes deeper.

Almost every diamond mistake in 7DS Grand Cross comes from the same place. The game hands you a large opening balance from story clears, achievements and attendance rewards, and it simultaneously shows you a summon banner, a costume shop, a stamina refill button and a set of expansion tickets. All four accept the same currency, but only some of them keep paying you back weeks later. This guide sorts those sinks into a priority order, explains the reasoning behind each rung, and shows how to plan a month of diamonds instead of reacting to whatever the game happens to be advertising today.

What are diamonds in 7DS Grand Cross and where do they come from?

Diamonds are the game's premium currency, used for hero draws, stamina refills, storage and slot expansions, costumes and various shop bundles. They arrive from two streams: earned diamonds from story progression, achievements, events, attendance and maintenance compensation, and purchased diamonds from the in-game shop.

The distinction matters more than most new players expect. Netmarble's own shop interface separates the two balances in several regions, and some purchase-only offers can only be bought with the paid stream. For planning purposes, though, treat your total as one pool with a fixed refill rate: a steady account earns a broadly predictable number of diamonds per month from dailies, weekly missions, event clears and the free rewards attached to each update cycle, and that number does not change no matter how impatient you feel about a banner.

Because your income is roughly fixed but the game's offers are not, efficiency is entirely about allocation. Every diamond has an opportunity cost measured in draws you did not take. That framing is what turns "how do I use diamonds efficiently" from a vague question into a set of concrete comparisons, and it runs through every section below.

Why does spending order matter more than spending amount?

Order matters because 7DS Grand Cross has two very different classes of diamond sink: purchases that raise your account's ceiling permanently, and purchases that are consumed the moment you make them. The first class compounds; the second does not.

An inventory or hero-storage expansion is bought once and quietly serves you for the entire life of the account, because it removes a friction that would otherwise cost you resources every week. A stamina refill, by contrast, buys you one farming session and then it is gone. Neither is wrong, but if you buy them in the wrong order you pay for the same convenience repeatedly. The same logic separates a draw on a banner you researched from a draw you took because the animation looked good. Both cost identical diamonds; only one of them was aimed at a hole in your roster. Efficiency here is not frugality, and this guide is not asking you to hoard. It is asking you to spend on the rungs that keep paying, and to be deliberate about the rest.

Which diamond purchases are permanent upgrades?

The permanent tier covers expansions: additional hero storage, gear or equipment inventory space, and any slot or capacity unlock the account keeps forever. These are the highest-return diamond purchases in the game for one reason. They are one-time costs against a problem that otherwise recurs indefinitely.

Gear inventory is the clearest case. 7DS Grand Cross generates a constant stream of equipment from Free Stages, boss fights and events, and gear only becomes valuable after you have sorted, enhanced and combined it. A cramped inventory forces you to dismantle candidates before you have judged them properly, which means you throw away rolls you paid stamina to farm. Buying space early converts into better gear months later, because you keep the options open long enough to actually use them.

Hero storage behaves the same way with a longer tail. Duplicate heroes are not clutter in this game; they feed awakening and grade progression, so a player who dismantles duplicates for space is destroying their own future upgrades. If you are choosing between one more ten-draw and the expansion that lets you keep what you pull, the expansion usually wins, and it keeps winning every time you pull again. For the detail behind that, see Gacha Explained Draw Types, Rates & Duplicates.

Expansions are also the only diamond purchase with no timing risk. Banners rotate and rates shift; storage space does not expire, get power-crept, or lose value when a new hero releases. That stability is exactly what makes them the correct first rung, and it is why experienced accounts clear this tier before they think seriously about summoning.

How should you budget diamonds for banners?

Budget by banner class rather than by mood. 7DS Grand Cross runs ordinary rate-up banners alongside higher-value events such as Festival banners and collaboration banners, and those premium events historically carry better rates, stronger units or exclusive heroes that do not return on a predictable schedule.

The practical rule that follows is simple: your default state should be saving, and a banner has to argue you out of it. A standard rate-up featuring a hero you already have covered is not that argument. A Festival or collaboration banner introducing a unit your roster genuinely lacks usually is, because those heroes are the ones that stay relevant across content types and, in the case of collabs, may not be reliably available again.

