ZZZ Orbie Parent Event Opens Sept 30: The Tamagotchi Mode Explained
By Sir Ayup 30 September 2026, 02:00 WIB
Zenless Zone Zero Version 3.2 adds a virtual-pet event on September 30. Diary of an Orbie Parent runs until October 19 and hands each Proxy an Orbie to feed, bond with and, by most accounts, house. HoYoverse has published its dates, requirements and a two-line description; the full event notice with mechanics and a reward list had not appeared at the time of writing. Here is what is confirmed, what the Special Program and early coverage add, and why the event's daily shape matters more than its rewards.
The short version
- Event window: September 30, 10:00 to October 19, 03:59, server time.
- Requirements: Inter-Knot Lv. 20 and Main Story Chapter 1 – Intermission.
- Official description: press a button to feed it and max out your bond. Version 3.2 also adds titles tied to the event.
- From the 3.2 Special Program: you are given a virtual Orbie to raise, and completing event missions provides the materials to feed it.
- From early coverage, unconfirmed by HoYoverse: food also comes from daily logins and spending Battery Charge, the Orbie's home can be decorated, and rewards include Polychromes and an exclusive title.
- September 30 is also the day Phase 2 opens with Roxy's banner and the "En-Nah" Into Your Lap login event for Boopon ×10.
- The event closes October 19 alongside Pinball Knight, Chronicles of the Hobbling Crow and the doubled Combat Simulation. Version 3.2 itself ends October 21, 06:00 UTC+8.
What HoYoverse has actually said
The Version 3.2 update announcement lists Diary of an Orbie Parent with its dates, its Inter-Knot Lv. 20 and Chapter 1 – Intermission requirements, and two lines of flavor text about feeding and bonding. The same announcement notes that titles related to the event are being added. That is the full official record.
The 3.2 Special Program, which is also official, framed it as a Tamagotchi-style mode: Proxies receive a virtual orb, raise it, and earn feeding materials by completing the event's missions. The livestream did not give reward totals or the daily loop.
Everything more specific — food from logins and Battery Charge, home decoration, Polychrome amounts — comes from event previews written from the livestream and pre-release information. Those details are plausible and consistent with each other, but they are not yet in a HoYoverse notice, and this article treats them accordingly.
How the mode is expected to work
Putting the official framing and the early coverage together, the loop looks like this:
- You receive an Orbie at the start of the event.
- Feeding it raises its growth and your bond level.
- Food is earned by completing event missions, and reportedly by logging in daily and by spending Battery Charge in regular content.
- The Orbie has a living space you can decorate, and it can be interacted with directly.
- Rewards are tied to progress, with Polychromes and an exclusive title as the headline items.
The design detail to notice is where the food comes from. If the daily-login and Battery Charge sources are real, the event is not a task you complete in one sitting. It is a small daily obligation layered on top of the Battery you were already spending. That is a different shape from Pinball Knight or Shadow Chase Showdown, which can be cleared in a session or two whenever you get to them.
Why the daily shape matters
Tamagotchi-style events reward showing up, not skill. The consequence follows directly: if food is gated behind daily logins, a day you skip is a day of food you never get, and the bond ceiling you can reach by October 19 drops accordingly. Nineteen days of logins is the maximum; every missed day subtracts from it. The same is true, with less severity, if Battery Charge feeds the Orbie — Battery regenerates on a clock, and Battery you don't spend today doesn't double tomorrow.
None of that is confirmed. But it is the single fact about this event that changes behavior, which is why the official notice, when it lands, is worth reading for that line before anything else. If the notice says food comes only from missions, the event can be done at your own pace. If it says daily, the calendar is the mechanic.
The September 30 pile-up
Diary of an Orbie Parent does not arrive alone. September 30 at 10:00 server time also opens:
- Phase 2 of 3.2, with Roxy (S-Rank Wind Stun) on the Cindernight Respite banner and Promeia returning.
- "En-Nah" Into Your Lap, a seven-day login event paying Boopon ×10.
Both the Orbie event and the Boopon login are login-driven, and the Angels of Delusion check-in (Surprise Screening Plan) has been running since September 23 with its own daily requirement. A Proxy who is casual about logins in early October is now missing three things at once, not one. For anyone pulling for Roxy, the Polychromes from Orbie Parent are a small but free addition in the same window.
The October 19 close
Four events end at 03:59 on October 19: Diary of an Orbie Parent, Clink, Clank, Pinball Knight!, Chronicles of the Hobbling Crow (which opens October 3), and the doubled Combat Simulation (October 14–19). The version ends two days later on October 21.
The practical reading: the last week of 3.2 is congested. Pinball Knight and Hobbling Crow are session-based and can be pushed to the end. If Orbie Parent turns out to be daily, it is the one that cannot, and it should be the one you never skip rather than the one you save.
What isn't known
- The full mechanics. Feeding, bond levels, decoration and interaction are described by the Special Program and early coverage, not by a published event notice.
- Where food comes from, officially. Missions are confirmed; daily logins and Battery Charge are reported.
- The reward list. Polychromes and a title are expected; amounts and any additional items are unpublished.
- Whether the Orbie persists after the event. Nothing has been said about what happens to it on October 19.
- What an Orbie is in-world. The event name and flavor text are the only official references so far.
What to do
- Log in on September 30 and read the event notice first. The line about food sources tells you whether this is a daily commitment or a checklist.
- If it is daily, treat it like the login events. One visit a day, feed the Orbie, leave. Missed days are not recoverable.
- Spend Battery as you normally would. If Battery feeds the Orbie, no change in routine is needed; if it doesn't, nothing is lost.
- Don't save it for the last week. October 12–19 already holds Hobbling Crow, doubled Combat Simulation and the Pinball Knight deadline.
- Stack the September 30 logins. Orbie Parent, "En-Nah" Into Your Lap and Surprise Screening Plan all reward the same visit.
