NTE Version 1.4 Preview: Blackbird, Akane Rin & Pukaland
By Sir Ayup 17 September 2026, 16:00 WIB
Neverness to Everness Version 1.4, “For Whom the Verses Mourn,” launches on September 30, 2026, and Hotta Studio has now shown what the next update will actually contain. The September 16 Preview Special Program moved Version 1.4 beyond character teasers and into a full patch reveal, confirming Blackbird, Akane Rin, Pukaland, a new Main Episode, new anomaly content, seasonal events, City Tycoon rewards, Porsche vehicles, and multiple Limited Boards.
For players deciding whether to keep spending in Version 1.3 or start saving for the next patch, the biggest change is simple: Version 1.4 now has a confirmed structure rather than a roadmap built from speculation. Here is what the preview officially revealed.
Version 1.4 releases September 30
Version 1.4 is officially scheduled for September 30. Its title, “For Whom the Verses Mourn,” points directly toward the patch’s story focus, with the new Main Episode called “The Witch.”
There is also a new spinoff storyline titled “To Us, Back Then.” Hotta Studio has not framed Version 1.4 as a minor character-only update. The preview combines story progression, a new location, anomaly commissions, limited activities, new characters, cosmetics and city-management rewards.
That makes September 30 the key date for anyone currently finishing Linko’s Version 1.3 phase or clearing limited content before the next version begins.
Blackbird is finally part of the Version 1.4 lineup
Blackbird is one of Version 1.4’s two new featured characters.
Her Limited Board is called “Foretold Finale,” and Version 1.4 also introduces the Roostfeather Special Arc Research Program. Blackbird receives new character interactions and three announced outfits:
-
Wandering Stars — available through the Mall.
-
Rouge et Noir — tied to accumulated rolls in the Skin Perks event.
-
Unfazed Denim — unlocked by reaching Bond Level 10 with Blackbird.
This is a major step beyond her earlier S-Class reveal. Before the preview, Blackbird’s playable status was known, but much of the surrounding Version 1.4 structure remained uncertain. The Special Program now places her directly inside the patch’s Limited Board, Arc, interaction and cosmetic systems.
Players should still avoid assuming anything not explicitly shown or published. Team rankings, final build priorities and long-term meta value require live character data rather than pre-release theorycrafting.
Akane Rin joins the same update
Akane Rin is the second new Version 1.4 character, continuing NTE’s pattern of turning established Hethereau characters into playable Espers.
Her Limited Board is titled “Dazzling Star,” while the Celestial Special Arc Research Program is scheduled for the later part of the version, from October 21 to November 11.
Akane Rin also receives a larger cosmetic lineup:
-
Full Metal Rock — Mall.
-
Cozy Velvet — Mall.
-
Shining Idol — Skin Perks.
-
House Special — Pukaland Fest Special Gift Pack.
-
Off the Clock — Bond Level 10.
The update also adds character interactions for Akane Rin, so Version 1.4 is not treating her as a banner-only addition.
Hotta Studio has now confirmed enough of the patch structure to plan resources around Blackbird and Akane Rin, but players should separate those confirmed additions from any unofficial banner predictions or pre-release build pages that appeared before the Special Program.
Pukaland is the headline new location
The visual centerpiece of Version 1.4 is Pukaland, a new area built around an amusement-park theme.
Pukaland is more than a background for the story. It anchors several of the version’s activities and rewards, including Pukaland Travelogue, which runs from September 30 to November 11. Players collect Wonder Stamps while exploring the park and unlocking event memories.
The update also adds a new Location Anomaly called St. Arbor.
Pukaland feeds into cosmetics and progression as well. The new Big Brains accessory can be exchanged at Pukaland, while Akane Rin’s House Special outfit is connected to the Pukaland Fest Special Gift Pack.
For players who value NTE’s open-world and lifestyle systems as much as combat, Pukaland looks like the patch’s most important addition.
New events fill the entire version
Version 1.4 has a substantial event calendar.
Confirmed activities include:
-
Pukaland Travelogue — September 30 to November 11.
-
Coal Lump’s Treasure — October 8 to November 11.
-
Snap! Golden Crackshot — October 21 to November 11.
-
Puka Lucky Flip — October 29 to November 11.
-
Stamina Recharge — October 5 to October 19.
-
Pixel Surge — October 19 to October 26.
-
Gold Crash — October 26 to November 9.
-
Beyond the Rails: Sunset Circle — October 8 to October 22.
-
Terminal Depths — announced, with dates still to be confirmed.
The three double-reward style events are particularly useful for progression planning. Stamina Recharge doubles rewards when spending double City Stamina in selected Hethereau Hobbies activities. Pixel Surge returns with double rewards for eligible Character Pixel activities, while Gold Crash boosts Fons earnings from Pink Paws Heist.
City Tycoon adds two S-Class selectors
The Version 1.4 City Tycoon: Puka Membership Program has one of the patch’s most notable reward tracks.
The preview lists an S-Class Standard Character Selection Box at Level 15 and another at Level 40. Level 28 also awards a Puka Membership S-Class Standard Arc Selection Box.
Other milestones include outfits for Haniel, Baicang and Sakiri, accessories, dice skins, an avatar frame, a namecard, a title and a phone wallpaper.
For players building an account over the full patch rather than only pulling limited characters, these permanent progression rewards may be just as important as the new Limited Boards.
Porsche vehicles are coming to Hethereau
Version 1.4 also expands NTE’s vehicle side with two Porsche models:
-
Porsche 911 Turbo (930)
-
Taycan Turbo GT with Weissach Package
Both are listed as obtainable from Mystery Boxes.
The Porsche Club feature adds the classic “Salzburg” livery plus extra rewards including furniture, a namecard, phone case, wallpaper and the Porsche Club title.
This gives the update a second major lifestyle-focused pillar alongside Pukaland and City Tycoon.
Three Version 1.4 redeem codes
The Special Program also revealed three codes:
-
WITCHOUSE
-
THEWHOOTS
-
PUKALANDGOGO
All three are listed as valid through September 20, so players should redeem them before they expire rather than waiting for the September 30 patch.
Quality-of-life changes matter too
Several smaller improvements arrive with Version 1.4.
Volley Star gains multiplayer support, while Photo Mode’s Drone Mode gets a follow-cam option. The Friends interface will begin recommending players to add, and Bond Gifts gain a one-tap option for quickly redeeming or purchasing A Handwritten Letter to raise Bond Levels.
Character unlock animations can also be replayed by lingering on the relevant character interface. Blackbird additionally joins Going, Going, Gone! as an Auction Assistant, alongside new collectibles.
None of these changes define the patch individually, but together they make Version 1.4 broader than a simple story-and-banner update.
What to prepare before September 30
The safest preparation is to finish expiring Version 1.3 content, save pull resources if Blackbird or Akane Rin interests you, and claim the Special Program codes before September 20.
Do not spend based on unofficial banner rankings or pre-release “best build” pages alone. Version 1.4 now has a confirmed launch date and content list, but actual account value will depend on how its new characters, Arcs and systems perform once the update is live.
Players who want a more developed starting point can browse Neverness to Everness accounts, while hourly services can help with routine progression and limited activities. For targeted clears and account progression, Neverness to Everness boosting is also available.