Two mechanics should shape the size of your budget. First, duplicates in 7DS Grand Cross are not wasted; they convert into awakening progress and grade materials, which means a committed pull on a hero you actually intend to build has more value than the same number of scattered pulls across three banners. Second, the game's draw systems include pity and conversion currencies that reward concentration rather than sampling. Spreading diamonds thinly across every rate-up is the single most common way accounts end up with a wide roster of half-built heroes and no finished team.

So set a number before the banner opens, decide in advance what you will do if you miss, and check the official announcement for the banner's exact terms before committing. Netmarble publishes banner periods and featured units in the in-game Notice board and its patch notes; rates and mechanics vary between banner types, so read the specific event rather than assuming the last one's rules carry over.

When is spending diamonds on stamina actually efficient?

Stamina refills are worth diamonds only when the stamina is going into something time-limited and high-value: an event shop you can fully clear, a limited exchange currency, or a farming window that closes. Outside those windows, refills are the least efficient common purchase in the game.

The reason is that ordinary farming targets are permanently available. Gear stages, gold stages and material stages will still be there next week, and your stamina bar refills on its own for free. Paying diamonds to do sooner what you would do anyway converts a renewable resource into a non-renewable one at a poor exchange rate.

Event windows invert that logic. When an event shop holds hero fragments, awakening materials or a limited costume and the window is measured in days, the stamina you spend has a deadline attached, and the diamonds you spend are buying something you cannot get later. That is the moment refills earn their cost. Check the refill price in-game before each purchase, because the cost is tiered rather than flat and later refills in a day are meaningfully more expensive than the first.

A useful discipline: decide at the start of an event how much of the shop you intend to clear, work out roughly how much stamina that needs, and buy refills toward that target rather than buying them whenever the bar happens to be empty. That converts refills from an impulse into a planned cost, which is the same shift the expansion tier asked for.

What should you avoid spending diamonds on early?

Early accounts should hold back on costumes bought purely for appearance, on rerolling or refreshing shop stock repeatedly, and on any purchase made to solve a problem that progression will solve for free within a few weeks.

Costumes deserve a nuanced answer rather than a blanket ban, because in 7DS Grand Cross costumes are not purely cosmetic; many carry stat bonuses and can be enhanced. That makes them a legitimate power purchase for a hero at the centre of your account. What they are not is a good early purchase, because a costume is locked to one hero and early rosters change fast. Buy the costume after the hero has proven they are staying in your teams, not before.

The other trap is spending to skip a wall. If a stage is blocking you, the diamond-shaped solutions on offer, more stamina, more draws, a fresh attempt, are usually more expensive than the free fix, which is normally gear enhancement, a team composition change, or a few more days of ordinary progression. Because the wall is almost always a build problem rather than a resource problem, diamonds spent there tend to buy you a second failed attempt rather than a clear.

How do you build a monthly diamond plan?

Build it in three lines: a fixed reserve you never touch, a banner fund that accumulates, and a small flexible allowance for event windows. Sizing them is personal, but the structure is what keeps spending deliberate across a full update cycle rather than a single day.

Start by clearing the permanent tier once. Buy the storage and inventory expansions your account actually needs, treat that as a setup cost, and do not revisit it. From then on, the majority of incoming diamonds should flow into the banner fund by default, held for the Festival or collaboration banner most likely to fill a genuine gap in your roster. Keep the flexible allowance small; its only job is to cover event-shop stamina when a limited window makes refills worthwhile.

Then add one review habit. Once per update cycle, check what you actually spent against what you planned, and look at whether the diamonds produced anything you still use. Most accounts discover the same pattern: the purchases they remember as good were the planned ones, and the ones they regret were made within a few minutes of seeing an offer. If you want the wider context behind those decisions, our 7DS Grand Cross diamonds guide covering how to earn and spend them maps the full income side, while the 7DS Grand Cross beginner's guide to heroes, diamonds and teams puts currency planning next to roster building. If your diamonds are ultimately aimed at raising the account itself, the explanation of 7DS Grand Cross account progression through heroes and gear shows which upgrades the game actually rewards.

The through-line is the one this article opened with. Efficiency in 7DS Grand Cross is an ordering problem: permanent capacity first, concentrated pulls on banners that fill real gaps second, deadline-bound stamina third, and appearance-driven purchases last. Follow that order and a modest monthly income produces a finished team; ignore it and a much larger balance produces a scrapbook.
