War Thunder Steel Fury Battle Pass: New Vehicles & Rewards
By Sir Ayup
War Thunder Battle Pass Season 25, Steel Fury, begins on October 21, 2026, introducing two German premium vehicles, a refreshed Warbond Shop, and a reward track built around German military-themed cosmetics. The S-706 torpedo boat and Jagdpanther G2 tank destroyer are the main vehicle rewards, but they do not unlock in the same way: the S-706 coupon appears on a free Battle Pass level, while the Jagdpanther G2 sits on the premium track. The season also brings the Z4 Zerstörer and FR-1 Fireball to the Warbond Shop for the first time. Here are the confirmed dates, vehicle details, level milestones, and progression rules.
Steel Fury Dates, Prices, and Free vs Premium Rewards

Steel Fury is War Thunder's twenty-fifth Battle Pass season. It starts on October 21 at 12:00 GMT (19:00 WIB) and runs until January 20, 2027 at 12:00 GMT (19:00 WIB). The season uses the familiar Battle Pass structure: earn progress points, advance through levels, and collect rewards according to whether each level is free or requires the premium pass.
The two paid options have different starting conditions:
- 2,000 Golden Eagles: Unlocks the paid Battle Pass reward track.
- 2,500 Golden Eagles: Unlocks the paid track and adds 150 progress points, equivalent to 15 levels.
- Free track: Includes selected rewards without purchasing the premium pass, notably the S-706 coupon at level 51.
The paid Battle Pass does not automatically deliver every reward on purchase. Levels still have to be unlocked through progress, apart from the initial 15-level boost included with the improved version. War Thunder also allows progress points to be purchased for Golden Eagles beginning 28 days after the season starts.
Players can find the Battle Pass on the right side of the hangar screen. That is also where the season's progression and available rewards can be reviewed. For anyone deciding whether to spend Golden Eagles, the key distinction is the reward at level 51 versus the vehicle at level 75: the first is marked free, while the second requires access to the paid rewards.
The Two Main Steel Fury Vehicles
Steel Fury places its biggest vehicle rewards in two different branches. One is a fast naval craft designed for torpedo attacks, while the other is a German tank destroyer built around an 88 mm gun. Both carry premium status, but their armaments and roles are clearly different.
S-706: Germany's Rank III Premium Torpedo Boat

The S-706 enters the German coastal fleet as a Rank III premium torpedo boat. It belongs to the advanced generation of German Schnellboote, and its announced equipment combines speed, torpedoes, depth charges, automatic cannons, and machine guns.
Its confirmed characteristics include:
- A top speed of nearly 80 km/h.
- Four torpedo tubes, split between two bow-mounted and two stern-mounted tubes.
- A total loadout of six torpedoes.
- Torpedo-launching capability while approaching a target or withdrawing from one.
- 30 mm and 20 mm cannons, machine guns, and depth charges.
The bow and stern arrangement is an important part of its design. S-706 is not limited to a torpedo attack during its approach; it also carries launchers facing the other direction. Its automatic weapons add close-range firepower against smaller craft.
The official vehicle description positions S-706 for fighting other small boats and capturing points in naval battles involving larger vessels. Those roles are consistent with its announced speed and weapons, without requiring any assumption about its final Battle Rating.
The S-706 vehicle coupon is listed at Battle Pass level 51, which is marked as a free reward. Its Deforming tricolor camouflage follows at level 54, also on a free level. Players interested primarily in the new torpedo boat should pay particular attention to those two milestones rather than assuming that both headline vehicles are locked behind the premium purchase.
Jagdpanther G2: Germany's Rank IV Premium Tank Destroyer

