Who Is the Next Fortnite Captain? New SMG, Sprite and Start Time

The next Fortnite Captain's Day lands on Sunday, November 8 at 9 AM ET, and Epic says a new Captain will sail in to take over the Stronghold with a new SMG and more. Epic also moved the Treasure Hunters schedule this week, so Captain's Days now fall on Sundays and Treasure Hours on Saturdays. When Does the November 8 Captain's Day Start?

Fortnite Status confirmed the start time as 9 AM ET on November 8. Daylight saving time ended in the US on November 1, so that converts to:

• 9 AM ET / 6 AM PT
• 14:00 UTC
• 21:00 WIB (22:00 WITA, 23:00 WIT)

If the Stronghold still looks unchanged a few minutes after the start time, restart the game and check again.

Who Is the New Captain?

Epic's official post only says that "a new Captain sails in," without a name. However, Epic's own Treasure Hunters season page lists the Captains in order, and Lil Uzi Vert comes right after the Straw Hats and A$AP Rocky. Fortnite news account FNAssist also reported that Lil Uzi Vert, the SMG, a Sprite and the Stronghold takeover all moved to November 8 when the schedule changed.

That makes Lil Uzi Vert the expected Captain, though Epic has not named him for this date. One detail matters if you want the skin: according to Item Shop schedules, Lil Uzi Vert is not due in the shop until November 12, so the Captain's Day itself does not put the outfit up for sale.

What Changes on November 8

The Stronghold takeover. The new Captain claims the Stronghold, which changes who controls one of the island's busiest landing spots.

A new SMG. Epic confirmed a new SMG arrives with the Captain. Its name and stats have not been revealed yet, so look for it around the Stronghold first.

A new Sprite. Reports point to the Cursed Sprite arriving with this Captain's Day, but Epic has not confirmed its abilities. If it follows the earlier Sprites, it will be worth picking up early in a match.

On November 1, beating A$AP Rocky rewarded the Shock Rocket and the Lil' Flacko Sprite, so a boss fight with Captain loot is likely again. Check the Stronghold once the update is live rather than assuming the same rewards.

The New Weekly Schedule

Epic changed the Treasure Hunters rhythm on November 4:

• Saturdays: Treasure Hours, short windows with bonus starting gear
• Sundays: Captain's Days, when new content and a new Captain arrive

The first Saturday under the new schedule is Fortune Treasure Hours on November 7, when everyone drops with a Shock Rocket and a Self-Revive. The windows run 2 to 4 PM ET and 9 to 11 PM ET, which is 02:00 to 04:00 WIB and 09:00 to 11:00 WIB on November 8. The second window ends ten hours before the Captain arrives, so you can play both on the same day in Indonesia.

Upcoming Captain's Days

The season has more Captains lined up after this one:

• November 12 (Thursday): listed by Epic as a Captain's Day, with details not announced yet
• November 15: Hatsune Miku and Kasane Teto take over the island's resort, with returning weapons and a leek you can wield
• November 22: reports point to Oscar arriving with a ship of his own and the Frenzy Auto Shotgun

• Play Fortune Treasure Hours on Saturday to practice with the Shock Rocket before the Captain arrives
• Land at or near the Stronghold early on Sunday to find the new SMG first
• Grab the new Sprite whenever you see it, since its abilities are still unknown
• Save your V-Bucks if you want Lil Uzi Vert, since the skin arrives in the shop on November 12
