Chaos Build Neverness to Everness — Lakshana DPS Walkthrough

Chaos arrives in Neverness to Everness as the Phase 2 headliner of Version 1.1, opening June 24 and running through July 8, 2026 — and he's the first limited male rate-up character in NTE's global roster. The S-Rank Lakshana Main DPS wields a scythe and gun combination, commands a fog hound companion that doubles as a teleport anchor, and centers his combat around the Crime Charge + Warrant mechanic that makes him both a primary damage dealer and a team-wide damage amplifier. This is the complete pre-banner build walkthrough for Appraisers preparing to pull Chaos during his debut window.

🔥 Why Chaos's Banner Matters

Chaos is positioned as a meta-shifting addition to the NTE roster. The community consensus from Phase 2 previews and early kit reveals places him at S-Rank with strong endgame ceiling — both for his personal damage output and his team-wide Warrant debuff that amplifies all incoming damage by 15-20%.

His Phase 2 banner "Forsaken Path" runs June 24 – July 8, 2026, giving Appraisers a 14-day window to secure him. For accounts looking to expand their Lakshana element coverage or add a versatile DPS-buffer hybrid, this is the debut banner — and his next rerun could be many patches away.

What makes Chaos uniquely valuable is his hybrid DPS-amplifier kit. Most NTE characters either deal damage OR provide team buffs — Chaos does both simultaneously. His Warrant debuff turns the target into a damage multiplier zone for the entire team, while his personal Crime Surge burst damage establishes his ceiling as a primary DPS.

⚔️ Chaos's Kit Breakdown

Rarity: SSR (S-Rank limited)
Element: Lakshana
Role: Main DPS with team-wide debuff utility
Weapon Type: Scythe and gun combination
Companion: Fog hound (teleport anchor in open world)

His core gameplay loop:

• Basic Attack Combo: Builds Crime Charges through standard attack patterns. Foundation resource generation.
• Skill (Crime Application): Applies baseline Chaos marks and accelerates Crime Charge accumulation.
• Warrant (Debuff Application): Marks a target to amplify all incoming damage by 15-20% for 8 seconds — turns Chaos into a team-wide damage multiplier.
• Crime Surge (Burst Window): Spends accumulated Crime Charges for heavy burst damage. The higher the charges, the larger the burst payoff.
• Ultimate: Grants Chaos a massive CRIT DMG bonus for 20 seconds, allowing him to fully capitalize on enhanced state damage.
• Remora State Passive: Provides significant damage when the Remora state expires — adds passive damage layer on top of active rotation.

The Crime Charge + Warrant interaction is core to his power. Patient Crime Charge building before activating Crime Surge during a Warrant-debuffed window creates the highest damage ceilings. Rushing burst windows without enough charges wastes his potential.

🗡️ Best Arc (Weapon) for Chaos

Signature Arc: "What's Desired"

What's Desired is Chaos's signature 5-star Arc and his clear BiS choice. The passive provides:

• Permanent Lakshana DMG boost — amplifies his entire kit including heavy attack mechanics
• Massive CRIT DMG bonus when Ultimate is used — 20-second window for maximum burst
• Tuned specifically to his Crime Charge accumulation rhythm

For Appraisers committed to Chaos as primary DPS, the signature Arc pull is strongly recommended alongside the character. The gap between What's Desired and alternative 5-star Arcs is substantial for ceiling builds. Save Tri-Keys ahead of Phase 2 if you plan to pull both character and Arc.

Non-Signature Alternatives:

• Any 5-Star Lakshana Arc from Standard Banner — Solid backup option, functional ceiling
• 4-Star Lakshana Arcs — F2P-friendly placeholders, lower ceiling but accessible

The signature Arc is essential for maximum ceiling but not strictly required for clearing all current content. F2P Appraisers can build Chaos competitively with standard banner alternatives.

🎮 Best Console Cartridge for Chaos

BiS Console: Street Boxer

Street Boxer provides the strongest combination for Chaos:

• Lakshana DMG amplification
• Up to 28% CRIT Rate scaling
• Synergizes with Remora state passive (significant damage when state expires)

For Appraisers prioritizing maximum damage ceiling, Street Boxer is the consensus pick from community testing.

