The 24.0 livestream landed the August update, and the headline isn't the new Hunter — it's that Hall of the Monarchs costs nothing to enter.

No tickets, no entry currency, unlimited retries. In a game where every other challenge mode is gated by keys or invitations, an endgame mode you can run as many times as you like changes what "endgame" means for players who have time but not stamina items.

Here's everything from the broadcast, plus the interface details that weren't in the developer notes.

Lee Joohee, Pilgrim of the Labyrinth

The 2nd Memorial Hunter — a Light-attribute Buster, Attack-scaling.

The premise: an alternate version of Lee Joohee from the timeline the Rulers wound back with the Cup of Reincarnation. In this one she survives, pushed clear of the Double Dungeon moments before the door sealed. Everyone else didn't. She fights the way someone fights when they're trying to outrun what they failed to prevent.

How she plays: laser fire and magic prisms. Her Basic Skills and Core Attacks trigger additional attacks, and as that effect stacks, her Buster Skill hits harder. She's nominally a support, but the burst at the top of that stack is the real output.

Skills: Spectrum Edge, Reflecting Chain, Lucent Release, and Prism Blast as her ultimate. Strong Airborne and Knockdown application.

Exclusive weapon — Guide of the Blessed Light: raises her Attack, Defense Penetration, Defense and HP ceiling.

Who she wants next to her: the developers named Laura Walker and Shimizu Akari, both of whom were buffed in this same patch — Akari specifically reworked to synergise with Light-attribute Busters, Walker gaining damage that scales per Light ally. Antoine Martinez also fits.

That's worth reading twice before you pull. A Light Buster, two Light supports buffed to serve her, and the Surtur's Flame artifact set improved for Busters — all in one update. If you own Walker and Akari already, the buffs may do the work without the banner. If you own neither, Joohee alone is a thinner purchase than the presentation suggests.

Spirit Blade: Blizzard

A Water-attribute stacking weapon for Sung Jinwoo, built around speed and freeze.

Swinging scabbard and sword in a cross motion freezes a wide area ahead. It boosts every Jinwoo skill capable of triggering freeze, and sharpens considerably once those skills have been used a set number of times.

The practical value is control, not raw numbers. Freezing a boss buys the safe window to complete a rotation — which matters more in a mode where you've deliberately made yourself squishier.

Pairs with Skadi, itself substantially reworked this patch into a Water-attribute Overload specialist.

Hall of the Monarchs — and the Proof of Mastery system

Unlocked by clearing Tier 10 of the Workshop of Brilliant Light.

The core idea: you build your own difficulty. Rather than solving a fixed challenge, you select restrictions and take on the version of the fight you designed.

The system has a name the developer notes didn't give it: Proof of Mastery. The interface makes the structure clear:

  • Restrictions stack in tiers rather than toggling on and off — separate caps of 0/10, 0/3 and 0/2 depending on the restriction, each with a MAX shortcut.
  • Named restrictions visible in the panel: decrease ally Precision (up to 3), increase enemy Critical Hit Rate and Critical Hit damage (up to 3), decrease ally HP Recovery (up to 2), decrease ally MP Recovery (up to 2), decrease ally Shield HP, and an enrage — after 300 seconds, damage that cannot be ignored is dealt.
  • A Proof Level rises as you stack, feeding Points Earned and an Expected Total Power figure.

So the loop is: raise your own difficulty, raise your score. The 300-second enrage is the interesting one — it converts any over-cautious build into a losing one, which stops "stack everything, play slowly" from being the answer.

Scoring is percentile-ranked, not threshold-based. The season screen shows National Level at the top 1%, S Rank top 5%, A Rank top 10%, and B Rank top 25%, with separate Season Rank and Guild Ranking tabs.

That's the honest framing. You aren't clearing a bar, you're being sorted against everyone else. Combined with unlimited free retries, the mode rewards persistence as much as roster strength — the ranking measures how many attempts you were willing to grind into a better score.

On the boss line-up, be careful. The developer notes stated Season 1 would feature Surtur, Vulcan and Yogumunt, running two weeks from 3 September, with Water and Light weaknesses. The build shown on stream instead lists Esil Radiru on Floor 1 under a BETA tag, with Deimos, the Commander of Transfiguration and The Monarch of the Beginning Legia locked behind it, on a timer running roughly three weeks.

Those don't reconcile cleanly. The likeliest reading is that a beta period runs now and the announced Season 1 begins 3 September — but the developer notes did carry a standing warning that details could change before release. Check the in-game floor list rather than either source.

Content rotations

Simulation Gate — expanded from Floor 55 to Floor 60.

Edge of Illusion and Dreams — boss rotates to Kamish. It's also running as this month's seasonal content in place of Battlefield of Time, because of the ranking revamp.

Power of Calamity — a new eldritch, tentacled boss joins the rotation.

Guild Boss — rotates to the Giant Statue from the Double Dungeon.

Trophy Ranking ends with this update. Weekly Essence Stone rewards tied to trophies held continue unchanged, and a Power-based ranking system arrives later this year.

Cosmetics

Lee Joohee — Summer Break, a retro 60s/70s look in rainbow-green print with wide-cut jeans.

Laura Walker — a nightgown skin.

Sung Jinwoo — Waning Moon Key, a weapon skin reworking the Transfiguration Key into a dark silver gothic blade with new silhouette-strike visuals.

Events

At the Seasonal Crossroads! check-in — a daily login track. Notable stops: a Special Artifact Crafting Chest, a Legendary Skill Rune Chest on day 14, and a Hunter Exclusive Weapon Design on day 21.

Day 21 is the one to plan around. Exclusive Weapon Designs are the bottleneck on finishing any Hunter's signature weapon, and a 21-day check-in means starting late costs you the top of the track.

Coupon codes

Two codes were given out during the broadcast, both stated as valid until 16 September 2026, 4:59 PM PT:

  • you heard me
  • jackie is the best

Codes in ARISE are case-sensitive, and stream codes have historically had short windows. Redeem at the official coupon page rather than waiting.

Looking ahead

Netmarble is preparing a Half-Anniversary — the 2.5-year celebration — for October, which the developer notes had also flagged. The 4-Hunter Team Fight Mode, breaking the long-standing three-Hunter composition limit and adding joint attacks, remains the studio's headline upcoming feature.

Build the account the season expects

Unlimited retries only convert into a top-25% placing when the roster behind them can survive stacked restrictions — and Tier 10 clears, artifact quality and Light-attribute depth are the slow half of any Solo Leveling: ARISE account.
