ZZZ 3.3 Mech Combat Preview: How It Works and What to Expect
By Sir Ayup
ZZZ 3.3 mech combat is one of the biggest gameplay additions coming with Version 3.3 "Journey to the Sky" on October 21, 2026. For the first time, Proxies will climb into High Ambitions Corp. combat mechs and fight with a completely different moveset, switching between melee and ranged modes on the fly. At gamemarket.gg, we gathered everything confirmed about mech combat so far, how it works and where you will use it when the update goes live.
ZZZ 3.3 Mech Combat at a Glance

- Version: 3.3 "Journey to the Sky"
- Release date: October 21, 2026
- Mechs: High Ambitions Corp. combat mechs
- Where it appears: Version 3.3 Main Story
- Combat modes: melee and ranged, freely swappable
- Special move: a powerful laser attack after an EX Special Attack or a dodge
- Future plans: mech gameplay will continue in future versions
Where the Mechs Come From

The mechs are tied directly to the Version 3.3 story. Lindverne uses the power of her Karma Core, "Genesis Reconstruction," to create the High Ambitions Corp. combat mechs that Proxies pilot during the Main Story.
That story connection matters. Instead of being a one-off event mode, mech combat is part of the main narrative, so every player progressing through the 3.3 story will get hands-on time with it.
How Mech Combat Works
Two combat modes

Each mech has a melee mode and a ranged mode, and you can swap between them freely during a fight. That gives you a simple rhythm to work with: close the gap and hit hard in melee, or back off and keep the pressure on from range.
The laser attack

After landing an EX Special Attack or performing a dodge, the mech can unleash a stronger laser attack. This rewards the same habits regular ZZZ combat already teaches, since well-timed dodges and EX Specials set up your biggest damage.
Using the environment

Mech combat is not only about fighting. You can shoot explosives and launch objects with heavy punches, and both actions help in combat and puzzles. Expect some story sections to ask you to clear the way with the mech rather than simply defeat every enemy.
What We Don't Know Yet
A few details have not been shared before launch:
- The mech's name and any upgrade system
- The full control scheme on controller, keyboard and mobile
- Mech-specific rewards or achievements
- Whether mech stages can be replayed outside the Main Story
We will know more once Version 3.3 goes live on October 21.
What Else Arrives in Version 3.3

Mech combat lands alongside a packed update:
- Phoenix, an S-Rank Fire Anomaly Agent, in the first half banner
- Severian, an S-Rank Wind Attack Agent, in the second half banner
- Velina and Norma reruns
- Events including Night of Supernatural Tricks, Cyber Miracle Healer, on Duty!, Trails of the Hobbling Crow and Repair! Drifting Art
- 10 Encrypted Master Tapes and 10 Boopons from check-in events
Players still torn between Phoenix and Severian will have the mech story running alongside both banners, while the Halloween events, led by the Trickmobile chaos of Spooky Funhouse Tales, offer a lighter break between story chapters.
How to Prepare for Mech Combat
- Clear your remaining 3.2 story so you can jump straight into the 3.3 Main Story.
- Practice dodge timing in regular fights, since dodges power up the mech's laser.
- Get comfortable with EX Specials, which also trigger the laser attack.
- Look around each area for explosives and objects you can use.
- Stock up on materials through Data Bounty and Combat Simulation farming so Phoenix and Severian are ready to build.
Your ZZZ 3.3 Mech Combat Checklist
- Mark October 21 for Version 3.3.
- Start the 3.3 Main Story to unlock mech combat.
- Switch between melee and ranged modes to suit each fight.
- Chain dodges and EX Specials into the laser attack.
- Use explosives and heavy punches to solve puzzles.
Mech combat gives ZZZ's fast-paced fighting a fresh twist, and since it is built into the Main Story and planned for future versions, it is worth learning early. Clear your current story, sharpen your dodge timing and get ready to pilot your first mech on October 21.
