Fortnite x Persona 5 Royal: Joker, Ann and Morgana Join the Island

The Phantom Thieves are coming to Fortnite. Epic Games has dated its Persona 5 Royal collaboration for Friday, 25 September, when the Item Shop refreshes at 5 PM PT / 8 PM ET, and its official teaser shows three silhouettes: Joker and Ann Takamaki as Outfits, and Morgana as a Sidekick. The crossover has been part of Chapter 7 Season 4, Override, since the season launched — Joker was on its key art and appeared in-engine in an August teaser — but until now it had no date. Prices, bundles and extra cosmetics have not been announced. Here is what is confirmed, what the community has datamined, and when the skins actually go live where you are.

What Epic has confirmed

The official announcement is short, and it covers three things:

• The date and time. The Persona 5 items arrive with the Item Shop refresh on 25 September at 5 PM PT / 8 PM ET.
• Two Outfits. Joker, the Phantom Thieves' leader, and Ann Takamaki, codename Panther, join as full playable skins.
• One Sidekick. Morgana arrives as a Sidekick — Fortnite's companion cosmetic, a small character who follows your Outfit around rather than being worn. Given Morgana's size, it is the obvious fit, and it follows the same approach Override already used for Tails alongside Sonic.

That is the full list of confirmed content. Everything else attached to the collab so far comes from game files, and it belongs in a separate section.

When it goes live in your region

Because the refresh is tied to US Pacific time, the collab lands on 26 September for most of the world. The same moment converts to:

• 8 PM ET — Friday, 25 September
• 01:00 BST — Saturday, 26 September
• 02:00 CEST — Saturday, 26 September
• 07:00 WIB — Saturday, 26 September
• 08:00 SGT / PHT — Saturday, 26 September
• 09:00 JST — Saturday, 26 September

If you are in Southeast Asia, that means breakfast rather than a late night. The Item Shop refreshes on the same schedule every day, so if the Persona items are split across more than one day's shop — which Epic has not said — the next drop would arrive at the same local time.

What the community has datamined

Community dataminers have been pulling Persona 5 files from Fortnite's updates since the season began, and their findings match the teaser on the headline point: two Outfits and one Sidekick, with no other Phantom Thieves in the files. If you were hoping for Ryuji, Makoto or the rest of the team, the current build does not contain them.

Beyond that, the files reportedly point to:

• Alternate styles. A Shujin Academy uniform style for Joker, and an alternate look for Ann drawn from one of the series' spin-off appearances.
• A transformation emote for Joker, which would switch his outfit mid-match — a nod to the series' shift between school life and Metaverse infiltration.

None of this has been confirmed by Epic. Styles and emotes found in files are sometimes cut, delayed or sold separately, so treat these as likely rather than certain until the shop listing goes up. The same caution applies to anything gameplay-related: there is no confirmed Persona weapon, Mythic item or summon mechanic, and nothing in Epic's announcement suggests one.

Where it fits in Override

Chapter 7 Season 4 is built around gaming crossovers. Sonic the Hedgehog is the Battle Pass headliner with Tails as a Sidekick, Kingdom Hearts brought the Kingdom Key into the loot pool, and Mega Man, Pac-Man and Cyberpunk: Edgerunners content has followed through the season. Persona 5 was among the first crossovers Epic teased for Override, which makes this the payoff of a collaboration announced in August rather than a surprise drop.

The difference is the delivery. Sonic and Tails are Battle Pass rewards; the Persona 5 items are Item Shop cosmetics, bought with V-Bucks. That matters for planning, because shop items are available only while they are listed. Collab skins leave the shop after their initial run and return on no fixed schedule — some come back within months, some take much longer — so the launch window is the only guaranteed chance to buy them.

Should you buy them?

Pricing is the missing piece, and it decides a lot. Until Epic lists the items, the decision comes down to fit rather than budget:

• You're a Persona fan. This is the first time Joker and Ann have been playable here, the line-up is small, and a Sidekick-plus-Outfit pairing (Morgana following Joker) is the kind of combination that tends to be sold as a bundle. If the characters matter to you, the launch listing is the safe moment to buy.
• You collect crossover skins. A two-Outfit collab with a limited listing is a cabinet piece, and those tend to hold their appeal in the collector sense precisely because they are not always available.
• You don't know the series. Then wait for the listing, check the styles in the shop preview, and decide on the design. There is no gameplay advantage in any Fortnite cosmetic, so there is no reason to buy one you wouldn't wear.

Whichever applies, have your V-Bucks in place before the refresh. Launch-day shop items are available immediately, but a top-up that goes through after the listing rotates does not help.

Before 25 September

• Check your V-Bucks balance against a typical collab bundle price and top up ahead of the refresh.
• Note your local release time from the list above; for most of Asia and Europe, it is the morning or small hours of 26 September.
• Watch Epic's official channels for the full reveal. Epic usually shows collab skins in full shortly before they hit the shop, and that reveal will confirm or rule out the datamined styles and emote.
• Don't trust "early access" offers. Collab items cannot be obtained before the shop listing, and anything promising them early is a scam.
