eFootball Epic Power Tackle: Chiellini, Bonucci & De Rossi
By Sir Ayup 25 September 2026, 04:00 WIB
eFootball added a new defensive Player Skill on September 24, 2026: Power Tackle. The first Epic pack built around it features three Italy 2016 cards — Giorgio Chiellini, Leonardo Bonucci, and Daniele De Rossi — in a 150-player box.
Power Tackle is designed for standing challenges rather than sliding tackles. Its official description says it makes it easier to win the ball with a standing tackle that uses body contact, while also making it easier to knock the opponent off balance.
That matters more after eFootball v6.0.0. Attacking and defensive Playing Styles are now separated on supported cards, so Power Tackle improves the duel itself; it does not fix poor positioning.
What Power Tackle actually does
Power Tackle does not add a new shot-style command or a separate special button.
It modifies normal standing-tackle situations when the defender gets close enough to use physical contact. In practice, the skill is most relevant when a defender is tight to the ball carrier, especially shoulder-to-shoulder or from a slight side angle.
A clean standing tackle can also disrupt the attacker's balance, reducing the chance that the opponent immediately recovers the loose ball and continues the move.
Power Tackle therefore works best on players who already have:
-
strong Defensive Awareness,
-
high Tackling,
-
enough Physical Contact to win the collision,
-
enough Speed and Acceleration to arrive beside the attacker,
-
a Playing Style that regularly puts them near the duel.
It is an enhancer, not a replacement for those attributes.
GameMarket's eFootball defending guide remains relevant here: good defending still starts with positioning, Match-Up, and choosing the right moment to challenge.
Why v6.0.0 changes how these cards should be judged
Version 6.0.0 made defender comparisons less simple. Cards can now have separate behavior in attacking and defending phases, while Fluid Formation can move the same player into different structures depending on possession.
That is why this pack should not be judged only by Power Tackle.
You also need to ask:
-
Does the card hold or break the defensive line?
-
Does it step out aggressively?
-
Can it recover if the first challenge fails?
-
Does its passing fit your build-up?
-
Does your defensive shape create frequent physical duels?
GameMarket's Fluid Formation guide explains why these two-phase behaviors matter after v6.0.0.
Leonardo Bonucci: Build Up with High Line Master
Bonucci is the most obvious ball-playing profile in the pack.
His card combines Build Up behavior with High Line Master on the defensive side, giving him a clear job: help circulate possession, then prioritize maintaining the defensive line when the ball is lost.
He is also 190 cm and carries both Long-reach Tackle and Power Tackle.
Long-reach Tackle extends his challenge range, while Power Tackle improves the physical standing duel once he gets close enough. Bonucci also has Weighted Pass, Interception, Blocker, Aerial Superiority, Sliding Tackle, Acrobatic Clearance, and Fighting Spirit.
His main limitation is recovery mobility. High Line Master helps his positioning, but an aggressive defensive line can still expose him if an attacker gets cleanly behind.
Build direction for Bonucci
Do not chase passing at the expense of defending.
His card already has enough distribution quality to function as a build-up CB. Prioritize:
-
Defensive Awareness
-
Tackling
-
Defensive Engagement
-
Speed
-
Acceleration
-
Physical Contact
-
Jumping
The exact Progression Point split depends on your manager and boosters, but the goal should be a defender who can stay in line, reach the duel, and let Power Tackle do its work.
Bonucci fits best if you want a Build Up CB who can defend a higher line without constantly stepping out of shape.
Giorgio Chiellini: the aggressive duel profile
Chiellini is the most direct defensive card of the three.
His The Destroyer behavior naturally pushes him toward confrontation, and his skill list is built for that job. Alongside Power Tackle, he has Long-reach Tackle and Aerial Fort, plus Man Marking, Interception, Blocker, Aerial Superiority, Sliding Tackle, Captaincy, and Fighting Spirit.
He also has stronger mobility than you might expect from a physical centre-back.
That makes Power Tackle easier to trigger in the situations where it matters: closing down an attacker, reaching the side of the dribbler, and using contact before the opponent can turn.
The trade-off is the usual Destroyer problem: stepping out creates space behind him. Power Tackle strengthens the challenge, but it does not protect the gap if you mistime it.
Build direction for Chiellini
Chiellini should lean into what the card already does well.
Prioritize:
-
Tackling
-
Defensive Awareness
-
Aggression
-
Speed and Acceleration
-
Physical Contact
-
enough Jumping for aerial reliability
You do not need to turn him into a passing CB.
He makes more sense next to a calmer Build Up or covering defender who can protect the space behind his pressure. In a two-CB pairing, the partner matters almost as much as Chiellini's own stats.
Daniele De Rossi: Power Tackle from DMF
De Rossi is the most different card in the pack because he is primarily a DMF, not a centre-back.
His Anchor Man style keeps him in front of the defense, and that position may create more natural Power Tackle situations than a CB receives.
A holding midfielder constantly deals with attackers receiving between the lines or carrying the ball toward the box, exactly where a physical standing challenge can matter.
De Rossi also has Shadow Hunt, giving him another defensive tool alongside Power Tackle.
His skill list includes One-touch Pass, Weighted Pass, Man Marking, Interception, Blocker, Aerial Superiority, Sliding Tackle, and Acrobatic Clearance.
That makes him more than a pure ball winner.
Build direction for De Rossi
Do not build him exactly like a CB.
A DMF needs enough control and passing to survive under pressure after winning the ball.
Prioritize:
-
Defensive Engagement
-
Tackling
-
Physical Contact
-
Stamina
-
Speed and Acceleration
-
Low Pass
-
Ball Control
De Rossi is 184 cm, so he is not the tallest Anchor Man option. If your midfield regularly has to defend long balls and back-post headers, that is something to account for elsewhere in the team.
His advantage is role compression: he can screen the defense, win physical duels, and still move the ball cleanly after the turnover.
Which profile fits which squad?
The three cards are not interchangeable just because they share Power Tackle.
Bonucci fits squads that want a calmer Build Up CB, especially if your defensive structure relies on maintaining a high line.
Chiellini fits players who want an aggressive centre-back who steps into duels and already have cover behind that aggression.
De Rossi fits teams that want Power Tackle in midfield, where physical standing challenges happen frequently before the attack reaches the centre-backs.
The correct choice depends on the hole in your current squad.
If your CB pairing is already strong but your DMF gets bullied in transitions, De Rossi changes more than adding another defender. If your midfield is settled but you need a line-holding CB, Bonucci has the clearer role. If you want a defender who actively attacks the ball carrier, Chiellini is the most natural fit.
Is Power Tackle enough reason to open the pack?
Power Tackle is useful, but it should not be the only reason you spend Coins.
This is a 150-player box with three Epic cards, so targeting one specific player can be expensive. Before opening it, compare the three featured profiles with what you already own.
A new skill is most valuable when the card carrying it also fits your formation. Separate attacking and defensive behavior means a higher-rated card can still feel worse if its movement does not match your system.
If you do open the box, build around the player's existing identity instead of forcing all three into the same defensive template.
Power Tackle makes physical standing challenges more reliable. The rest of the card still decides whether the defender is actually in the right place to use it.
