Extensive Patrol: Triple Bounty runs from 12 August at 04:00 to 17 August at 03:59 (server time) — five days in which clearing any Area Patrol stage pays triple rewards. For most accounts this is the single most valuable event of the month, because Drive Discs are the bottleneck that decides how far your Agents actually go, and Area Patrol is where they come from. On top of the tripled drops, two challenges receive a buff each day, resetting at 04:00 server time. The window is short and the preparation matters: stamina you haven't banked before the 12th is stamina spent at single rate. Here's how to get the most out of it.

The details

  • Duration: 12 August 04:00 – 17 August 03:59 (server time)
  • Requirements: complete the Inter-Knot Reputation Rank-Up Mission "Path of the Proxy I", reach Inter-Knot Level 21, and unlock Area Patrol
  • Mechanic: clear any Area Patrol stage for triple rewards
  • Daily buffs: two challenges are buffed each day, reset at 04:00 server time

The requirements are low enough that most active accounts already clear them — but if you're newer, check them before the 12th rather than discovering the gap on the day.

Why this is the month's best event for most accounts

Zenless Zone Zero's real progression wall isn't pulling Agents. It's Drive Discs — specifically the substats on them.

An S-Rank Agent at level 60 with mediocre discs underperforms a well-geared A-Rank in practical content. Every player who has stalled in Deadly Assault or Shiyu Defense has stalled on disc quality far more often than on roster gaps. And disc farming is the slowest, least rewarding grind in the game because substats are random.

Tripling those drops for five days means one day of stamina yields three days of farming. There is no other event this month that improves your account at that rate.

Bank your battery before the 12th

The most common way players waste a triple-drop window is arriving at it with an empty battery.

  • Let your Battery Charge sit at cap going into the 12th rather than spending it on ordinary farming this week.
  • Save your Ether Batteries for use during the event, not before it. A refill spent on the 10th buys single rewards; the same refill on the 13th buys triple.
  • Plan your five days. Five days at capped daily stamina plus refills is a substantial total, and knowing which set you're targeting before you start avoids spreading the yield across three domains and finishing none.

Farm the set you actually need

Triple drops tempt players into farming whatever's newest. Resist that.

Target the set your current team is missing, not the set attached to the Agent you might pull later. Discs you can equip today improve clears today; discs held for a hypothetical future Agent do nothing.

If you pulled Remielle Dan on the current banner, Feathered Fate is her best-in-slot set and the obvious target — its four-piece effect persists while she's off-field, which is where she spends most of a fight. Our Remielle build guide covers her full stat priority, and the Velina build guide covers her strongest partner.

If your account is broader than one Agent, the honest advice is to farm for the team you field in endgame content rather than the one that looks best on paper.

Use the daily buffed challenges

Two challenges are buffed each day, and the buffs reset at 04:00 server time.

That means checking the event screen daily is worth doing, not optional. A buffed challenge you happen to need is free extra value; one you ignore because you didn't look is value left behind. Since the rotation changes every day, a set you skipped on the 12th may be buffed on the 14th.

What else is running this month

Version 3.1, The Long Goodbye, launched on 29 July and runs 42 days to 9 September as the game's second-anniversary update. Alongside Triple Bounty:

  • Deadly Assault rotations continue through the month, and Version 3.1 added Adversity Mode as its hard difficulty. Our Deadly Assault guide covers the unlock condition and the escalating-enemy mechanic.
  • Remielle Dan's banner runs to 8 September, with Sigrid reported to follow later in the month.
  • Anniversary rewards are being distributed across the version, including Polychrome and Signal Search bundles.

For a sense of how much pull currency you can realistically bank across the version, our F2P Polychrome guide breaks down the income sources.

Priority for the five days

  1. Arrive on the 12th with a full battery and your Ether Batteries unspent.
  2. Decide your target set before you start, based on the team you actually field.
  3. Check the two buffed challenges daily — the rotation changes at 04:00 server time.
  4. Spend refills during the window, not outside it.
  5. Don't chase perfect substats. Triple drops give you volume; volume is how substats eventually cooperate. Farm broadly, upgrade selectively.

Five days is short enough that a missed day costs a meaningful share of the total. If you can only commit properly to part of the week, front-load it.
