HSR Currency Wars Is Getting a 7-Cost Aha in Its New Season
By Sir Ayup
HSR Currency Wars is getting its biggest shake-up since launch. The new season, Currency Wars: Voyage Into the Canvas, arrives with Version 4.7 and brings a completely reworked roster of 60 characters, 29 new Bonds, two new themed mechanics and a version of Aha that can grow into a 7-Cost unit. Equipment and your Seasonal Advantage Layout also reset. At gamemarket.gg, we explain how Currency Wars works, what changes this season, what resets and what stays, and what to finish before the current season ends. We update this guide every time a new season begins.
What Is Currency Wars?
Currency Wars is a permanent strategy mode in Honkai: Star Rail, first added in Version 3.7. Instead of using your own team, you recruit characters from a store with in-mode currency, combine copies to raise their star rating, equip them with items and field them together to activate Bonds. Each run moves through Planes and Nodes, with boss battles along the way.
Each season swaps in a new theme, a new character pool and new Bonds, so strategies from one season do not carry over directly to the next.
Current Season: Voyage Into the Canvas
The new season starts with Version 4.7 on November 11, 2026, replacing Zero-Sum Game. HoYoverse describes it as the Strategic Investment Department turning the Trailblazer's adventures aboard the Starfroster into comics, with characters from Fluffy Across the Blue joining as voyage companions.
All details below come from HoYoverse's official highlights page, which notes that the mode is still in development and that the final release may differ.
Before November 11: Claim Your Zero-Sum Game Rewards
The current season, Zero-Sum Game, is reported to end on November 11 at 06:00 (UTC+8), and rewards you have not claimed by then are reported to be lost. Before the update:
- Claim every finished reward in the Currency Wars menu
- Push your Ascension Level and Gambit rank as far as you can, since they are reported to reset with the new season
- Finish any challenge conditions you are close to completing
Community guides estimate the full Zero-Sum Game reward track at around 3,680 Stellar Jade, so it is worth checking for anything you missed.
What Resets and What Stays
According to HoYoverse:
- Equipment resets. Some advanced equipment made from basic items changes, so old recipes may not work the same way.
- Seasonal Advantage Layout resets. You rebuild it by collecting Phantasmal Orbs during the new season.
- Permanent Advantage Layout stays. It is fully preserved, and Nodes you have already unlocked are not affected.
- Investment Environments, Investment Strategies, opponents and enemy affixes are all updated.
New Mechanic: Escapade
At the start of every match, a voyage companion from Fluffy Across the Blue is randomly revealed and applies a special effect that buffs you for that match.
Escapade also adds a new Backstage Tea Break Reward Node, where voyage companions can help you during a break between fights.
New Mechanic: Plot Armor
Before the boss battles in Planes 1 and 2, you choose one character on the field to become that battle's protagonist and give them a Plot Armor effect.
Plot Armor effects include character buffs, Bond buffs and resource provisions. Picking the right protagonist for each boss is likely to be one of the key decisions this season.
A Completely New Character Roster
HoYoverse says 60 characters have been fully revamped. Their Character Empowerments, costs, Bonds and on-field or off-field roles have all changed, and the season adds 29 new Bonds.
Some of the characters highlighted on the official page:
- Aeon Aha (Elation, Support): starts weak and grows as you buy more copies, first upgrading to 5-Cost. With the help of Elation characters or the Phantasmoon Games Bond, Aha can ascend to a 7-Cost Aeon.
- Phainon (DPS): drag teammates onto him during preparation to turn them into Torchflame and power him up. In combat, he summons Flame Reaver and can end a cycle early to trigger Apocalypse.
- Xueyi (Break): her Ultimate locks down countdowns and enemy actions, and ally attacks charge her Follow-Up ATK even without reducing Toughness.
- Clara (Counter): every 2 new Nodes, she can enhance and modify Svarog, and each modification increases her damage.
- Dan Heng • Imbibitor Lunae: lets you add one Bond from Summon, Combo, Heal or Counter, and summons a Dan Heng • Permansor Terrae of the same star rating that copies his equipment.
- Jade (Off-field, AoE ATK): opens a black market store with a signature item you can buy without limit, plus rotating items. In combat, she marks a Debt Collector who charges her attacks.
- Hyacine (Heal): heals allies automatically when their HP is low and increases the team's SPD Amplification.
- Serval (DoT): her Skill fires more Lightning Strikes that stack DoTs, and her Ultimate triggers DoTs on every enemy.

Bonds to Know This Season
HoYoverse previewed several of the new Bonds:
- High-Cloud Quintet: summons a Quintet Joint that attacks all enemies when taking action
- Intertwined Dreamscapes: pick two of its characters to perform a Dance of Two and attack at the same time
- Beast Garden: recruit chimeras that buff your whole team and attack as a squad
- Follow-Up ATK: enemies build up KO Value as they take damage and are instantly Executed once it reaches their current HP
- Trailblaze Silver Rail: earn Trailblaze Power to buy characters and items from the Trailblaze Store, and unlock King Pom-Pom to join combat after spending enough
- Astropolis Merchant Guild: grows stronger with more 3-star members, with perks such as Experience from Store refreshes, a free refresh every Node, the Astropolis Treasury and a VIP Special Privilege Card. Once every member is 3-star, Store characters can get random star upgrades while still costing as much as a 1-star unit.
- Counter: the Counter character with the most equipment becomes the Counter King, draws more attacks and deals Counter DMG
Exact Bond thresholds and numbers will be added once the season goes live.
Strategy Compendium Update
After the Version 4.7 update, the in-game Strategy Compendium will include the new season's characters and Bond lineups. It is the quickest way to check what each character does before committing to a build.
Tips for Your First Runs
- Do not reuse your Zero-Sum Game build. Costs, roles and Bonds have all changed, so treat the season as a fresh start.
- Read each Escapade companion's effect at the start of a match and build around it when it fits.
- Plan your Plot Armor pick early. Choose a protagonist who already carries your Bond or your damage.
- Rebuild your Seasonal Advantage Layout first. Collecting Phantasmal Orbs early makes later runs easier.
- Try Aha when copies show up. A 7-Cost Aeon is the kind of payoff that can carry a whole run.
