Everything Revealed in ZZZ 3.0 'Sleepwalker'
By GameMarket Team 16 June 2026, 02:20 WIB
Zenless Zone Zero Version 3.0 launches June 17, 2026, skipping 2.9 to open Season 3 with the franchise's first Wind Agent, a free story Agent, and a full Steam debut. Titled "A Sleepwalker's Confession," the update sends Proxies to the floating sky city of Roscaelifer, adds a brand-new combat element, two limited S-Rank banners, permanent game modes, and a stack of Season 3 launch rewards. Here's everything confirmed before the patch goes live.
šļø ZZZ 3.0 Release Date & the Jump Past 2.9
Version 3.0 goes live on June 17, 2026, arriving straight after Version 2.8 ā HoYoverse is skipping 2.9 entirely to fast-track the Season 3 era. Version 2.8 runs until June 16, so Proxies have until then to wrap up the Season 2 finale before the new arc begins. For how that storyline closes out and bridges into Season 3, ourĀ ZZZ 2.8 Season 2 finale breakdownĀ covers the full setup.
Version 3.0 also doubles as the game's second-anniversary season opener, and it lands alongside the title's official Steam launch.
- Release date:Ā June 17, 2026
- Version skipped:Ā 2.9 (the game jumps 2.8 ā 3.0)
- Platforms:Ā PS5, Xbox Series X|S, PC, iOS, Android, and Steam
- Season:Ā Season 3 ā "A Sleepwalker's Confession," the second-anniversary arc
šŖļø Wind Arrives ā ZZZ's First New Element
The headline mechanical change in 3.0 is the debut of the Wind attribute, the first brand-new element added to Zenless Zone Zero since launch. Wind opens an entirely new Anomaly playstyle built around a status called Windswept, which sets up a unique Vortex reaction when paired with a second Attribute Anomaly. That makes Wind less of a standalone damage type and more of a reaction enabler ā it rewards mixed-element Anomaly squads rather than mono-Wind teams.
⨠Velina ā The First Wind Anomaly Agent
Velina headlines Phase 1 as the first-ever Wind Agent in the roster. She's an S-Rank Anomaly DPS and the Administrative Director of the External Strategy Department (ESD), the new faction at the center of the Season 3 story.
In combat, Velina stacks Wind Anomaly buildup to push enemies into the Windswept state, then triggers Vortex when another Attribute Anomaly is present ā the core of her damage identity. She also plays surprisingly tanky for an Anomaly carry, with damage reduction woven into her attack chain, so she can hold the field longer than most DPS Agents.
Her debut banner runs in Phase 1 of 3.0 alongside a rerun for Ye Shunguang. If you're already building toward Anomaly comps and want a feel for how the archetype scales, ourĀ in-depth Promeia buildĀ breaks down the Ice Anomaly detonation loop that Velina's Wind kit is designed to play alongside.
š„ Norma ā Fire Stun Specialist
Joining in Phase 2 is Norma, an S-Rank Fire Stun Agent and the ESD's Chief Technician. Her gimmick is genuinely unusual: she fights using her hat, building a resource called Preheated Chamber that converts teammates' Quick Assists into Chain Attacks. The payoff is more frequent Chain Attack windows for the whole squad, making her a strong fit for stun-and-burst rotations.
Norma's debut banner runs in Phase 2 alongside a rerun for Sunna.
š Pyrois ā A Free Agent for Every Proxy
Season 3 opens with a generous launch gift: Pyrois, an Agent tied to the Phaethon faction (the protagonist's own Etheric combat form), handed to every Proxy for free simply by progressing through the 3.0 story. Alongside Pyrois, HoYoverse is gifting a set of Season 3-themed Proxy outfits as launch rewards.
A free Agent on top of a new element and two paid banners makes 3.0 one of the more value-stacked patches in the game's history ā even F2P Proxies walk away with a new unit just for playing the story.
šļø Roscaelifer ā The Floating Sky City
The new region is Roscaelifer, a floating sky island and the setting for the entire Season 3 arc. The story kicks off with the protagonist traveling there to treat a mysterious Ether energy that has surfaced within their body, where ESD members Velina and Norma help them uncover the Pyrois power. Meanwhile, the city is rocked by a string of Bangboo self-destruction incidents, and a new figure ā Remielle Dan ā makes her entrance, tied to the mystery of the Sunbringer.
Exploration gets fresh toys, too. Roscaelifer introduces a sky bus for getting around, the Universal Terminal's cameras, and a new area called the Scamall Hollow, plus a daily-activity loop where Proxies open random cookies for rewards.
š¤ New Permanent Game Modes
Beyond the story, 3.0 adds two permanent modes that stick around after the patch ends:
- Bangboo Command mode:Ā nurture and command squads of Bangboo to repair the Central Computing Hub by completing chip research missions
- Annihilation Simulacrum:Ā a new permanent battle mode for combat-focused Proxies
A run of timed launch events also hands out a Tuning Calibrator, a W-Engine, Polychromes, a title, and more ā worth clearing early before they expire.
āļø Quality-of-Life & PC Upgrades
3.0 ships several overdue convenience changes, plus a major technical boost for PC players.
- Drive Discs:Ā one-click batch discard for unwanted pieces
- Outfits:Ā protagonist outfit accessories can be mixed freely across all outfits
- PC visuals:Ā ray tracing, DLSS Super-Resolution, and Frame Generation added

š° Should You Save Your Polychrome?
With two S-Rank banners, a new element, and a free Agent all landing at once, 3.0 is a patch that rewards planning ahead. Velina is the bigger pull for most rosters ā a first-of-its-kind Wind Anomaly carry has no direct replacement ā while Norma's value scales with how much you lean on Chain Attack and stun teams.
