Arknights Endfield Dreamscape of Wind and Snow Part 2: What's Coming
By Michael Pras 20 September 2026, 22:00 WIB
Arknights: Endfield's Dreamscape of Wind and Snow version opens its second half on 24 September at 12:00 server time, and the official notes make it a busy one: Suiming, a new exploration map built as a single city-sized puzzle on a 15-minute time loop; a free 5★ Operator, Purrchena, with her weapon handed out at full copies; the return of 6★ Yvonne on a brand-new banner type called RE-Factor Headhunting; and a fresh Echoes of War season. The version itself has been live since 2 September, so nothing here requires a download — everything below unlocks on the day. Here is what arrives on the 24th, what it costs, and which deadlines sit on either side of it.
Where the version stands
Dreamscape of Wind and Snow launched on 2 September with Typhoeus, the Snowy Forest and the Winter Hunt banner. Endfield versions run in two halves, and GRYPHLINE's notes flag that some content "will unlock gradually over time" — the 24 September wave is that second unlock. The first-half content does not disappear on the 24th, but several of its deadlines land within days of it, which is why timing matters more for this wave than usual. The developer's own framing for the second half is the old city where a bell once rang, which points straight at the new map.
Suiming: a city built as one puzzle
Suiming is a new area in the Wuling region and the centrepiece of Part 2. The design brief, in the developer's words, was to turn an entire city into a puzzle. The city's tides rise and fall inside a repeating 15-minute time loop; as the water level changes, previously blocked streets and routes open up, and the objective is to recover the parts needed to repair the Waking Bell before the Blight Tide arrives. Each time the tide rises, time rewinds — but parts you have already collected are kept, so progress accumulates across loops even as the city resets. Environmental clues and fragments of the city's past build up the same way, loop by loop.
That structure matters for how you play it. A loop is short enough that a wrong turn costs minutes rather than an hour, and the retained-parts rule means the map rewards systematic exploration over speedrunning: learn which routes open at which water level, grab what is reachable, let the tide reset, and go again. The associated exploration mission, Bell of Recollection, carries the story side of the map.
Two events attach to the area from the 24th:
- Echoing Bell of an Old City guide event — complete specified missions in Suiming for Oroberyl ×1,200 and a Mark of Perseverance. It runs until the next version update.
- The Echoes of War season change (covered below) coincides with the map's opening.
Suiming is the reason to log in on the 24th. The free Operator is the reason to keep playing that week.
Purrchena: a free 5★ Defender with a full weapon set
The Purry Big Feline! RAWR! giveaway opens on 24 September at 12:00 server time and runs to the end of the version. Log in and take part in various game modes to claim:
- 5★ Operator Purrchena
- Purrchena's Token ×5, used to raise her Potential
- 5★ weapon Dessert Moment (Sword) ×6
Purrchena is a Physical Defender, introduced in the version's announcement as brand ambassador for the Ætherside Syndrome Relief Foundation. A free Defender matters because the role is the one most rosters under-invest in: damage dealers get the pulls, and the front line ends up being whoever was available. Five tokens and six weapon copies mean she arrives ready to build rather than as a base copy — which is unusual for a giveaway and worth claiming even if she does not slot into your main team today.
She is the free side of the 24th. The paid side is a returning 6★.
Yvonne returns on RE-Factor Headhunting
Resplendent Spectrum RE-Factor Headhunting #1 opens on 24 September at 12:00 and runs until the next version update, with a raised rate for 6★ Yvonne. The other 6★ Operators in its pool are Ember, Lifeng, Ardelia, Last Rite and Pogranichnik.
Two things are new here. First, RE-Factor Headhunting is a new banner type, and the notes state plainly that it uses different rules from the game's other headhunting banners without spelling those rules out; check the banner's in-game details before committing. Second, the notes confirm that Chartered HH Permits — the tickets you earn and buy for limited Operator banners — can now be used on RE-Factor banners as well, so permits saved from Winter Hunt are not stranded.
Alongside it, Tag Artist Issue RE-Factor Issue #1 opens on the same schedule with a raised rate for the 6★ Handcannon Artzy Tyrannical, in a pool with Wedge, Rapid Ascent, White Night Nova, JET, Chivalric Virtues and Sundered Prince.
Whether Yvonne is worth your permits is a roster question, not a power question. If you have been running without her since her first banner and your team leans on the role she fills, a rerun of a known kit with months of community testing behind it is the lowest-risk pull in the version. If you already own her, her weapon banner is the only decision left. If your account is built around Operators who do not synergise with her, the permits are better held: Winter Hunt closes on the 30th, and Typhoeus is the version's new kit. Our Arknights: Endfield 1.4 Homecoming breakdown covers how the Progression Overview and factory changes from the last two versions affect what a new 6★ actually costs to build.
Echoes of War: Season of Illusion
Echoes of War, the permanent challenge mode, rolls over on the 24th. Season of Virtuality closes at 11:59 server time, and Season of Illusion opens at 12:00, running to the next version update. Like its predecessor it has three cycles of three stages, adds three new stages, and pays Oroberyl ×300 for clearing all new stages on Normal.
Because star rewards reset with each cycle shift, the mode favours a stable core squad over niche counter-picks — the same logic our Echoes of War team guide laid out for the first season still applies. Clear anything you still need from Season of Virtuality before the 24th; its rewards close with it.
Deadlines on either side of the 24th
The second-half opening sits inside a dense two-week window:
- 24 September, 04:00 — Sanity Supply's first window closes (second window: 8–15 October)
- 24 September, 12:00 — Suiming, Purrchena giveaway, Yvonne and Artzy Tyrannical RE-Factor banners, Echoing Bell guide event, Season of Illusion all open
- 30 September, 11:59 — Winter Hunt (Typhoeus) closes
- 30 September, 12:00 — Snow Over Deep Woods guide event closes (Oroberyl ×1,200)
- 30 September, 16:00 — Chubby Lung Attacks AIC production event ends; its Goods Exchange stays open to 7 October, 04:00
- 1 October — Ridgeline Flows of Autumn sign-in (7 days, Oroberyl ×1,500), Runners' Steeplechase, OrbiPom! MERGE! web event
- 5 October — Umbral Monument's Marked by Dark Shadows series (4 stages) and the Monumental Etching: Shadow Marked event, to 19 October
- Deep Cold Issue (Typhoeus's weapon) runs until three Chartered banners have passed, so it outlasts Winter Hunt
The practical read: the 24th–30th overlap is where the version's pull decisions converge. Winter Hunt and Yvonne's banner are both live for six days, and the Chartered permits work on either. Decide before the 24th which one gets them. For the mode side, Umbral Monument's new series on 5 October is the next serious challenge content after Suiming; if Contingency Contract is more your speed, our Contingency Contract breakdown explains how the two modes differ.
Before 24 September
- Finish Season of Virtuality's star rewards; they close at 11:59.
- Claim the last day of Sanity Supply before 04:00.
- Decide Winter Hunt versus Yvonne, and stop mid-pity on whichever you are not taking.
- Push Wuling regional development — Suiming is a Wuling area, and the version raised the region's development cap.
- Bank stamina for the 24th; Suiming's guide event and Purrchena's giveaway both ask for activity across modes.