The second headline reward is the Jagdpanther G2, a Rank IV premium tank destroyer for Germany. It retains the established Jagdpanther combination of an 88 mm gun, sloped frontal protection, and mobility, while adding an Em 0.9 m R rangefinder and premium status.
Its gun is the same 88 mm weapon associated with the King Tiger. The vehicle announcement describes it as capable of penetrating the frontal armor of medium tanks and most heavy tanks. Its fighting compartment uses sloped frontal armor, providing protection against many smaller-caliber armor-piercing rounds.
The G2 is presented as a modified form of the familiar Jagdpanther G1 rather than a completely unrelated vehicle. Its added rangefinder is the explicitly identified equipment difference, and its premium classification changes its reward-earning role in the game.
Unlike S-706, the Jagdpanther G2 coupon appears at level 75 on the paid track. The associated Hinterhalt-Tarnung MAN camouflage is listed at level 79, while a Jagdpanther G2 profile background appears at level 65. These are separate rewards on the level chart, so receiving one does not mean that the other milestones have already been reached.
For players choosing between the free and premium routes, this is the clearest dividing line: the naval vehicle can be earned through a free milestone, whereas the Jagdpanther G2 belongs to the paid Battle Pass progression.
Other Steel Fury Battle Pass Rewards and Key Levels

The German theme extends beyond vehicles. Steel Fury includes military-inspired decorations, name decals, a profile background, camouflage rewards, a loading screen, and a season title. The full level chart makes it possible to identify the important milestones before committing to the season.
Some confirmed rewards include:
- Level 3: Clementine decal, available on the free track.
- Level 28: Erika decal, also on a free level.
- Level 33: Ammunition Crate tank decoration.
- Level 38: A vehicle trophy containing one randomly awarded vehicle from a specified pool.
- Level 51: Free S-706 vehicle coupon.
- Level 54: Free S-706 Deforming tricolor camouflage.
- Level 58: PWK 42 LP tank decoration.
- Level 65: Jagdpanther G2 profile background.
- Level 72: Puppchen ship decoration, marked free.
- Level 75: Jagdpanther G2 vehicle coupon on the paid track.
- Level 79: Jagdpanther G2 camouflage.
- Level 100: Jagdpanther G2 loading screen, marked free.
- Level 150: Steel Fury title, marked free.
The season also features German-name decals including Gertrud and Brunhild. Other levels provide Silver Lions, Research Point and Silver Lion boosters, Orders, Wagers, Universal Backups, Warbonds, and Premium Account time. The level chart places 10 days of Premium Account at level 14.
The random vehicle trophy at level 38 has four possible vehicle rewards: ORP Garland, USS Detroit, Matilda Hedgehog, and Ro.57 Quadriarma. It awards one vehicle from that pool, rather than letting every player claim all four. Players who already have every vehicle in the pool receive Silver Lions and a Golden Battles Wager instead; the wager can provide a route to earning up to 1,000 Golden Eagles under its conditions.
Two additional milestones matter for players thinking beyond the current season. Level 105 provides the S-706 coupon upgrade, and level 125 provides the Jagdpanther G2 coupon upgrade. An upgrade can turn its associated vehicle coupon into a tradable version for the Gaijin Market. Holding both upgrade coupons also allows them to be exchanged for the next Battle Pass once the following season begins, provided the coupons remain in the player's inventory.
Those uses are alternatives worth keeping separate: a player can focus on making a vehicle coupon tradable, or retain both upgrades for the next season's Battle Pass. Neither option should be confused with simply unlocking the vehicle at level 51 or 75.
The Warbond Shop Adds Z4 Zerstörer and FR-1 Fireball
Steel Fury's Warbond Shop changes the available vehicle selection as well as the Battle Pass track. Two additions are explicitly making their first appearance in the Warbond Shop: Germany's Z4 Zerstörer and the American FR-1 Fireball.

The Z4 Zerstörer is a premium German destroyer derived from the Fletcher-class USS Claxton. Its defining addition is secondary anti-aircraft armament consisting of six 76 mm guns that can fire high-explosive shells with proximity fuzes. Combined with radar, that weapon setup is intended for engagements against aircraft and smaller naval targets.

