Fortnite Chapter 7 Season 4: Override introduces two crossover items built for completely different roles. How to Find the New Override Items

The Mega Buster and Sonic Power Sneakers are part of Override’s refreshed seasonal loot pool. Epic Games has not announced a fixed boss, NPC, or guaranteed spawn for either item.

Your best approach is to:

• Land at a location containing several Chests

• Search floor loot and eliminated players

• Prioritize large POIs instead of isolated landmarks

• Leave space in your inventory before entering fights

• Check enemy loot after hearing either item nearby

Green Hill Zone is an appropriate location for testing the Sonic Power Sneakers, but Epic has not confirmed that the item is guaranteed to spawn there.

How the Mega Buster Works

The Mega Buster is an arm cannon with three firing options:

• Single energy pellets for fast pressure

• Quick-charged shots for stronger mid-fight attacks

• Long-charged explosive projectiles for maximum impact

Unlike many charged weapons, the Mega Buster can still be used while sprinting or slide-boosting. This makes it easier to prepare an attack without standing still and becoming an easy target.

Best Mega Buster Strategy

Use regular shots when an opponent is already exposed and you need immediate damage. Quick charges are better during medium-range fights where you only have a short window before the enemy reaches cover.

Save the long charge for:

• Enemies hiding behind predictable cover

• Players reviving or healing

• Opponents grouped in a small area

• An opening attack before your position is fully known

Do not hold a full charge while standing in the open. Begin charging behind terrain, then sprint or slide out just before releasing the projectile.

The Mega Buster should not completely replace a regular close-range weapon. Carry a Pump Shotgun or another reliable shotgun so you can swap immediately if an enemy survives the initial blast and pushes into your position.

How the Sonic Power Sneakers Work

The Sonic Power Sneakers provide two movement-based attacks:

• Grounded Spin Dash: Charge on the ground before launching forward

• Airborne Spin Attack: Attack while already in the air

The Spin Dash is useful for rapidly crossing open ground, escaping the Storm, chasing weakened opponents, or disengaging from an unfavorable fight.

The airborne Spin Attack is more aggressive. Use it after jumping from elevated terrain or when approaching an enemy from an unexpected angle.

Best Sonic Sneakers Strategy

Avoid using the Spin Dash directly toward an opponent holding a shotgun. Instead, dash past or around them to force a fast camera turn, then switch to your main weapon.

The sneakers are especially useful for:

• Rotating between POIs

• Escaping enemy fire

• Reaching high-priority loot first

• Closing the distance after dealing ranged damage

• Creating unpredictable entry angles in Zero Build

Movement is their greatest value. Do not waste the item only trying to deal direct damage when it could save you from a dangerous position.

Mega Buster and Sonic Sneakers Combo

If you find both items, they can create one of Override’s most flexible combinations.

A simple attack sequence is:

1. Charge the Mega Buster from behind cover.

2. Release the shot as the enemy becomes visible.

3. Switch to the Sonic Power Sneakers.

4. Spin Dash to a different angle.

5. Finish the fight with a shotgun or another close-range weapon.

You can also reverse the sequence by using the sneakers to gain an unexpected angle before firing a charged Mega Buster shot.

This combination is powerful, but it occupies two inventory slots. Make sure your remaining slots still cover close-range combat, healing, and a dependable conventional weapon.

Which Item Should You Carry?

Choose based on what your loadout is missing:

• Need ranged pressure: Carry the Mega Buster

• Need rotation and escape options: Carry the Sonic Power Sneakers

• Playing aggressively: The sneakers provide better chase potential

• Playing from cover: The Mega Buster offers stronger opening attacks

• Have enough healing and weapons: Consider carrying both

For most balanced loadouts, the Sonic Power Sneakers offer more general utility because mobility remains useful even when you are not fighting. The Mega Buster becomes more valuable when your team can distract opponents while you prepare charged shots.

Common Mistakes to Avoid

• Charging the Mega Buster while completely exposed

• Using only full charges and missing easy regular shots

• Spin Dashing directly into a prepared shotgun player

• Entering combat without an available follow-up weapon

• Carrying both crossover items but leaving no space for healing

• Assuming Green Hill Zone provides a guaranteed sneakers spawn

• Using every movement option to engage and having no escape route