Alternative Cartridges:

• Chaos Resonance Console — ATK% main stat focus; raw damage scaling option
• Striker Set Modules — Hybrid Crit/ATK approach

F2P Budget Setup:

• Any ATK% Console with ER substats — Functional baseline for ceiling builds
• Mixed Chaos Resonance ×2 + Striker ×2 — Solid hybrid for early progression

📊 Module Setup & Substat Priorities

Main Stats:

• ATK% — Foundation scaling stat
• CRIT Rate — Push toward 60-70% for consistent crits
• CRIT DMG — Pair with CRIT Rate at 1:2 ratio
• Lakshana DMG% — Element-specific amplification

Substat Priorities:

1. CRIT Rate — Target 70%+ during Ultimate window
2. CRIT DMG — Target 140-160%+ for ceiling builds
3. ATK% — Standard scaling stat
4. Energy Recharge — Moderate priority; faster Ultimate cycling
5. Flat ATK — Secondary scaling contribution

The Crit ratio for Chaos trends 1:2 (CRIT Rate to CRIT Damage) — standard for high-end NTE DPS builds. Pushing past 70% CRIT Rate provides diminishing returns; shift remaining substats into ATK% and Lakshana DMG.

👥 Best Team Compositions

Chaos slots into compositions that leverage both his personal DPS and his Warrant debuff amplification:

Team #1: Pure Lakshana DPS (Personal Ceiling)

• Chaos (Main DPS — Crime Surge + Warrant)
• Lakshana Sub-DPS or amplifier (TBD based on Phase 2 reveals)
• Sustain/Buffer character (Sakiri or accessible support)
• Flex slot — additional Sub-DPS or utility

This is the personal-ceiling composition that maximizes Chaos's individual damage output. Best for single-target boss encounters where Warrant amplification benefits one priority target.

Team #2: Warrant Amplification Hybrid

• Chaos (Main DPS + Warrant applicator)
• Lacrimosa (S-Rank Chaos DPS — capitalizes on Warrant debuff timing)
• Healer/Buffer (Verina-equivalent or hybrid support)
• Sub-DPS for cleanup waves

This composition uses Chaos's Warrant debuff to amplify Lacrimosa's burst windows. Best for content where multiple damage sources benefit from the 15-20% damage amplification window.

Team #3: Cosmos & Lakshana Reaction Comp

• Chaos (Main DPS)
• Cosmos element synergy character (TBD)
• Lakshana reaction enabler
• Sustain

Chaos synergizes with Cosmos and Lakshana reaction comps. This composition leverages element reactions for additional damage layers beyond his personal kit.

Team #4: Budget F2P Composition

• Chaos (Main DPS)
• Nanally (Anima DPS or Sub-DPS)
• Lacrimosa (Chaos Sub-DPS)
• Standard banner support

For F2P or accounts without extensive Phase 2 pulls, this composition uses Phase 1 characters (Lacrimosa, Nanally) to support Chaos. Solid alternative when Phase 2 character pool is limited.

📈 Awakening Priority

Awakening progression for Chaos unlocks progressive damage ceiling:

• Awakening 1 — Initial unlock; basic kit access functional
• Awakening 3 — Mid-tier ceiling unlock; access to additional kit components
• Awakening 6 — Final ceiling; unlocks all passives and maximum potential

Specific Awakening details will be finalized when Chaos releases on June 24. Watch for community theorycrafting in the first week of his banner to identify the highest-impact Awakening levels.

Investment Priority:

1. Character at S0 (initial pull)
2. Signature Arc "What's Desired" S1
3. Console Cartridge Street Boxer optimization
4. Module substat optimization (CRIT Rate + CRIT DMG)
5. Higher Awakenings (if budget allows)

🎯 Pull Strategy for Chaos's Banner

Pull Chaos if:

• You want the first limited male rate-up character in NTE's roster
• Your account lacks a strong Lakshana element DPS
• You prioritize hybrid DPS-amplifier kits over pure single-role characters
• You have 80+ Solid Dice / Annulith saved for guaranteed pity
• You can also afford the signature Arc "What's Desired"
• You enjoy Crime Charge stack-based gameplay with timing-dependent burst windows

Consider passing if:

• You already have a strong Lakshana DPS (rare currently, but possible)
• You missed Lacrimosa and prefer Chaos-element specialization
• You're saving for Version 1.2 (potential meta shifts)
• Your resource reserves don't cover character + signature Arc
• Your team composition gaps don't include a Lakshana DPS need

💡 Build Tips for Chaos

• Patient Crime Charge building beats aggressive Crime Surge — Spending charges at low counts wastes his damage ceiling
• Time Warrant debuff windows carefully — 15-20% damage amplification is your team's burst opportunity

• Street Boxer Cartridge BiS — Lakshana DMG + 28% CRIT Rate provides ideal stat distribution
• Build CRIT Rate to 70%+ — Foundation for consistent damage output
• Ultimate timing matters — 20-second CRIT DMG window should align with Crime Surge for ceiling damage
• Master the Remora state expiration timing — Passive damage layer that rewards rotation awareness
