ZZZ Phoenix Kit Leaks: Team-Wide Anomaly CRIT and a Revive
By Rivan Wi 15 September 2026, 00:00 WIB
HoYoverse confirmed Phoenix Reffaella on 12 September — an S-Rank Fire Anomaly Agent arriving in Version 3.3. The official Agent Record contains an experimental report describing a subject who is unable to die.
Beta datamines suggest that isn't flavour text. Her leaked kit includes a self-resurrection, alongside something rarer: Anomaly damage that can critically hit, for the entire squad.
Here's the split between what HoYoverse confirmed and what the beta build shows.
The short version
- Officially confirmed: S-Rank, Fire, Anomaly, Krampus Compliance Authority. Version 3.3.
- Banner dates and abilities have not been officially announced.
- Beta datamines indicate a Core Skill granting team-wide Anomaly CRIT and a 300-second self-revive.
- Version 3.3 is expected around 21 October — a community estimate from the 42-day cycle, not an announcement.
- Severian Lowell arrives in the same version as an S-Rank Wind Attack Agent.
What HoYoverse actually confirmed
The Agent Record published on 12 September establishes:
- Phoenix Reffaella, S-Rank
- Attribute: Fire. Specialty: Anomaly.
- Faction: Krampus Compliance Authority
- Debuting in Version 3.3
She's one of Krampus's Judges, alongside Banyue, Dialyn, Zhao and Promeia. She was first mentioned at the climax of Version 2.8's main story, and made two brief appearances in 3.2 — once at the start, struggling to reach Amber Hall, and again near the end.
Per Zhao, aside from the boss, nobody in Krampus can beat her — though he notes that giving her a title like "Unbeaten Legend" would likely make her collapse from embarrassment.
Banner details and abilities were not part of the reveal.
The lore detail that isn't just lore
Her Agent Record includes an experimental report stating its subject is "unable to die."
The description is specific: when the subject's vitals decline, their body draws on concentrated Ether reserves and enters a state described as "transcendence."
For a character called Phoenix, that's not subtle. And according to the beta build, it's mechanical rather than narrative.
The beta kit
Everything below comes from datamined beta builds, not from HoYoverse. The official Zenless Zone Zero wiki prohibits datamined content entirely, and ZZZ routinely adjusts values between beta and release. Version 3.3 is roughly five weeks out. Treat these as directional, not final.
Core Skill (beta):
- Phoenix's Anomaly Proficiency increases by 40 points.
- When any squad member deals Attribute Anomaly DMG, the enemy becomes [Weakened] for 20 seconds.
- When a [Weakened] enemy takes Attribute Anomaly DMG, there's a chance to critically hit — base CRIT Rate 30%, CRIT DMG 15%.
- If Phoenix's Anomaly Mastery exceeds 145 points, every additional point adds 0.7% CRIT Rate to that effect.
- After Phoenix is defeated and leaves the field, a [Resurrection] effect can trigger, letting her be switched back in at 50% Max HP. Once every 300 seconds.
Additional Ability (beta):
- Triggers when another squad member is an [Anomaly] character or from the same Faction.
- With 2 or 3 Anomaly characters in the squad, CRIT DMG against [Weakened] enemies rises to 25% / 40%.
Other skills (beta):
- On entering [Downed], on being switched in, or entering via Quick Assist: surrounds herself with flames, dealing Fire DMG to nearby enemies and continuously recovering her own HP.
- Chain Attack: multiple forward attacks dealing Fire DMG, counting as a [Burning Attack]. If in [Dissolution] state, exits it and increases that Chain Attack's Anomaly buildup by 30%. Invulnerable during the animation.
Why team-wide Anomaly CRIT matters
This is the part that would make Phoenix significant rather than merely good.
Attribute Anomaly damage in Zenless Zone Zero does not critically hit by default. It's calculated separately from direct damage and ignores your CRIT stats entirely — which is why Anomaly builds prioritise Anomaly Proficiency and Mastery over CRIT Rate and CRIT DMG.
The one established exception has been Jane Doe's Mindscape Cinema 2, which enables Anomaly CRIT for her — and Mindscapes require duplicate pulls most players never get.
Phoenix's leaked Core Skill applies that effect to the whole squad, from her base kit. If the datamine holds, she turns a Mindscape-gated mechanic into something obtainable with a single copy.
That would reshape Anomaly gearing. Discs and stats currently treated as dead weight on Anomaly units become live, and team compositions built around stacking Anomaly damage gain a multiplier they've never had access to.
It's also why the 145 Anomaly Mastery threshold matters. Every point past it converts into CRIT Rate at 0.7%, which means Anomaly Mastery stops being a soft stat and becomes a direct scaling target with a defined breakpoint.
The revive is more useful than it sounds
A 300-second cooldown self-resurrection at 50% HP looks modest on paper. In practice it's aimed at a specific problem.
In Shiyu Defense and Deadly Assault, losing an Agent usually ends the attempt. There's no recovery — you restart. A free revive on a five-minute cooldown means one mistake stops being run-ending in the game modes where mistakes cost the most.
And it fits the lore exactly, which is unusual. Most characters' mechanics and stories run on separate tracks; here the Agent Record's "unable to die" report and the kit's Resurrection effect describe the same thing.
Severian, briefly
The same reveal confirmed Severian Lowell — S-Rank, Wind, Attack, from the Metropolitan Order Division of New Eridu Public Security.
He's Seth Lowell's older brother, teased since Version 1.1 through dialogue between Phaethon and Seth, and first appeared as a commission-exclusive NPC in Version 2.6 as Cissia's boss.
He'll be the first Agent to wield a giant sword. His playable model has changed significantly since his NPC appearance, particularly the outfit.
His kit hasn't surfaced.
Timing and what isn't known
Version 3.3 has no announced date. The commonly cited 21 October comes from counting 42 days from Version 3.2's 9 September launch — a pattern, not a confirmation. The 3.3 Special Program will settle it.
Also unannounced:
- Banner order. Phoenix in Phase 1 and Severian in Phase 2 is a leak-based expectation.
- Severian's full kit.
- Rerun Agents. Banyue and Cissia are mentioned in leaks.
- Final values for everything above.
What to do
Don't rebuild your Anomaly Discs yet. If Anomaly CRIT becomes real, gearing priorities shift — but not until the numbers are official.
Note the 145 Anomaly Mastery figure as something to verify rather than build toward. Breakpoints are exactly the sort of value that moves between beta and release.
Bank Polychrome through 3.2. With 3.3 roughly five weeks out and two S-Ranks arriving, a version of saving costs nothing.
Wait for the 3.3 Special Program before committing to a pull plan. That's when dates lock and kits become official.
Treat every number in this article as provisional. The Agent Record is confirmed; the kit is datamined.
Building the Anomaly core
An Agent who multiplies team-wide Anomaly damage only pays off on a squad already built for it — and Drive Discs, W-Engines and Skill levels are the slow half of Zenless Zone Zero, not the pulling.
