Genshin 7.2 Banners: Is Starsealed Edict Worth It for Mitya?
By Sir Ayup
The Starsealed Edict is the headline of the Genshin Impact 7.2 weapon banner, and it is built almost entirely around Elemental Reactions. The new weapon arrives on the Epitome Invocation banner after the update on November 4, with 88.2% CRIT DMG as its substat and a passive that can stack up to 120 Elemental Mastery. At gamemarket.gg, we went through HoYoverse's official weapon overview to explain its stats, how the passive works, who it suits and whether you should pull for it or save your Primogems.
When the Starsealed Edict Banner Starts
HoYoverse confirms that the Epitome Invocation wish opens after the Version 7.2 update on November 4. During that period, the Starsealed Edict (Catalyst) receives a large drop rate boost.
Phase 1 of Version 7.2 is expected to run until November 24, alongside the character banners for Mitya, Valeriy and the Furina rerun.
The Starsealed Edict is an event-exclusive 5★ weapon, so it will not appear on the standard Wanderlust Invocation banner.
Starsealed Edict Stats
Starsealed Edict Stats
At Level 90 and Refinement Rank 1:
- Rarity: 5★
- Type: Catalyst
- Base ATK: 542
- Substat: CRIT DMG 88.2%
Passive: Dawnstar's Flowing Trail
The official passive works in three layers:
- Always active: CRIT DMG increased by 24%
- Crystal Compounding: using an Elemental Skill increases the wielder's Elemental Mastery by 48 for 20 seconds
- Law of Combustion: while Crystal Compounding is active, each Elemental Reaction triggered by a nearby party member grants a stack worth 24 Elemental Mastery, up to 3 stacks. The stacks last until Crystal Compounding ends or the wielder uses their Skill again
On top of that, under Radiance: Stellar-Conduct, each Law of Combustion stack also increases the CRIT DMG of the wielder's Stellar-Conduct reactions by 12%.
HoYoverse also notes that this effect can be triggered even when the wielder is off-field, which makes the weapon useful for both main damage dealers and off-field units.
Full Stack Values at R1
Adding up the official numbers, a fully stacked Starsealed Edict gives:
- 112.2% CRIT DMG from the substat and passive combined
- 120 Elemental Mastery from Crystal Compounding and three stacks
- 148.2% CRIT DMG on Stellar-Conduct reactions with all three stacks
Ascension Materials
The weapon uses The Frost Emperor's Revival, the new Snowborn Heartshard and Ethereal Glimmershard, along with higher-tier versions of the same materials as you ascend.
Who Is the Starsealed Edict For?
Its design points clearly toward Mitya
HoYoverse has not officially named the weapon as anyone's signature, but its design points clearly toward Mitya, the new 5★ Electro Catalyst user arriving on the same day.
Mitya's kit is built around Stellar-Conduct reactions and Elemental Mastery, and he can play both on-field and off-field. The Starsealed Edict boosts exactly those things, and its off-field trigger means it still works if you use him as a support damage dealer. Our Mitya kit and materials guide explains how his Stellar-Conduct mechanic works.
Because the always-active CRIT DMG and the Elemental Mastery bonus apply to any reaction, the weapon can also suit other catalyst users who trigger reactions often. The Stellar-Conduct bonus, however, is where most of its extra value comes from.
What We Still Do Not Know
- the second featured 5★ weapon on the banner, since Epitome Invocation usually features two
- the featured 4★ weapons
- whether HoYoverse will officially label the Starsealed Edict as Mitya's signature
These details usually appear in the official banner notice when the update goes live.
Should You Pull for the Starsealed Edict?
Pull if you already plan to get Mitya, you have enough Primogems to secure him first and you want his strongest possible build. The CRIT DMG substat and the Stellar-Conduct bonus make a big difference for a reaction-focused unit.
Wait if you are still trying to win your 50/50 on Mitya's banner. The weapon is far less useful without him, so getting the character first is the safer order.
Skip if you do not plan to build a Stellar-Conduct team. Outside of that setup, you are paying a 5★ weapon price for bonuses that mainly benefit Stellar-Conduct reactions.
If you are budgeting Primogems for Version 7.2, our 7.2 event calendar lists how many you can earn this patch, and our comparison of Welkin Moon and the Battle Pass helps if you are thinking about spending. If you are looking at the other new Electro unit instead, our Valeriy guide covers his role as a shielder and buffer.
Secure Mitya first, then decide on the Starsealed Edict before the banner ends on November 24.
