Arena Breakout Infinite Anti-AFK Rules: Penalties & 10-Year Bans
By Sir Ayup 22 September 2026, 00:00 WIB
Arena Breakout: Infinite is cracking down on deliberate AFK play. The game's security team, B.D.C., announced tougher penalties for players who go inactive on purpose while still collecting rewards, naming Supply Run and Endless Zombie Mode as the modes where it has become most noticeable. Penalties scale with severity — lost raid rewards, Merit Score deductions and mode restrictions for most cases, longer restrictions for repeat offenders, and bans of up to ten years for the most serious. Squadmates who knowingly take part in the scheme can be sanctioned too. The announcement arrived days after Season 7 "Utopia" launched on 16 September, and it changes how "carrying" an idle friend should be thought about. Here is what the rules cover, what the penalties are, and how to stay clear of them.
What the studio is targeting
The problem B.D.C. describes is specific: players who stay inactive on purpose, for long stretches, while still receiving team supplies or Merit points earned by the rest of their squad. The studio says it found this behaviour during the previous season and again in recent testing, and it now treats it as a fair-play violation rather than harmless passivity.
Two modes are named:
- Supply Run, where team-based supply rewards make it possible to benefit from a squad's work without contributing.
- Endless Zombie Mode, where survival-based rewards can accumulate for a player who does nothing while teammates hold the line.
The common thread is rewards that are shared or time-based. Where the game pays out for simply being present, AFK becomes a way to farm, and that is what the new rules close.
The penalties
B.D.C. says the punishment depends on how serious the offence is. The announced range:
- Forfeiting the rewards earned in the affected raids
- Merit Score deductions — the game's conduct score, which drops with rule violations and limits access to features and modes as it falls
- Restrictions on specific modes
- Extended restrictions for repeat violations
- Account bans of up to ten years in the most serious cases
The escalation is the part to take seriously. A first offence is likely to cost rewards and Merit; doing it again extends the restrictions; organised or persistent abuse is where the ten-year ceiling applies.
Squadmates can be penalised too
The announcement goes further than the idle player. B.D.C. warns that attempting to repeat the scheme or knowingly participating in it can also lead to sanctions. In practice that covers the other side of the arrangement: a squad that deliberately carries an inactive account so it can collect rewards is part of the abuse, not a bystander to it.
That matters because the most common version of this isn't a stranger idling in a public lobby. It's a friend or alt account parked in a squad to pick up supplies. Under the new rules, the whole squad is exposed.
How to report it
If you run into a teammate who is deliberately inactive, the studio asks players to report them through the in-game complaint system or through official support. Reports are the evidence trail B.D.C. uses to separate deliberate AFK from ordinary disconnects.
What this doesn't cover
The announcement is aimed at deliberate inactivity used to collect rewards. It does not describe penalties for genuine disconnects, crashes or brief pauses, and there is no published inactivity timer. The sensible reading is that an honest connection problem is not the target — but the safest habit is to reconnect and play as soon as you can, and to contact official support if a technical issue leaves you idle for a long stretch.
Where this fits in ABI's rules
The anti-AFK update builds on the game's existing conduct rules, the "Ten Don'ts" published last October. Those already listed going AFK and team damage as negative behaviour punished with Merit Score hits and temporary bans of up to 30 days. The new announcement raises the ceiling for AFK abuse specifically, bringing its worst cases in line with the ten-year bans the game already applies elsewhere:
- Verified cheating carries a ten-year account and device ban, with compensation paid to players eliminated by a banned cheater.
- Illicit item farming, script use and account boosting carry earnings clawbacks, feature restrictions and bans of up to ten years.
- Deliberately teaming with cheaters is penalised; being matched with one through auto-match is not.
AFK farming now sits in the same bracket as the rest of the game's reward abuse.
How to stay safe
- Don't idle for rewards, in any mode, even briefly.
- Don't carry an inactive account in your squad — yours or a friend's.
- Reconnect quickly after a disconnect, and contact support if a technical problem keeps you idle.
- Report deliberate AFK teammates through the in-game complaint system.
- Watch your Merit Score. It is the first place a violation shows, and a low score limits what you can play.
For players chasing Season 7's competitive content, clean conduct is part of the entry cost. Events like the Warlord Tournament already gate access behind rank and stash requirements, and a Merit hit is an avoidable way to fall short. Seasonal events with their own reward rules, like the Winter Festival loot changes or the Resident Evil 4 collaboration, show how often the studio adjusts what can be earned and how — this update is the enforcement side of the same work.
