Planar Fissure returns on 7 September, doubling Planar Ornament drops from the Simulated Universe and Divergent Universe for the second half of Version 4.5.

The important detail isn't the doubling. It's that you get 12 opportunities for the entire event, and they don't reset daily. That single rule means Planar Fissure is not a login-every-day event — it's a single 480 Trailblaze Power decision you can make whenever you like inside the window.

Here's how it works and whether it's worth your Power.

The short version

  • Starts 7 September, Version 4.5.
  • 12 double-drop opportunities for the whole event. They do not reset.
  • 40 Trailblaze Power each — 480 TP total.
  • Requires Simulated Universe World 3.
  • Works through Simulated Universe or Divergent Universe.
  • Realm of the Strange also returns in 4.5, competing for the same Power.

No daily login required

This is the mechanic most guides bury, and it changes how you should plan.

Planar Fissure used to give 2 double-drop chances per day, refreshing daily. Under that system, missing a day meant losing rewards permanently, and the correct advice was to log in every single day.

That was changed. The event now grants 12 opportunities for the full duration, and the count does not reset during the event.

So you can spend all twelve in one sitting. If you're busy for the first week, nothing is lost — the opportunities are waiting. The only deadline is the event's end date.

For a game where most events reward daily discipline, this one rewards a single well-timed session instead.

The cost, exactly

Each double-drop opportunity costs 40 Trailblaze Power.

Twelve opportunities is 480 Trailblaze Power total.

With the standard cap at 240 and a full bar regenerating over roughly a day, the entire event is about two days of Power. That's not a grind — it's one purchase decision made across a two-week window.

Each opportunity also pays bonus Credits and Trailblaze EXP, provided you haven't hit maximum Trailblaze Level.

How to run it

You need Simulated Universe World 3 unlocked. That means completing the Trailblaze Mission "No Time for Me, My Friend" in Jarilo-VI and clearing World 2.

Two routes qualify:

Simulated Universe — progress through Domains to reach the Immersifiers, then perform Ornament Extraction.

Divergent Universe — start a combat challenge directly once you have a save file, without the Domain progression.

Divergent Universe is the more convenient route for most players, and it's especially relevant this version: Divergent Universe: Arcadian Chronicles received a gameplay refresh in 4.5, with new Occurrences, Curios and Equations. If you were going to learn the updated mode anyway, doing it during Planar Fissure means the runs pay double.

Immersifiers work in place of Trailblaze Power and still trigger the double drop, so bank them beforehand if you have them.

One useful fallback: if you can't clear the World you want, defeating an Elite boss is enough to claim bonus Immersion Rewards. You don't need a full clear. Restart runs to challenge bosses again as needed.

What you actually get

Planar Spheres and Link Ropes — the two Ornament slots.

The drops are limited to the two Relic sets available in whichever Ornament Extraction world you choose. That's the strategic decision: pick the world that holds the set you're actually missing, because you cannot target a set from a different world.

Check which sets each world offers before spending your first opportunity. Twelve chances spread across the wrong sets is twelve chances wasted.

Realm of the Strange runs too

Version 4.5 brings two double-drop events, and they draw on the same resource.

Realm of the Strange returns alongside Planar Fissure, doubling a different reward category.

Your Trailblaze Power has to cover both. Planar Fissure's 480 TP is a firm number; whatever Realm of the Strange asks comes on top. If you're also levelling characters, upgrading Traces or farming Light Cone materials in the same window, the Power budget gets tight quickly.

Decide which of the two matters more to your account before either opens. Ornaments are usually the deeper bottleneck for finished accounts; materials matter more for accounts still building.

Is it worth doing?

Not for everyone, and it's worth being direct about that.

Do it if your Equilibrium Level is high and your characters' levels and Traces are already maxed. At that point Ornaments are your remaining bottleneck, and doubling the drop rate on the game's least generous relic slot is genuinely valuable.

Skip it if you still need Stagnant Shadow materials, Credits, Trace materials or EXP materials. Those are hard requirements for making characters function; better Ornaments on an underlevelled character improve nothing.

The honest framing: Planar Fissure is an endgame event. It rewards accounts that have run out of other things to spend Power on. If you have anything else you need, spend it there.

Note on the 300% version

Worth knowing so you don't confuse the two.

Anniversary versions of this event run at 300% — triple drops rather than double. This September run is the standard 200% version.

If you've seen guides referencing triple drops, they're describing the anniversary variant, not this one.

What isn't confirmed

  • The event's end date. Previous Planar Fissure runs have lasted 14 days, which would place this one closing around 21 September — but that's a pattern, not an announcement.
  • Which Ornament sets are available in each Ornament Extraction world this version.
  • Realm of the Strange's exact dates and reward scope.

Check the Planar Fissure event page in-game for your remaining opportunity count and the exact window.

What to do

Bank Trailblaze Power ahead of 7 September if you're near your cap. Overflow is wasted, and 480 TP is a real commitment.

Don't rush on day one. The opportunities don't expire daily, so use them when you have time.

Pick your Ornament Extraction world deliberately. Two sets per world, and you can't mix.

Use Immersifiers first if you have them — they preserve Trailblaze Power for everything else.

Learn the refreshed Divergent Universe during the event, not before. The runs count either way; only one of those periods pays double.

Getting the account ready

Doubled Ornament drops only matter on an account far enough along that relics are the bottleneck — and Equilibrium Level, Trace materials and character levels are the slow half of Honkai: Star Rail, not the farming windows. Browse verified Honkai Star Rail accounts if you'd rather run 4.5 from a developed roster, book Honkai Star Rail hourly services to clear Simulated Universe and event content while the window runs, or push endgame modes through Honkai Star Rail boosting before the version ends.
