Umamusume New SSR Support Cards: Oguri Cap and Yaeno Muteki

Two new SSR Support Cards are live in Scout from 7 September (UTC): [Run Forth! Dash On! Ever Forward!] Oguri Cap, a Wit card, and [Pious Flame, Heavens Scorcher] Yaeno Muteki, a Guts card.
They're aimed at different players, and the difference sits in one line each.
Oguri Cap's Unique Perk raises the Initial Friendship Gauge for selected Support Cards — not for herself. That's a deck-wide effect rather than a self-buff, which is unusual and makes her worth more in a built deck than her own stat line suggests.
Yaeno Muteki's Unique Perk is Guts Bonus at Friendship Gauge 100+ — entirely self-contained, and gated behind reaching a full gauge with her specifically.
Oguri Cap: the numbers
Friendship Bonus 35% is the headline, and it's high. Most SSR support cards sit meaningfully below that, and Friendship Bonus is the stat that decides how much a rainbow training session is actually worth.
The rest of her Lv50 kit:

- Training Effectiveness 10%
- Initial Friendship Gauge 15
- Race Bonus 5%, Fan Bonus 10%
- Hint Levels Lv2, Hint Frequency 30%

Specialty Priority and Wit Friendship Recovery are the two that matter beyond the friendship number. Specialty Priority raises how often she appears in her preferred training, and Wit Friendship Recovery adds energy back from Wit friendship training. A Wit card that shows up in Wit training more often and returns energy when it does is the profile that lets you train through a career without stopping to rest.
Career event skill: Solid Strike, 170 skill points. It moderately increases velocity and acceleration approaching late-race when leading or within four lengths of the lead.
Note the Pace tag on that skill. It's role-conditional — useful if you run Pace strategies, considerably less so otherwise. A 170-point skill you can't trigger is 170 points spent badly.
Yaeno Muteki: the numbers
Friendship Bonus 20% and Initial Friendship Gauge 35 — the reverse of Oguri's shape. Yaeno starts you closer to rainbow training; Oguri makes rainbow training worth more once you get there.
Her Lv50 kit:

- Initial Speed 20, Initial Power 20, Initial Guts 30
- Race Bonus 5%, Fan Bonus 10%
- Hint Levels Lv2, Hint Frequency 30%

Three initial stat bonuses plus a 35 initial gauge is a strong opening, and that's genuinely useful — early career turns are where friendship training is hardest to reach.
Career event skill: Killer Tunes, 160 skill points, improving positioning ability when positioned toward the front mid-race.
The honest caveat is the training type. Guts decks are narrower than Speed, Power or Wit decks, and a Guts support card's value depends heavily on whether you're building a Uma who actually needs Guts. Yaeno's stat spread — Speed and Power alongside the Guts — softens that, but it doesn't eliminate it.
The comparison, plainly
Oguri Cap scales with your deck. Her perk buffs other cards, her Friendship Bonus is high, and her Wit utility supports the whole career rather than one training type. She's better the more you already have.
Yaeno Muteki front-loads. High initial gauge, three initial stats, and a self-contained perk. She helps most at the start of a run and in decks specifically built around Guts.
If you can only chase one and you're building a general deck, the Wit card is the safer pick. If you already have Wit coverage and a Guts hole, that calculation changes.

That line matters more than anything else on the card. The 35% Friendship Bonus, the 50 Specialty Priority, the 35 Initial Friendship Gauge — none of those are what you get from a single fresh copy. Reaching Lv50 requires limit breaking and investment, and a card at low level performs nowhere near its published numbers.

Before you pull
- Check what your deck is missing, not what looks strongest. Support card value in Umamusume is positional — a fifth Speed card does far less than a first Wit card.
- Decide whether you can limit break. A single copy of a strong card frequently loses to a maxed copy of a mediocre one.
- Know which reset you're waiting for. Umamusume Global runs two: 15:00 UTC for the daily reset — daily missions, daily login, and the discounted daily scout — and 22:00 UTC for banner and event changes. New Scout banners flip on the 22:00 one, which is why published banner windows read as 10:00 p.m. to 9:59 p.m. UTC.
- Check the Featured Cards section on the top right of the Scout screen, as the announcement directs, for the full banner details and rates.
- Match the career event skills to your running style. Solid Strike is Pace-tagged and Killer Tunes rewards front positioning — neither is universally useful.
