Epic Seven Mei Lin Pull or Save? Fire Synergy Thief October Analysis
By Sir Ayup 11 October 2026, 10:00 WIB
Epic Seven Mei Lin is now live through a Limited Summon, and the first question for most players is simple: pull or save? At gamemarket.gg, we went through the official October 8 update notes to break down what makes Mei Lin different, which accounts get the most from her, why her banner partner Flame Dragon's Jewel matters as much as she does and when saving is the smarter call. Her banner runs until October 29, 2026, at 02:59 UTC, so there is time to decide, but not unlimited time.
Mei Lin at a Glance

- Rarity: 5★
- Element and class: Fire Thief
- Signature skill: Rising Dragon Spire, which grows stronger every time a Fire ally uses a skill
- How to get her: "Mei Lin & Flame Dragon's Jewel Limited Drop Rate Up"
- Banner period: October 8, after maintenance, to October 29, 02:59 UTC
The official introduction calls her the last disciple of the Aromata, who fights for the value of love. She arrives as part of the wider collaboration season, which our guide to the current collaboration and its free hero covers in more detail.
What Makes Mei Lin Different
Most damage dealers in Epic Seven are judged on how hard they hit alone. Mei Lin is built around her team.
Her key skill, Rising Dragon Spire, is enhanced each time a Fire elemental ally uses a skill. That means:
- Her damage scales with how many Fire allies you run and how often they act.
- She rewards Fire-focused teams far more than mixed-element lineups.
- Turn order matters. Letting Fire allies act before Mei Lin unleashes Rising Dragon Spire gives it more time to build up.
That design makes her one of the clearest "team-defining" heroes in recent months. In the right lineup she can be a centrepiece. In the wrong one, her main mechanic barely activates.
The full skill numbers and multipliers are shown in the official Hero Introduction and in-game. Before you commit, open her Try event to see how quickly Rising Dragon Spire grows with your own Fire heroes.
Flame Dragon's Jewel: The Other Half of the Banner

The banner also features a new 5★ Limited Artifact, Flame Dragon's Jewel, which is exclusive to Thieves. Its effect:
- Increases Attack
- Reduces the caster's debuff duration by 1 turn after being attacked
That second effect is what makes it interesting. Debuffs are one of the main ways opponents shut down damage dealers, and shaving a turn off them keeps a Thief active for longer.
Flame Dragon's Jewel can only be obtained from this Drop Rate Up. That matters for your decision: if you play several Thieves, the artifact alone can justify part of your budget, even if Mei Lin is not your main target.
How Strong Is Mei Lin in PvP?
One detail from the update notes tells you a lot about how the developers see her. Both Mei Lin and Flame Dragon's Jewel are set as Global Bans in the World Arena E7WC 2026 Group Stage, which begins on October 10.
New heroes are often banned from competitive play while the meta adjusts, so this is not proof that she is overpowered. It does mean she will not appear in the top competitive matches this month, so early PvP results will come from regular World Arena and Arena rather than tournament play. If you follow competitive seasons, our breakdown of the World Arena Fall 2026 season explains the current format.
Who Should Pull for Mei Lin

Mei Lin is a strong pull for these players:
- Accounts with a deep Fire roster. If you already field two or three good Fire heroes, Mei Lin plugs straight into that team and her main mechanic works from day one.
- Players who run several Thieves. Flame Dragon's Jewel is limited and Thief-exclusive, so this banner gives value beyond Mei Lin herself.
- Players looking for a new team identity. If your lineup feels stale, a Fire team built around Mei Lin offers a different way to play.
- Collectors of limited heroes. Limited Summons do not stay forever, and there is no confirmed rerun date.
Who Should Save
Saving makes more sense in these cases:
- Your roster has few Fire heroes. Without Fire allies, Rising Dragon Spire loses most of its value, and building a new team from scratch costs far more than one banner.
- You are close to pity on a banner you care about more. Splitting resources across two limited banners is the fastest way to end up with neither.
- You mainly play PvE content that does not suit Fire teams. Check which elements your regular PvE content favours before committing.
- Your gear is not ready. A new damage dealer needs good equipment to perform. If your gear is still behind, our Epic Seven gear farming guide is a better use of your time first.
Free Resources That Help
Before you spend, collect the free rewards running alongside her banner:
- Coupon EPICWITHCZN: gives 15 Covenant Bookmarks and 300,000 Gold, redeemable once per account until October 29, the same day Mei Lin's banner ends.
- Try & Preview events: both run until October 29 and give 1 Leif each.
- Collaboration check-in rewards: available until October 29, including growth materials.
The Try event is the best free tool here. It shows how Mei Lin performs before you spend anything.
Other Content in the October 8 Update
Mei Lin arrived alongside several other additions worth planning around:
- Seasonal Battle Content: Hall of Trials and other battle modes run until October 29, with Shadow Tokens for the Shadow Company shop. Brawl also gains a Special Shop.
- Ancient Inheritance Season 18: a Guild exploration season in the Ancient Dragon's Tomb, starting on October 11 or 12 depending on server and lasting two weeks. Guilds need 16 or more members, and players need Account Rank 40.
The update notes also mention that no separate update notices will be posted for the third and fourth weeks of October, so this update covers the rest of the month.
Verdict: Pull or Save?
Pull if you already run Fire heroes, use several Thieves or want a limited hero that changes how your team plays. Mei Lin is built for Fire synergy, and Flame Dragon's Jewel adds real value for any Thief.
Save if your roster has few Fire heroes, your gear is behind or you are saving for a banner you want more. Her strength depends heavily on her teammates, so she is not a universal upgrade.
Whichever you choose, test her in the Try event first and redeem the coupon before October 29.
If you want a stronger roster for the current season, you can explore trusted Epic Seven Accounts, keep your Seasonal Battle Content and daily progress on track with reliable Epic Seven Hourly Services, or climb Arena and World Arena faster through dependable Epic Seven Boosting.
