ZZZ Sigrid Build Guide: Best W-Engine, Discs and Teams

Sigrid de L'Azur is live now in Version 3.1's second phase as an S-Rank Ice Attack Agent built to be an on-field main DPS — and the single most useful thing to know before you gear her is that you should not build CRIT Rate. Her Core Passive supplies roughly 66% CRIT Rate on its own, which means the usual CRIT Rate main stat on your fourth disc is largely wasted on her. Build CRIT DMG instead. The rest of her kit revolves around Aerial Patrol Spear Form, a stance you enter and extend through specific attacks, and how well you maintain it decides most of her damage. Here's the full build.
Who she is
Sigrid is the fifth-generation Deputy Administrative Director of Roscaelifer's Airspace Patrol Department, ranking second only to the Lindverne Sunbringer. The department handles public security across the skyborne island's airspace, and in-world legend claims her combat prowess is enough to stand against a Void Hunter.
Mechanically: S-Rank, Ice attribute, Attack specialty, lance user, on-field main DPS.
Aerial Patrol Spear Form
Everything routes through this stance.
You enter it by using an Unbridled Spear attack. While active, Sigrid gains increased CRIT Rate and a single use of Converging Spear, her enhanced payoff attack.
Which attacks count as Unbridled Spear:
- The 4th hit of her Basic Attack chain
- Dodge Counter
- EX Special Attack
- Chain Attack
- Assist Follow-up
- Ultimate
Using an Unbridled Spear attack while already in the form extends its duration and refreshes Converging Spear. That's the loop: enter the stance, spend Converging Spear, use another Unbridled Spear attack to refresh and extend, repeat.
A duration timer appears under her portrait during battle — watch it rather than guessing.
The practical consequence: Sigrid punishes players who mash and rewards players who sequence. Rolling through the Basic chain to the 4th hit, using EX Special at the right moment, and taking Dodge Counters when the enemy offers them all feed the same engine. Dropping the stance means restarting from zero.
Stat priority — build CRIT DMG, not CRIT Rate
This is the build decision that separates a good Sigrid from a wasted one.
Because her Core Passive grants up to around 66% CRIT Rate, you can comfortably run CRIT DMG as your fourth disc main stat rather than chasing more CRIT Rate.
Substat priority:
- CRIT DMG
- ATK%
- CRIT Rate — only if you're short of the soft cap
- Penetration
Main stats:
- Disc 4: CRIT DMG
- Disc 5: Ice DMG, or Penetration Ratio if your substats favour it
- Disc 6: ATK%
That Disc 5 flexibility is worth knowing. Depending on how your substats roll, Pen Ratio can outperform Ice DMG — check both rather than defaulting.
Best W-Engines
Knight's Extolment is her best-in-slot signature. It's built specifically for Agents who lean on Basic Attacks and EX Special Attacks — which describes Sigrid's Unbridled Spear loop exactly — and it stacks CRIT DMG, feeding the same stat priority above.
If you're working with what you own, the logic to follow: prioritise W-Engines that boost CRIT DMG and support Basic Attack or EX Special damage over generic ATK options. Her damage concentrates in those two attack types, so a W-Engine that ignores them wastes its passive.
Best Drive Discs
Community consensus has landed on two viable directions:
4-piece Dawn's Bloom — the stronger option, since it substantially boosts Basic Attack damage, and Sigrid's damage runs through her Basic Attack chain into Converging Spear.
4-piece Woodpecker Electro — the alternative, providing a large CRIT Rate boost alongside ATK. Effective, though somewhat redundant given her Core Passive already covers CRIT Rate.
For the 2-piece, pair with any set that adds CRIT DMG, CRIT Rate or Ice damage. Woodpecker Electro works well here even if you're running Dawn's Bloom as your four-piece.
One caution: set recommendations for a new Agent typically shift in the first two weeks after release, as damage calculations settle and a dedicated set may follow. Check the in-game recommendations and give the community a fortnight before committing your best substat rolls.
Best teams
Sigrid is an on-field carry, which means the team is built around giving her field time and a stun window to burst into.
The structural principle: a Stunner to open a daze window, a Support to buff immediately before it, and Sigrid unloading her full Aerial Patrol Spear sequence inside it.
Norma is the most consistently recommended partner. She functions as a Stunner and a sub-DPS at once, providing damage buffs, off-field Daze and Chain Attack conversion — the last of which matters because Chain Attacks are Unbridled Spear attacks, feeding Sigrid's stance directly.
Sunna is the other name that recurs as a significant damage amplifier for her.
Astra Yao covers Support and sustain simultaneously while staying off-field, which is exactly what an on-field carry needs — buffs without competing for field time.
If you own none of those, apply the principle rather than the names: anyone who reliably stuns, and anyone who buffs without demanding field time.
Skill priority
Focus on the abilities that carry her loop:
- Basic Attack — the 4th hit is an Unbridled Spear attack and the backbone of her rotation
- EX Special Attack — her most reliable stance entry and a large damage source
- Core Skill — supplies the CRIT Rate that makes the whole build work
- Chain Attack and Ultimate afterwards
- Assist last
Should you pull?
Yes, if you want a premium Ice carry and enjoy sequenced combat. Sigrid's ceiling rewards execution — knowing which attacks refresh the stance and compressing her sequence into a stun window is where her damage lives.
Yes, if your Ice coverage is thin. She's a top-tier Ice option and covers a bracket some accounts still lack.
Consider skipping if you prefer straightforward carries. Her damage depends on maintaining a stance through deliberate inputs, and a player who drops the form repeatedly will get considerably less from her than the numbers suggest.
One timing note: her banner runs alongside Remielle's, which closes 8 September — and Version 3.2 is expected to follow shortly after with two more S-Ranks. Polychrome spent here is Polychrome unavailable then. Our 3.2 preview covers what's reportedly next.
What to do on day one
- Check her ascension and skill material requirements in the character screen before you spend Battery Charge anywhere else. Levelling her weapon and skills matters more than perfect discs in the first week.
- Farm Area Patrol for Dawn's Bloom and Woodpecker Electro. Volume beats optimisation early — get four pieces of a usable set on her before chasing ideal substats.
- Don't over-invest in discs immediately. Give the community a fortnight to settle her set ranking, then commit your best rolls.
- Level her Core Skill early. It's the source of the CRIT Rate that lets the entire CRIT DMG build work.
Her outfit, Majestic Wavechaser, also entered its discount window today at 1,350 Monochrome — our outfit guide explains why the discount, not the outfit, is the thing that expires.
Build her properly, not just quickly
