Reverse: 1999 Promise of the Water: 6-Star Selector Banner Guide
By Michael Pras 22 August 2026, 02:00 WIB
Reverse: 1999's Promise of the Water banner is now live, running from August 22, 5:00 to September 24, 4:59 (UTC-5). Unlike a standard rate-up banner, this one lets players pick exactly which 6-star character they want boosted odds on, making it one of the more account-friendly banners of the version 3.7 cycle rather than a gamble on a single new unit.
What Is the Promise of the Water Banner?
Promise of the Water is a selector banner, meaning instead of one or two characters getting rate-up, players choose one 6-star from a wider designated group and lock that choice in as their boosted pull. The available pool for this banner covers all 6-star characters from the Standard Pool, known in-game as "Amongst the Lake," up through everything released as of Version 3.7. That makes this less about chasing a single new release and more about filling a specific gap in your existing roster.
As an added incentive, the first Summon x10 attempt on this banner only costs 5 Unilog instead of the usual amount, giving players a cheaper first shot before deciding whether to keep pulling.
How the Selector Works
Once you lock in a character from the eligible group, that arcanist's drop rate is boosted for the duration of the banner, similar to how a normal limited banner works, except you're the one choosing which unit gets that treatment. This is different from a guaranteed pull; boosted odds still involve gacha variance, so pulling isn't a certainty even after selecting your target.
Because the selection covers the full standard 6-star pool up to 3.7, this banner works best as a chance to shore up a weak point in your account rather than a way to get the newest limited character, since new limited units are handled through separate rate-up banners.
Does This Banner Fit Your Roster?
Since the eligible pool is broad, the right pick depends entirely on what your account is missing rather than what's currently considered strongest overall. A few ways to think about it:
- Missing a healer or support? Standard-pool supports tend to stay useful for a long time, since their value doesn't decay the way pure damage carries sometimes do as power creep continues.
- Missing a strong damage dealer for a specific Afflatus type? If your clear times are being held back by one particular damage type, this is a reasonable moment to fill that hole.
- Already have a deep, well-rounded roster? In that case, it's worth prioritizing whichever standard 6-star is currently seeing the most use in high-difficulty content, since a roster with no obvious gaps benefits more from raw power than from filling a role.
There isn't a single "best" pick here, since it depends on your account, not on which character is objectively strongest. Reviewing your own clear records for recent hard content is a more reliable guide than chasing whatever's trending.
Other Version 3.7 Banners Worth Knowing About
Promise of the Water isn't the only banner running during this cycle. Bluepoch has already laid out the schedule for the rest of Version 3.7's limited banners:
- August 25: Fatutu, Necrologist, and Bkornblume
- September 8: Charon, Satsuki, and Yenisei
- September 22: Ramona, Tennant, and Baby Blue
If one of these upcoming limited units is a must-pull for you, it's worth factoring that into how much you spend on the selector banner now, since Promise of the Water and these later banners will be competing for the same pull currency across the same version cycle.
When Does the Banner End?
Promise of the Water runs from August 22, 5:00 to September 24, 4:59 (UTC-5), giving players over a month to decide and pull. That's a longer window than most limited banners, so there's no need to rush a decision, especially if you're still weighing which standard 6-star best fits your account.
