7DS Grand Cross: Should You Pull Another Meliodas or Ban?

The Cross: IF Special Selection Draw closes at the 19 August update maintenance, and Netmarble has confirmed that neither [A Twisted World] Another Meliodas nor [A Twisted World] Another Ban will be added to the regular draws afterwards. That gives the decision a hard edge — but the question worth asking isn't whether they're strong. It's whether you'll actually awaken one. In Grand Cross, a single copy of an SSR you never invest in changes very little, while the Diamonds it cost could have gone toward a banner you'd have committed to properly. Here's the case both ways, framed around what your box actually needs.
What you're really deciding
Grand Cross rewards depth over breadth more sharply than most collection RPGs. Taking a unit from five to six stars requires duplicate copies — you cannot level your way there. Every awakening step is another successful pull.
The practical consequence: a compact roster of fully awakened units consistently outperforms a broad collection of unawakened ones. So the real question isn't "is Another Meliodas good," it's "am I willing to chase copies of him, or will he sit at base awakening in my box forever?"
If the honest answer is the latter, the Diamonds are better banked.
The case for pulling
The dual synergy is genuinely unusual. Both heroes are built to synergise with their own races and with The Seven Deadly Sins simultaneously. Most race-locked SSRs slot into one team-building direction; these fit two. That widens where they're usable and makes them less likely to become dead weight when the meta moves.
Another Meliodas fills a defensive niche. His kit reduces the damage he takes based on increases to the enemy's damage dealt, and he weakens enemies while strengthening allies whenever those enemies use Attack Skills. That's a profile built to punish aggression — the harder the opposing side hits, the more his scaling and debuff pressure come online.
Against heavy attackers and in drawn-out fights, that's a real answer. It is not a burst-clear profile, so don't expect him to accelerate your farming.
The window genuinely closes. They may return in some future banner, but there's no scheduled route once 19 August passes. For collectors and for anyone whose box lacks a defensive anchor of this type, that scarcity is the argument.
The case against
Festival banners exist. The long-standing veteran advice in Grand Cross remains correct: save until a banner you'd genuinely regret skipping. Collaboration and festival-tier units tend to reshape what your box can do in a way that a strong-but-standard SSR does not.
One copy rarely moves your ceiling. If you pull once, get lucky, and stop, you own a five-star unit in a game where six-star awakening is where the power sits. That's a common way Diamonds evaporate without anything changing.
Your box may not have the gap. If you already run solid teams around the races these two synergise with, the marginal improvement is smaller than it looks on a banner screen.
Another Ban is the harder call
Netmarble's announcement detailed Another Meliodas's abilities but did not describe Another Ban's to the same degree. He shares the alternate-world framing and the race synergy, and beyond that the public information is thin.
Read his skill descriptions in-game before deciding. Pulling a unit on the strength of the name attached to it is how boxes fill with units nobody uses — and Ban's regular versions being strong tells you nothing about how this one plays.
The Loyalty detail that changes the maths
One mechanical note worth factoring in: after you claim the 600 Loyalty milestone reward once in this draw event, the 600 milestone on the second cycle becomes a bonus reward instead.
That matters if you were planning multiple cycles. The first run to 600 is the efficient one; the second gives you something different. Plan your Diamond commitment around the first cycle rather than assuming the same return repeats.
Tickets also come from three places — the bonus Diamond ticket item, the draw's own Loyalty Points rewards, and the Event Exchange Shop — so check all three before spending Diamonds directly.
Three questions that settle it
- Does my box lack a defensive unit that scales against heavy attackers? If yes, Another Meliodas is a genuine fit rather than a collection addition.
- Am I prepared to chase awakening copies? If no, expect a five-star unit and price the decision accordingly.
- Is there a festival banner I'm saving for? If yes, that plan is almost always the better one. Grand Cross's biggest power jumps come from festival-tier units, not from standard SSRs.
If you answer no, no, yes — skip without hesitation. If you answer yes, yes, no — this is a reasonable pull.

If you skip, you still get plenty
Skipping the draw doesn't mean skipping the event. Running through the same window:
- Cross: IF Check-In — up to 70 Diamonds across 14 days
- Special Missions Part 1 and Part 2 — Artifact Cards, growth materials, Hawk's Secret Boxes
- Cross: IF Event Buff "A Twisted World" — selectable buffs including reduced stamina consumption in Demonic Beast Battles, which multiplies your farming throughput for the event's duration
- Hawk's Dreamland Adventure, the idle track
- Liones Defensive War Season 10, with LR Evolution support
The stamina-reduction buff in particular is worth more to a mid-progression box over a month than a single un-awakened SSR is.
Build the box you actually want
Awakening takes duplicates, and duplicates take banners — which is why a stacked box is measured in festivals rather than weeks.
