7DS Origin Half Anniversary: Version 2.0, Rewards & What’s Coming
By Sir Ayup 25 August 2026, 00:00 WIB
The Seven Deadly Sins: Origin enters its Half-Anniversary with Version 2.0 on August 26, 2026, and this update is much larger than a single character release. Netmarble is using the milestone to lower the entry barrier to Raids, extend Engraved Equipment progression, introduce the new weekly Maze, restructure high-end Boss Challenge competition, and begin the game's first official rerun vote.
There are also substantial celebration rewards. SSR Meliodas is becoming guaranteed, daily Draw Tickets are planned through a Seven Deadly Sins gift event, and Lucky Snatch will distribute Star Fragments from a 500 million Star Fragment global pool.
The most important point is that the celebration does not end with Version 2.0. Netmarble says the Half-Anniversary will continue through Version 2.1, where reruns, the Ferzen Mines Raid, and additional Boss Challenge difficulties are planned.
Version 2.0 Is the Start of a Two-Part Half Anniversary
Version 1.8 was deliberately positioned as the bridge into the Half-Anniversary, with its current limited content ending around the August 26 maintenance. GameMarket's 7DS Origin 1.8: Derieri, Hunting Event and What Ends 26 August covers those remaining deadlines separately.
Version 2.0 changes the focus.
Rather than simply raising difficulty again, Netmarble is trying to accommodate players at two very different progression points. Developing accounts get an easier route into Raid content, while established accounts receive new equipment progression and higher competitive challenges.
The Half-Anniversary content itself will then continue into Version 2.1 rather than disappearing after one update.
SSR Meliodas Becomes Guaranteed
One of the largest Half-Anniversary changes is not a new mode at all.
Netmarble plans to make SSR Meliodas guaranteed for players.
Starting with Version 2.0, new players will receive Meliodas as the confirmed reward from the first tutorial draw. Existing players are also set to receive Meliodas as part of the celebration.
There is a separate rule for accounts that have already fully developed him.
If Meliodas has reached Potential Level 10 with all Potential activated, the reward will instead be:
180 Star Trace Crystalloids
Netmarble has not yet fixed the exact distribution timing for existing accounts in the Developer Notes, saying that detail will be provided in the Version 2.0 update notice.
For players receiving him for the first time, GameMarket's 7DS Origin Meliodas Build: Best Weapons & Teams covers his existing weapon and team options.
Ban Also Arrives on August 26
Version 2.0 also brings Ban, finally completing the playable lineup of the original Seven Deadly Sins.
His release is important, but there is little reason to repeat his full character preview here. His weapon paths, combat identity, and the details that were still unresolved before launch are covered separately in 7DS Origin Ban Preview: What We Know.
For the Half-Anniversary itself, the important detail is simple: Ban joins on August 26, at the same transition point as Version 2.0.
Raid Hard Lowers the Entry Barrier
Version 2.0 adds a new Raid [Hard] difficulty.
Despite its name, Hard sits below the existing Hell and Abyss progression and is intended as an easier entry point for players who have not been able to push into the upper Raid tiers.
The reward rules are particularly important.
Raid Hard:
- Requires lower recommended Combat Power than Hell
- Provides the same Star Fragment amount as Abyss
- Does not provide Mystic Tokens
- Does not drop Raid equipment
This gives developing accounts access to the periodic Star Fragment supply without requiring them to immediately meet the existing Abyss progression wall.
Version 2.0 also improves Raid [Hell].
Hell will begin dropping Quality 120 Raid equipment, giving players another step between the new entry-level Hard difficulty and Abyss progression.
The structure is therefore easier to understand:
Hard → Star Fragment access
Hell → Star Fragments + entry-level Raid equipment
Abyss → established high-end Raid progression
That should make Raid progression considerably less binary for players who previously found Abyss too large a jump.
Transcendence Refinement Pushes Equipment Beyond +5
Veteran accounts are getting a progression system of their own.
Transcendence Refinement expands the existing Engraved Equipment system beyond its current refinement ceiling.
Eligible Engraved Equipment can go through three unlock processes per stage. Successful unlocks add options to the existing equipment and eventually allow refinement beyond the current +5 limit.
Completing all unlock processes can provide:
- 2 additional options
- 1 Engraved Equipment passive
- Access to higher refinement stages
There is an element of risk.
Transcendence Refinement unlock attempts can succeed or fail. A failed attempt consumes the growth material used, although there is no additional failure penalty preventing another attempt.
That makes the new material economy worth watching after Version 2.0 launches. Players who already have several +5 Engraved Equipment pieces will have a new long-term resource sink rather than simply sitting at the existing progression ceiling.
Maze Is the New Weekly Roster Mode
Those Transcendence materials also connect directly to Version 2.0's new Maze.
Maze is being positioned differently from the game's recent high-difficulty content. Instead of another pure combat check, it is designed as lighter weekly content built around roster use, choices, and hero placement.
Players advance deeper by responding to changing conditions involving hero:
- Attributes
- Roles
- Number of available appearances
- Placement choices
Each hero has a limited number of entries, meaning roster breadth matters.