The FR-1 Fireball is an American fighter with both piston and jet propulsion. Its mixed engine arrangement distinguishes it from conventional piston-only aircraft in the shop selection. The published loadout includes four 12.7 mm machine guns, plus external options for HVAR rockets, fuel tanks, naval mines, and 500 lb or 1,000 lb bombs.
Both newcomers expand the Warbond vehicle pool without being the same kind of reward as S-706 or Jagdpanther G2. They are obtained through the Warbond Shop's own currency and unlock requirements, not merely by reaching the two headline vehicle coupon levels.

The announced shop also includes Pz.IV G (Italy), T-126 (USSR), MGB-75 (Great Britain), and Ki-44-II Otsu (Japan). Beyond vehicles, its stock includes the new Miss October 1944 Pin-up decal, a trophy of older decals from 2019, camouflage trophies, German tanker profile-icon trophies, and consumables such as boosters, backups, wagers, orders, vehicle rentals, and talismans.
The Warbond Shop has six levels. Each becomes available by reaching the corresponding Battle Pass milestones. Purchases from shop level III onward also require medals earned by completing Special Tasks, in addition to the necessary Warbonds. That distinction matters if a player has collected the currency but cannot yet buy a higher-level item.
The Warbond Shop can be opened from Shop > Warbond Shop in the hangar or through the Shop button inside the Battle Pass interface. The in-game shop displays the current item prices and specific purchase conditions.
How Steel Fury Battle Pass Progress Works
Battle Pass advancement is based on progress points, with 10 points required per level. Points come from the game's confirmed recurring activities:
- Daily login: Awards 1–5 progress points.
- Daily Tasks: Award 2–5 progress points for each completed task.
- Battle Pass Challenges: Award 30 points for each completed challenge.
New challenges unlock weekly, with three further challenges available through certain Battle Pass levels. This means the pass is not advanced only through match rewards or a single event mission. Logging in, clearing tasks, and completing the season challenges all contribute to progression.
For players focused on S-706, the level chart gives a concrete target at level 51 and a related camouflage at level 54. For the Jagdpanther G2, the target is level 75 with the paid track unlocked. Players interested in the Warbond Shop need to consider shop-level milestones and Special Task medals as well as their total Warbond balance.
The pass also includes consumable rewards along the way. Boosters, Silver Lions, and Premium Account time are distributed across specific levels rather than provided as a single bundle on the first day. Checking the reward chart makes the difference between a free milestone and a paid one visible before spending Golden Eagles.
A useful comparison is War Thunder's earlier Desert Predator event, which used timed mission-point stages to award the AMV (BMP-3). Steel Fury instead advances through Battle Pass points earned from logins, tasks, and challenges. Likewise, the Guardian of the Baltic Sea naval event used a dedicated naval mission-point path. Those are different progression systems, so their stage requirements should not be applied to Steel Fury.
Which Steel Fury Rewards Should You Target?
The announced reward chart supports three straightforward paths, depending on what a player actually wants from the season.
For the free-track route, the most notable vehicle target is S-706 at level 51, followed by its camouflage at level 54. Other free rewards appear throughout the track, including decals, Warbonds, the Jagdpanther loading screen, and the Steel Fury title at level 150. Free rewards still require reaching their listed levels.
For the premium-vehicle route, Jagdpanther G2 is the central distinction. Its coupon is placed at level 75 on the premium track, so the 2,000- or 2,500-Golden-Eagle Battle Pass option is relevant to anyone primarily pursuing that tank destroyer. The more expensive option adds 15 levels' worth of progress immediately; it does not change which reward track the vehicle belongs to.
For Warbond Shop purchases, the new Z4 Zerstörer and FR-1 Fireball stand out because both are first-time shop additions. Access still depends on unlocking the appropriate shop levels, holding sufficient Warbonds, and meeting medal requirements where applicable. The full item conditions appear in-game rather than in the summary announcement.
Steel Fury's key decision is therefore less about a single headline vehicle and more about choosing the correct reward path. The free Battle Pass includes S-706, the premium track is needed for Jagdpanther G2, and the Warbond Shop operates through separate currency and task requirements. With the confirmed season schedule and level milestones available, players can check those targets directly instead of treating every announced reward as part of one purchase.
