Where to Find Wavebinder and Farm Mitya’s Ascension Material

Wavebinder is the new world boss in Genshin Impact Version 7.2, and it is the only source of the material Mitya needs to ascend. Hidden beneath the glaciers of Snezhnaya, this anchor-swinging boss drinks to power himself up mid-fight, so the way you deal with that moment decides how hard the battle feels. Where to Find Wavebinder
Wavebinder is found beneath the glaciers west of Port Belovodye in Snezhnaya.
- Start from Port Belovodye and head west
- Look for a large crack between the glaciers
- Jump down into the crack to reach a wide open area under the ice
- Wavebinder waits there. Activate the nearby Teleport Waypoint so you can return quickly for future runs
What Wavebinder Drops
Wavebinder's key drop is the Shattered Stability Anchor, a new 4-star character ascension material added in Version 7.2.
- Who uses it: right now, Mitya is the only character who needs it
- How many you need: 46 in total to take Mitya from level 40 to 90
- 2 for level 40 to 50
- 4 for level 50 to 60
- 8 for level 60 to 70
- 12 for level 70 to 80
- 20 for level 80 to 90

How Wavebinder Fights
Wavebinder swings a giant anchor in close range, but his most important mechanic is his drink.
The Drinking Phase
During the fight, Wavebinder stops to drink from a barrel to power himself up. He also builds up Courage, and once it is full he enters a stronger Valiant state. Attacking him while he is drinking interrupts the power-up, so save some damage for that moment instead of using everything at the start.
Electro Stuns
After some of his jumping slam attacks with the anchor, Wavebinder can be electrocuted by Electro damage. This stuns him for a short time and opens a window to deal heavy damage.
Stellar-Conduct Weakens His Power-Up
Stellar-Conduct is especially strong here. According to the in-game tip, Electro DMG, including the Electro damage from Stellar reactions, reduces his accumulated Courage or makes him leave the Valiant state sooner. His Anchor Attacks Hit Hard
His melee anchor swings deal heavy damage. Dodge them, keep some distance, or bring a shield if your team struggles to stay alive.
Best Teams for Wavebinder
Electro and Stellar-Conduct teams make this boss much easier. Recommended lineups reported by Game8 include:
- Mitya, Yae Miko, Odette, Valeriy: the most natural pick, since the boss drops Mitya's own material
- Sandrone, Odette, Yae Miko, Alyosha: a strong Stellar-Conduct alternative if you do not have Mitya yet
- Varesa, Iansan, Chevreuse, Mavuika: a high-damage option for players without Stellar-Conduct units
Free-to-Play Team
- Traveler (Cryo), Beidou, Alyosha, Diona

Tips for Farming Wavebinder
- Start early if you pulled Mitya. 46 Shattered Stability Anchors is a lot, and you can only farm them from this boss
- Use the nearby waypoint to save time between runs
- Keep your burst ready for the drink. Interrupting his power-up is the single biggest factor in a fast clear
- Bring Electro even outside Stellar-Conduct teams. The stun window is useful for any team
