Fortnite Sep 24 Sprites: Bounty Hunter, Morgana & Mastery

Fortnite's September 24 Sprite reset adds one of Chapter 7 Season 4's biggest collection expansions yet. Seventeen new Bounty Hunter variants are now available, while Morgana joins the Sprite roster with five forms: Normal, Gold, Cheat Master, Loot Hacker, and Bounty Hunter.

That makes 22 newly available Sprite entries on September 24.

The two additions were confirmed differently. Epic officially announced the Bounty Hunter variant class in the v42.20 Battle Royale notes and dated it for September 24. Morgana was not given a release date in those notes, but became obtainable in the live game through the September 24 Sprite update.

For collectors, this is more than another visual variant wave. Bounty Hunter changes how Sprites are found and leveled, while Morgana brings a healing-focused passive that can directly affect Battle Royale and Zero Build matches.

What changed on September 24?

The September 24 reset adds:

Bounty Hunter Crown is not part of the 17 because it became obtainable earlier after v42.20. The Birthday Sprite is also separate and is officially scheduled for September 26, so it should not be counted in the September 24 wave.

How Bounty Hunter Sprites work

Epic describes Bounty Hunter variants as combat-focused Sprites.

Their defining mechanic is simple:

Bounty Hunter Sprites have a chance to appear when you eliminate an opponent.

That separates them from other variant families. Gold variants reward elimination XP bonuses, Cheat Master variants improve Cheat Code interactions, and Loot Hacker variants increase the chance of getting configured Loot Hack items. Bounty Hunter instead pushes players toward combat.

Epic also confirms that these variants level up through eliminations.

For most Bounty Hunter forms, carrying one while looting is not enough. You need to secure eliminations if you want to raise its Sprite Level and finish its mastery. Some Sprite families have special progression rules, so the live Collection screen should still be checked before assuming every form behaves identically.

Which Bounty Hunter variants are live?

The September 24 wave includes Bounty Hunter versions of:

• Sonic

• Shadow

• 8-Bit

• Jackrabbit

• Killswitch

• Klombo

• Overshield

• X-Ray

• Onigiri

• Storm Scout

• Blinky

• Crash Bandicoot

Morgana also has a Bounty Hunter form, but all five of her forms arrived together, so it makes more sense to treat her as a separate Sprite debut.

Bounty Hunter Crown had already arrived earlier. Birthday's Bounty Hunter form depends on the Birthday Sprite entering the live collection first, while Mega Man remains outside the standard multi-variant structure.

How to get Bounty Hunter Sprites

The main route is combat.

When you eliminate another player, a Bounty Hunter Sprite can appear. Epic has not published a guaranteed drop rate, so there is no verified number of eliminations that guarantees one.

That changes the farming mindset. Chest-based Sprite hunting rewards quiet loot routes and repeated openings. Bounty Hunter farming instead favors matches where you can consistently find fights without throwing away the match.

A practical approach is:

1. Land somewhere with enough loot to stabilize quickly.

2. Take early fights you are equipped to win.

3. Check elimination drops before rotating.

4. Extract the Sprite if you find one.

5. Keep using it if you want to push mastery.

Finding the variant is only the first step. You still need to secure it through the normal Sprite collection flow if you want it permanently added to your collection.

Morgana is now a live Sprite

Morgana arrives from the Persona 5 Royal crossover as a new Sprite rather than only appearing as a Sidekick.

That distinction matters.

Morgana's passive increases the effectiveness of healing items, with the bonus becoming stronger as the Sprite levels.

Live-game values after the September 24 update show the healing increase scaling from 15% at Level 1 to 100% at Level 5.

That makes Morgana more than a collection entry. At higher levels, healing items can become substantially more efficient in matches where repeated chip damage or Storm pressure forces frequent recovery.

How to find Morgana

The base Morgana Sprite can be found through the normal Sprite ecosystem.

Current live routes include:

• Chests

• Rare Chests and Vault routes

• Cheat Codes

• eliminating players carrying Morgana

• trading Sprites with other players

Unlike Bounty Hunter variants, the base Morgana Sprite is not restricted to elimination-based acquisition.

Players who already farm Vaults or Cheat Codes can keep using those routes instead of changing their playstyle completely.

The standard version carries the healing-item effectiveness passive.

Gold Morgana

Gold keeps the base Morgana power while adding the normal Gold-variant elimination XP advantage.

Cheat Master Morgana

This version combines Morgana's healing passive with Cheat Master functionality, making Cheat Code interactions more forgiving.

Loot Hacker Morgana

Loot Hacker Morgana keeps the base power while improving interaction with configured Loot Hack drops.

Bounty Hunter Morgana

This is the combat-oriented version. It keeps Morgana's healing identity while adding the Bounty Hunter mechanic tied to eliminations and Bounty Hunter progression.

Because all five forms entered the pool together, dedicated collectors now have a full Morgana variant set to chase.

Bounty Hunter changes Sprite mastery more than combat

The biggest long-term impact may be progression rather than direct power.

Earlier Sprite variants could often be farmed through looting, Cheat Codes, or general play. Bounty Hunter makes eliminations part of the collection grind itself.

That means two players chasing the same Sprite family can now have very different optimal routes. A collector who mainly farms Chests may finish Loot Hacker or base forms quickly but struggle with Bounty Hunter, while an aggressive Battle Royale player may progress the new variant much faster.

That matters because Sprite completion feeds into the Season 4 Mastery Track.

Epic has already expanded that track with rewards including the Pixel Polli Outfit, while another style is planned for players who master 70 Sprites later in the season.

Do not confuse Morgana Sprite with the Persona 5 shop drop

The timing makes this easy to mix up.

The Morgana Sprite became available on September 24, while the broader Persona 5 Royal Item Shop release is scheduled separately.

The Sprite is a gameplay collectible.

The Morgana Sidekick is a cosmetic companion.

Joker and Ann are Outfits.

Those are separate systems, even though they belong to the same crossover. You do not need to buy the Morgana Sidekick to find or level the Morgana Sprite.

What should collectors prioritize first?

If you are chasing completion, start with Bounty Hunter variants on Sprite families you already understand.

Because eliminations drive Bounty Hunter progression, trying to master every new form at once can make the grind much slower.

For Morgana, secure the base form first, then decide which special variant fits how you play. Cheat Code users may prefer Cheat Master Morgana, Loot Hack users have an obvious reason to chase the Loot Hacker form, and aggressive players can combine Morgana's healing passive with the Bounty Hunter route.

The September 24 update makes Fortnite's Sprite system more combat-focused while Morgana adds one of the season's more useful sustain-oriented abilities.
