R1999 Fatutu Rerun: Is the Mineral Sustain Worth Your Pulls?
By Rivan Wi 24 August 2026, 20:00 WIB
Fatutu returns to a rate-up banner on 25 August 2026, joined by Necrologist and Bkornblume, and the answer to "should I pull" hinges on one detail most rerun coverage skips: Fatutu is already in the permanent Arcanist summon pool. She joined it back in Version 2.7. This is a rate-up on a character you can pull at any time, not a limited window that closes behind her.
That changes the entire calculation, especially during an anniversary where your Clear Drops are already being pulled in three directions. Here's what her kit actually does, what the rerun does and doesn't confirm, and how to weigh her against everything else competing for your reserve right now.
What's confirmed about the banner
- Start date: 25 August 2026 on Global.
- Rate-up characters: Fatutu, Necrologist and Bkornblume.
- Fatutu originally debuted in Version 2.4 on the banner A Shell on the Waves, which ran 10–24 April 2025 (UTC-5).
- She has been part of the permanent Arcanist Summon Pool since Version 2.7.
What has not been published: the banner's name, its end date, whether discounted multi-pulls apply, and the exact rate-up structure. Treat any specific closing date circulating right now as unverified until it appears in-game or on official channels.
A quick note on regions: this schedule is the Global timeline. Reverse: 1999's CN server runs ahead of Global, so kit discussion and team lists sourced from CN coverage may reference an environment Global hasn't reached. Banner scheduling in particular has never been synchronised between the two.
Who Fatutu is
For newer Timekeepers: Afflatus is Reverse: 1999's elemental type system, Insight is the levelling track that unlocks a character's passive tiers, a Psychube is an equippable item that boosts a character, and Moxie is the resource spent on Ultimates.
Fatutu is a 6-star Mineral Afflatus Arcanist who deals Mental damage and functions as a sustain — a healer and defensive support rather than a damage carry. Her kit revolves around Spirit Shells, a resource she applies to enemies and then retrieves.
The mechanical pieces that matter:
Unmendable Cracks (Incantation 1) deals damage and applies Spirit Shells to a single enemy. Critically, it also dispels debuffs — one random Stats Down, Neg Status and Control effect from the entire team.
Her second Incantation redistributes health evenly across all allies rather than healing a single target, and grants Shared Shells and Shared Fate, which spread the damage one ally takes across the whole team.
Seashell Necklace (Inheritance) is her passive. At Insight I she gains Spirit Shells and a chance at Moxie when applying them, and restores health to all allies when retrieving them. When an enemy carrying Spirit Shells is defeated, she retrieves all of them. Insight II adds a flat 5% attack buff on entering battle.
She also applies damage-taken and critical-damage-taken debuffs to enemies, which is the part that makes her more than a healer — she raises your team's damage while keeping it alive.
That combination is genuinely unusual. Most sustains in Reverse: 1999 pay for their survivability with a dead slot. Fatutu's debuffs mean the slot contributes offensively too, and the even-redistribution healing plus damage-sharing is specifically strong against enemies that focus single targets.
The Insight III problem
Here's the honest caveat, and it applies to the pull decision as much as the build.
Insight III is where Fatutu becomes what people describe her as. At that tier she enters battle with four additional Spirit Shells and automatically casts a rank 1 Unmendable Cracks on the enemy holding the most Spirit Shells once she has applied or retrieved seven of them. Below Insight III, the engine that makes her kit self-sustaining simply isn't running.
Insight III is expensive in materials and time. If you pull her and cannot invest in her properly for weeks, you have a mid-tier healer occupying a roster slot, not the sustain the tier lists are describing. Factor the investment cost into the pull decision rather than treating acquisition as the finish line.
The free 6-star doesn't cover this
Version 3.7 hands every Timekeeper a free 6-star Coppélia, and she's also Mineral Afflatus — which makes it tempting to assume your Mineral slot is handled.
It isn't. Coppélia is a Support and Sub-DPS built around the Conduit archetype: she generates Mineral Energy, buffs team Critical stats, and deals Reality damage. She does not heal, does not cleanse, and does not mitigate. Her full value is also locked behind having other Conduit units to play alongside her, which makes her a narrow pick on rosters that haven't invested in that archetype.
Same Afflatus, entirely different job. If your account lacks a sustain, the free unit hasn't solved that.
Where your Clear Drops are already going
The 25 August banner does not arrive in a vacuum. Version 3.7 runs to 24 September, and two other things are competing for the same reserve:
- Promise of the Water, the anniversary selector banner, runs 22 August to 24 September. It lets you choose one designated 6-star for rate-up from the standard pool.
- Ms. Stranger's banner runs 3 September to 17 September in Phase 2.
Pity in Reverse: 1999 reaches hard pity at 70 pulls, with soft pity beginning around 60. Event banner pity is calculated independently and does not carry over between banners. Spreading a limited reserve across three banners is the classic way to reach pity on none of them.
The anniversary's generosity helps — roughly 67 free summons flow through the patch — but "generous" and "unlimited" aren't the same thing.
Worth noting: because the selector banner lets you target a specific standard-pool 6-star, and Fatutu is in that pool, the selector is a legitimate alternative route to her. If she's the gap you're filling and you'd rather have a guarantee than a rate-up, that's a decision worth making deliberately rather than defaulting to the rerun.
What isn't known yet
- The banner's name and end date. Not published.
- Whether discounted multi-pulls apply, as some rerun banner types have offered.
- The precise rate-up weighting between Fatutu, Necrologist and Bkornblume.
- Whether any accompanying login rewards or free pulls attach to this banner specifically.
The verdict
Pull if your account genuinely lacks a sustain, you're prepared to take her to Insight III, and you have reserve left after the anniversary headliners. Her cleanse and damage-sharing cover situations raw healing doesn't, and support units age considerably better than carries in a game with steady damage inflation.
Skip if your reserve is thin after Phase 1, or if you already run a functioning sustain. She isn't going anywhere — the permanent pool means she'll appear on future rate-ups and remains selectable through banners like Promise of the Water. A limited character's window closes; hers doesn't.
Reconsider entirely if you were planning to pull her at Portrait 0 and leave her there. An uninvested Fatutu underperforms a well-built 5-star sustain, and the anniversary materials are better spent finishing a character you already field.
The scarcity pressure that makes rerun banners feel urgent is largely absent here. That's not a reason to avoid her — it's a reason to pull with a clear head about whether she fills a real gap.
Building the roster behind her
A sustain only earns her slot on an account with the Psychubes, Insight materials and supporting Arcanists to field her properly — and that groundwork is the slow half of Reverse: 1999.
