🎄 When & Where: Welcome Back to the Christmas Village

RuneScape’s Christmas Village has reopened for the 2025 festive season and it’s bigger than ever.

You can beam straight there by using the Christmas Village lodestone and heading to the Land of Snow. This year, the Queen of Snow herself is in town, hosting a grand tournament and seasonal events across the village.

The event runs from the December update until January 4, 23:59 game time, giving you plenty of time to wrap up your holiday grinds.

❄️ New Seasonal Quest: “Cold Front” & Returning Stories

This year’s headline story is:

🧊 “Cold Front”

You’ll team up with the Queen of Snow to run a snowman tournament—except she wants absolute perfection. Expect lots of snow, lots of prep, and plenty of icy diva energy from the Queen.

Also returning with the Christmas Village:

  • “A Christmas Reunion”

  • “It’s Snow Bother”

These are seasonal quests only:

  • They don’t award Quest Points

  • They’re not required for the Quest Cape

They’re here for story, laughs, and a bit of Christmas chaos, not for main progression pressure.

🎅 Santa’s Lodge, Nice List & Black Partyhat Raffle

Up the hill from the main hub you’ll find Santa’s Lodge — the social heart of the event and your shot at the ultra-rare Black Partyhat.

📜 The Nice List & Letters to Santa

You earn Nice Points by handing in letters to Santa.

You can get up to 3 letters per day by:

  • Talking to Clementine outside the lodge

  • Completing all your Daily Challenges

  • Taking part in seasonal activities around the Christmas Village

Each of these sources gives one letter. Every 3 letters = 1 Nice Point.

If you miss a letter, you can buy a replacement at the Christmas Spirit Shop for 400 Christmas Spirit, so one bad day doesn’t doom your whole week.

Post your letters in the Wintumber Postbox outside the lodge to lock in your Nice Point and entry into the weekly draw.

🎩 Black Partyhat Draw & Santa’s Visit

Every player with at least 1 Nice Point that week is entered into a draw for a Black Partyhat when Santa arrives.

  • Santa arrives: Each Sunday in December at 20:00 game time

  • Santa leaves: 22:00 game time

Roughly 30 minutes before Santa shows up, a countdown appears and Snow Imps start throwing presents around Santa’s Lodge that everyone nearby can grab.

If you can’t log in during Santa’s visit:

  • Your gift will be waiting in the Sledge outside the grotto

  • You can also collect missed letters from previous weeks, so you’re never fully locked out of progress

📆 Winter Weeks: 5 Weeks of Rotating Buffs

Winter Weekends have evolved into full Winter Weeks, with buffs active all week long. Only one set of buffs runs at a time.

Week 1 – Clue Scroll Week

  • 1 free reroll per day for clue rewards

  • +10% chance to receive clue scrolls from drops & pickpocketing

  • +50% Treasure Trail points per clue

Perfect for clue hunters and fashion-scape enjoyers.

Week 2 – Bossing Week

  • Choose your Soul Reaper task

  • Double Reaper points

  • Elder overload cauldrons active at War’s Retreat

  • All deaths are safe for members, and death is free for non-members in most situations (even Ironmen get the safe-death effect here)

Great time to send risky bosses or learn new mechanics without sweating your grave.

Week 3 – Skilling Week

  • 10% chance to receive an extra resource with Gathering skills

  • 10% chance to save resources or double output with Artisan skills

  • +50% Agility XP from all courses

  • +20% pickpocket success chance

Ideal for bank-staring skillers and Ironmen trying to push their levels.

Week 4 – Combat Week

  • Offered a choice between two Slayer tasks

  • Double Slayer points

  • Tier 4 Luck always active

  • Charm drops give +1 extra charm

A must-play week if you’re building combat and Slayer simultaneously.

Week 5 – Activities Week

  • Dominion Tower: +50% dominion factor, each boss counts as two for unlock progress

  • Shattered Worlds: +50% shattered anima

  • Dungeoneering & Elite Dungeons: Double Dungeoneering tokens

  • Player-Owned Ports: Voyages return 30% extra resources and trade goods

  • Minigames: Double Thaler

It’s basically a weekly celebration of “everything else” in RuneScape.

🏟️ Snowball Arena & Snowverload World Boss

This year, the Queen of Snow’s midwinter tournament features a new arena and a frosty boss fight.