Players with a wider selection of developed heroes should have more flexibility for pushing deeper, although Netmarble says supplementary systems are being prepared so newer accounts can still make some progress.
Maze also has its own exchange shop.
Its rewards include materials used for Transcendence Refinement and even some Potential Points, creating a clear weekly progression loop:
Build a wider roster → progress deeper into Maze → earn growth materials → improve Engraved Equipment
For many accounts, Maze may end up being one of the most consistently useful additions in the update.
Boss Challenge Gets Transcendence Difficulty
At the opposite end of the difficulty spectrum is Boss Challenge [Transcendence].
This new difficulty is not primarily designed to make material farming dramatically more efficient. Instead, Netmarble intends it to become the new standard for Time Attack ranking competition after Version 2.0.
Its base rewards match the existing Abyss difficulty.
Transcendence Refinement materials will also be available from Transcendence, but importantly, the same materials are being added to Boss Challenge [Abyss] as well.
That distinction means players do not necessarily need to compete at the new ranking difficulty just to obtain the new equipment-growth materials.
For competitive players, however, Transcendence becomes the new place to chase faster clears.
Players Will Choose the First Official Rerun
Version 2.0 will also begin Origin's first official rerun process.
Instead of Netmarble simply announcing the returning hero, players will vote through the official website.
The survey includes six previously featured heroes, with the highest-ranked choices set to appear as the game's first official rerun heroes.
There is an important timing distinction:
The vote happens as part of Version 2.0.
The actual first rerun pickup is planned for the update following Version 2.0.
So players should not expect the rerun banner itself to immediately replace the Version 2.0 banner lineup on August 26.
That also gives players another reason to avoid spending every available resource immediately. Version 2.1 will bring another set of roster decisions shortly afterward.
Half-Anniversary Free Rewards
The celebration includes several reward events beyond Meliodas.
A Small Gift from The Seven Deadly Sins
Netmarble is preparing a daily event where players meet a different Seven Deadly Sins hero each day and receive the prepared Draw Tickets.
The structure is straightforward: return daily, meet the featured Sin, and collect the reward.
Lucky Snatch
Lucky Snatch is the more unusual Half-Anniversary reward event.
A total pool of 500 million Star Fragments is being prepared across all regions.
Players can earn a draw opportunity each day by completing a simple mission, with a single Lucky Snatch draw capable of awarding up to 30,000 Star Fragments.
That does not mean every player receives 30,000. It is the maximum possible result from an individual draw.
Netmarble has also said additional growth rewards and Star Fragments will be available through the wider Version 2.0 celebration.
Don't Miss the Appreciation Reward
A separate Half-Anniversary Appreciation Reward has also been distributed through the mailbox.
The package contains:
- Radiant Potion of Charm ×3
- Ingot Selection Chest ×5
- Remnants of the Rift ×5
- Lichdragon's Roar Weapon Selection Chest ×1
The mailbox claim window ends September 1 at 14:59 UTC.
Unlike the progression systems that will remain relevant throughout Version 2.0, this one has a hard claim deadline. Grab it before worrying about long-term optimization.
Version 2.1 Continues the Celebration
Version 2.0 is only the first half.
Netmarble has already outlined several additions planned for Version 2.1, including:
- The first rerun heroes selected through the Version 2.0 vote
- Ferzen Mines Raid
- Higher difficulties for existing Boss Challenges
- Additional Half-Anniversary content
This makes Version 2.0 less of a self-contained anniversary patch and more of the first stage in a two-version progression cycle.
For resource planning, that matters.
Players interested in Ban or the Version 2.0 systems still have to account for whatever rerun result and progression changes arrive immediately afterward.
What to Do Before August 26
There is no need to overcomplicate preparation.
The most useful checklist is:
- Finish any Version 1.8 limited content you still care about.
- Check the Version 1.8 deadline guide before maintenance.
- Keep some flexible upgrade resources rather than committing everything before the new systems arrive.
- Check your Meliodas Potential if you already own him.
- Claim any mailbox rewards before their respective deadlines.
- Wait for the live Version 2.0 update notice before making assumptions about exact distribution times.
- Treat the rerun vote as preparation for Version 2.1 rather than an immediate Version 2.0 banner.
For developing accounts, the new Raid Hard difficulty may be the most immediately useful progression change.
For established accounts, Maze and Transcendence Refinement will probably demand more attention because they create entirely new weekly and equipment-growth loops.
The Half Anniversary Is More Than a Ban Update
Ban may be the most recognizable new face attached to August 26, but Version 2.0 is fundamentally a progression update.
Newer players receive easier Raid access and guaranteed Meliodas availability. Mid-progress accounts get a clearer route from Hard into Hell and Abyss. Endgame players gain Transcendence Refinement and a new Time Attack difficulty. And almost everyone has a reason to engage with Maze, anniversary rewards, and the rerun vote.
That broader structure is what makes the Half-Anniversary worth paying attention to even if Ban is not a priority for your roster.
And because the celebration continues through Version 2.1, spending and progression decisions made on August 26 should be viewed as the start of the anniversary cycle rather than the end of it.
