Reverse: 1999 Cornerstone Pull or Save? Riposte Carry 3.8 Analysis
By Sir Ayup 12 October 2026, 15:00 WIB
Reverse: 1999 Cornerstone arrives on the global server on October 15, headlining Phase 2 of Version 3.8, "The Temporal Scale." She is a brand-new 6-star Mineral Riposte carry, and her kit is unusual: the harder enemies hit, the harder she hits back. At gamemarket.gg, we went through her skills, the teams she fits and the situations where she struggles, so you can decide whether she is worth your pulls or whether saving makes more sense. Her banner runs until November 5.

Who Is Cornerstone?
- Rarity: 6-star
- Afflatus: Mineral
- Damage type: Reality
- Role: Damage dealer built around Riposte, attacks that trigger in response to enemy actions
Most carries in Reverse: 1999 want to attack first and end fights quickly. Cornerstone works the other way around. She absorbs pressure, stores it and turns it into damage, which makes her strongest in fights where enemies hit often and hit hard.
How Her Kit Works

Inspiration, Precognition
- Allies gain Eligibility Assessment, which reduces the damage they take.
- The damage reduced is stored as Trial and Error.
- Each time an ally performs a Riposte, they deal extra Reality damage based on that stored value.
This is the core of her design. Her passive makes the whole team safer and more dangerous at the same time, as long as your team can Riposte.
Skill 1, Concrete Functionality
- A single-target attack that counts as a Riposte.
- Grants Progressive Iteration stacks.
- Deals extra damage and Critical DMG while she is in Inspection Process.
Skill 2, Figure-Ground Relationship
- A self-counter that puts her into Inspection Process and grants Progressive Iteration stacks.
- Sets up a mass Riposte attack at the end of the enemy's round.
Ultimate, Foundations of Tomorrow
- Enters Delivery Process, increasing her damage reduction.
- Releases Delivery Feedback, a Riposte attack that scales with Design Revision stacks.
Put simply, Skill 2 prepares the counterattack, Skill 1 cashes in during Inspection Process and the Ultimate turns her accumulated stacks into a big Riposte finisher.
Her Insights
- Insight I: gains Progressive Iteration stacks whenever allies take extra actions.
- Insight II: +5% ATK on entering battle.
- Insight III: extra Moxie on entry, her Ultimate no longer counts toward the ally Spelldock limit and overflow Moxie is stored.
Insight III is the big one, since it makes her Ultimate easier to fit into your rotation alongside other Ultimates.
Strengths and Weaknesses
Strengths
- Strong damage against enemies that attack often, which describes many high-pressure bosses.
- Boosts allied Ripostes, so she lifts the whole team's damage.
- Damage mitigation through her passive and Ultimate, useful when fights get dangerous.
- Flexible team building with Extra Action and Ritual supports.
Weaknesses
- Her damage drops sharply when enemies do not attack. Passive or slow enemies give her little to work with.
- She depends on allies with Extra Actions, ideally Ripostes.
- She needs micromanagement to reach full value, which may not suit players who rely on auto battle.
Best Teammates

Community team guides point to these partners:
- J, especially with Euphoria 1
- Rhiannon
- Flutterpage
- Anjo Nala
- Moldir and Narcissus
What they have in common is that they create extra actions or support Riposte play, feeding Cornerstone's passive and Insight I. If you already own two or more of them, Cornerstone slots into an existing team instead of needing one built around her.
Her Signature Psychube

Her best-in-slot Psychube is Where Light and Shadows Rest, which provides Crit stats and a unique Riposte damage bonus. It works best when she has an ally who can perform multiple Ripostes, so it is a strong pick for players with the teammates above and a lower priority for everyone else.
Who Should Pull for Cornerstone

- Players who own Riposte or Extra Action supports such as J, Rhiannon or Flutterpage. She turns their actions into extra damage.
- Players struggling with aggressive bosses. Enemies that hit hard and often are exactly where she shines.
- Players who enjoy active, hands-on combat. Her rotation rewards careful timing.
- Mineral collectors looking for a new damage dealer in that Afflatus.
Who Should Save
- Players without Riposte or Extra Action teammates. Without them, a large part of her kit stays inactive.
- Players who rely on auto battle. Her value depends on timing and micromanagement.
- Players whose problem content features passive enemies. If enemies rarely attack, she has little to counter.
- Players low on pulls. If you are short on resources, check the latest Reverse: 1999 codes for free rewards before committing.
Verdict: Pull or Save?
Pull if you own Riposte or Extra Action supports and want a damage dealer who thrives under pressure. Cornerstone makes the whole team tougher and turns incoming hits into damage, which is a strong combination against aggressive bosses.
Save if your roster lacks those supports, you prefer auto battle or your toughest content uses passive enemies. She is powerful in the right team but very team-dependent.
Whichever you choose, decide before November 5, when her banner closes.