Snowball Arena

Head to the Snowball Arena to:

  • Gather or craft snowballs on-site

  • Pelt Snowmen for Christmas Spirit

  • Earn Ranged XP while you do it

It’s low-risk, silly, and very on-theme.

❄️ Snowverload — The Abominable Snowman

Once every hour at xx:45, the Snowverload marches into the arena:

  • A towering Abominable Snowman determined to wreck the place

  • Players need to team up and bombard it with snowballs

  • Defeating Snowverload gives a chance at the Snowverload pet

If you like big cooperative events without high stakes, this is the fight to catch each hour.

🎁 Cozy Skilling & Holly’s Christmas Spirit Store

Beyond combat and snowball fights, the Village is packed with chill activities that provide Christmas Spirit:

  • Chop Fir Trees

  • Cook Hot Chocolate

  • Build Toys

  • Craft Decorations

  • Ice Fish

  • Pack Snowballs

You can spend your Spirit at Holly’s Christmas Spirit Store, which offers:

  • New festive jumpers and wearables

  • A large catalogue of returning Christmas items from previous years

The store reappears with the Village every year, so there’s no permanent FOMO—just long-term collection goals.

🎅 Not-So-Secret Santa — Community Gift Pool

In the Igloo, talk to Not-So-Secret-Santa to join a server-wide gift exchange:

  • Donate most items you’d normally put on the Grand Exchange (Bonds excluded) into your world’s gift pool

  • In return, you get a chance to draw from that pool every three hours

The more generous your world, the better the gift pool becomes.

📅 Advent Calendar & Giant Present

The Advent Calendar is back to count down the festive days:

  • 24 daily rewards — open one door per day

  • Open at least 15 doors on the correct days to unlock extra bonus goodies later in the month

Near the Village, you’ll also find the Giant Present:

  • Available from December 25 to January 4

  • Everyone can unwrap it once during the period for a seasonal surprise

🎁 Presents From the Imps, Wrapping Paper & New Santa Hats

All across Gielinor, Presents From the Imps and Wrapping Paper wrap the whole game in holiday loot.

Wrapping Paper → Presents

During the event:

  • Almost any gameplay action can drop Wrapping Paper

  • Turn in 200 Wrapping Paper at a time to Noel (the “Official Wrapper-er of Festive Cheer”) near Santa’s Lodge

  • Noel turns it into one of five Present types:

    • White

    • Blue

    • Purple

    • Santa

    • Gold

Each tier has its own loot table packed with cosmetics, consumables and rare goodies.

New 2025 Rewards — Yellow & Blue Santa Hats

This year introduces:

  • Yellow Santa Hat

  • Blue Santa Hat

They can drop from any present, but:

  • Gold Presents guarantee you at least one of them

  • Santa Presents have an increased chance to drop them

Santa Presents can also contain:

  • Pink, Purple, and Green Santa Hats

  • Untradeable Treasure Hunter-style cosmetics like:

    • Warped / Frozen / Blessed / Corrupted Combat Animations

    • Deadly Highwayman outfit

    • Herald of Tumeken outfit

  • Returning classics including:

    • Boulder & Snowball pets

    • Aurora dye and other high-end trimmings

If you’re a cosmetic collector, this is absolutely the season to grind Wrapping Paper.

✅ Why This Event Matters

  • Black Partyhat shot: Even with long odds, this is one of the very few structured ways to aim at a Black Partyhat.

  • Exclusive cosmetics: New Yellow & Blue Santa Hats, the Snowverload pet, and fresh jumpers are prime fashion-scape.

  • Powerful temporary buffs: Winter Weeks heavily boost clues, bossing, skilling, and activities—perfect for smart grinders.

  • Play-how-you-want: Wrapping Paper and Christmas Spirit drop from almost anything, so all playstyles contribute and profit.

💡 Player Tips

  • Do your 3 letters every day to stay eligible for Black Partyhat raffles each Sunday.

  • Plan around Winter Weeks: Bossing, Skilling, and Combat buffs are too good to waste if that’s your main grind.

  • Pop into the Snowball Arena on the :45 mark each hour to tag Snowverload for Spirit and a pet chance.

  • Farm Wrapping Paper during normal gameplay, then cash it in bulk with Noel for high-tier presents.

  • Even on busy days, at least log in for the Advent Calendar and remember to unwrap the Giant Present between Dec 25–Jan 4.
