Your Flashlight Is Everything in NTE Spooky Cookies, Here Is Why
By Sir Ayup
Spooky Cookies is the haunted house in Neverness to Everness' Pukaland, and getting through it comes down to one tool: your flashlight. The attraction is a first-person escape room where you explore a dark manor, stun ghosts, uncover hidden items and finally face The Count. It is also where you complete the No Rest for the Cookies Anomaly Commission, which is listed with 40 Annulith among its rewards. At gamemarket.gg, we put together how the flashlight works, the route through the manor, how to beat The Count and every reward worth chasing before the Pukaland event ends.
Where to Find Spooky Cookies
Spooky Cookies is one of the Spooky Adventure attractions in Pukaland, located in the Cakehill area behind the northeast Magic Spin.
To enter, talk to the Ticket Agent at the booth and buy a ticket with Fons. Community guides list a minimum of 500 Fons to get in.
The attraction is part of the Pukaland Travelogue event, which runs until November 11. If Pukaland is new to you, our Version 1.4 preview explains how the amusement park was introduced.
How the Flashlight Works
The flashlight is your only light, your only weapon and your main resource, so managing it is the whole challenge.
- Battery drain: the battery drains constantly while you explore, and the light cannot be switched off
- Spare batteries: you find replacements around the manor, so pick them up whenever you see them
- Flash: a burst of light that stuns ghosts and can activate certain mechanisms, at the cost of extra battery
- UV mode: reveals hidden items, secret cabinets, concealed doors and hidden Ghost Butlers, but drains the battery even faster
A good habit is to switch to UV mode only when you see something suspicious, such as glowing purple objects, and switch back as soon as you have found what you need.
The Fright Meter
Your Fright meter rises when your battery runs out or when a ghost jump-scares you. If it fills up, the run ends with a low rating, and only a couple of jump-scares are enough to get close to the limit.
Courage Spray lowers your Fright, so save it for emergencies instead of using it right away.
Ghosts and How to Handle Them
- Regular ghosts: go down after three Flash hits
Regular ghosts - Sunglasses ghosts: take an extra hit, since the glasses absorb the first one
Sunglasses ghosts - Pumpkin ghosts: disguise themselves as pumpkins until they are revealed
Pumpkin ghosts - Candle Pumpkin: never fully disappears, but each hit on its flame adds points to your score
Candle Pumpkin Ghost - Ghost Butlers: appear during the run and are tied to several optional challenges
Ghost Butlers
Ghosts need a moment to finish their summon animation, so you can sometimes run past them instead of fighting. When several gather together, one Flash can hit all of them at once.
Spooky Cookies Walkthrough
- Castle Lobby: explore the lobby, enter the room on the right and grab the Spooksicle from the table
- Open the next path: Flash the pumpkin on top of a shelf to open the way forward, collecting hidden items as you go
- Hexbreaker Candy: pick up the Hexbreaker Candy on the left side and use it to break the seal on the left room
- Four Spookstones: find all four Spookstones around the manor, including a storage room filled with pumpkins and shelves, then place them on the altar
- Candy Key: wait for the altar's seal to fade, take the Candy Key and return it near the portrait to unlock the path to The Count
- Boss room: head to the second floor of the hallway to face The Count
In the stained-glass hall, sprinting through can help you avoid triggering extra ghost spawns.
How to Beat The Count
The Count is the final boss and has far more health than regular ghosts.
- Only attack when its eyes are uncovered or its shield drops
- Cut off its route so it cannot keep circling the room
- Back off when it starts circling, then repeat the cycle
- It takes at least 10 hits to defeat
Defeating The Count gives a large score bonus and ends the run immediately, so collect any remaining loot before you enter its room.
No Rest for the Cookies Rewards
Clearing Spooky Cookies also completes the No Rest for the Cookies Anomaly Commission. Its listed rewards are:
- 15,000 Fons
- 7,500 Beetle Coin
- 80 Silver Carrota
- 40 Annulith
- 30 U-00NE
- 300 Hunter EXP
- 5 Anomaly Material Selection Box I
Ratings and Spooky Trials
Each run is scored based on objectives, loot and the ghosts you defeat. Your score sets your Adventure Rating from C to S, and each rating milestone rewards Puka Stars. Higher ratings also add Beetle Coin, while lower ones include Annulith.
The attraction also has Spooky Trials, optional challenges that each grant extra Puka Stars. They include:
- clearing the manor within a time limit
- finishing without using Courage Spray
- limiting how often you use Flash and change batteries
- hitting Ghost Butlers' weak points and stunning several of them with one Flash
- finding The Count's treasured painting and secret chamber
- collecting 10 Pukaboo Houseguests
Guides currently list different targets for the time, Flash and battery limits, so check the exact numbers on the Spooky Trials screen in game before you plan a run around them.
Tips for an S Rating
- Save battery for the big fights. Keep enough charge for the Ghost Butlers and The Count.
- Loot before the boss. The run ends as soon as The Count falls.
- Farm the Candle Pumpkin if you need extra points, while keeping an eye on your battery and Fright.
- Use one Flash on groups to save battery.
- Pick up every battery and Courage Spray you pass, even if you do not need them yet.
