Mobile Legends Aspirants Guide: 16 September Rerun and Aspirants 5.0 with Obsidia and Selena
By Michael Pras 3 September 2026, 22:00 WIB
Two Aspirants dates land within a month of each other. 16 September brings back Ruby "Mecha Maiden" and Angela "Cyber Cherub". 9 October brings Aspirants 5.0, headlined by new skins for Obsidia and Selena. A single 250 diamond top-up mission appears to feed both.
The line worth reading carefully is the discounted first 10x draw. It's advertised as guaranteeing an Epic-tier skin or above — and that's exactly what it guarantees. An Epic floor is not an Aspirants skin, and the two get conflated constantly in event coverage. Budget on the assumption that your first ten pulls give you a skin, not the skin.
The two dates
16 September — the rerun. Ruby "Mecha Maiden" and Angela "Cyber Cherub" return to the pool. This is the same day Season 42 begins, so it lands in an already-busy window.
9 October — Aspirants 5.0. New skins for Obsidia and Selena, with the same 250 diamond top-up structure attached.
What the rerun actually offers
Reruns are the only route back to Aspirants skins. These are event-locked cosmetics that don't appear in the Fragment Shop rotation or the standard store, so a rerun window is genuinely the mechanism for acquiring them rather than a convenience.
But rerun does not mean cheap. The skins return to a gacha pool, not to a shop shelf at a fixed price. If you missed Ruby "Mecha Maiden" or Angela "Cyber Cherub" the first time, you're entering the same draw system that made you miss them originally — with the same variance.
The honest framing for a rerun: it's worth participating in if one of those two skins is on a hero you actually play. Ruby and Angela are both long-standing picks with steady presence, which is more than can be said for some rerun candidates.
Aspirants 5.0: Obsidia and Selena
Obsidia "Imperatrix Arashi" and Selena "Silverbolt Raiko" are the two skins in the fifth Aspirants collection. Both names lean into storm and thunder imagery, which matches the lore framing circulating with the reveal — Obsidia positioned as the first awakened will among the Enders, a celestial figure calling down thunder from the Windstorm Nest.
Obsidia is the notable inclusion here. She released in September 2025 as the game's first abyssal marksman, which makes this a fairly quick Aspirants appearance for a relatively new hero. Selena, by contrast, has been in the roster for years and carries a deep skin catalogue already.
Treat the skin names as provisional. They come from Advance Server display models rather than an Original Server announcement, and display-model names have changed between servers before.
The Advance Server caveat
Aspirants 5.0 is live on the Advance Server now, and the prize pools are not identical. Advance Server events regularly run different reward tables, different rates and different token structures from the Original Server version that follows.
So don't plan your October spending around Advance Server footage. Draw counts, guaranteed thresholds and pool contents that content creators are showing right now may not be what arrives on 9 October. Verify against the in-game event page when it opens.
The 250 diamond mission
It appears to be one threshold, not two. The mission card shows a single 0/250 progress bar covering rewards that unlock across four separate dates, which suggests the same top-up feeds both the September rerun and the October release rather than requiring a fresh 250 diamonds each time. Confirm this on the event page before topping up twice.
The unlock schedule:
- 6 September — Badang "Quantum Commando" 200 diamond skin coupon
- 16 September — 3 Aspirants tokens for the rerun
- 9 October — 3 Aspirants tokens for Aspirants 5.0
- 16 October — Zilong "Ascendant of Flame" 200 diamond skin coupon
A third 200 diamond skin coupon is included without a listed date.
The advertised value is 1,860 diamonds for a 250 diamond spend. The arithmetic is real, but read what makes it up. Six hundred of those diamonds are skin coupons locked to three specific skins. The rest sits in six Aspirants tokens usable only in this gacha. If you don't want Badang "Quantum Commando", Zilong "Ascendant of Flame" or the Aspirants line, most of that 1,860 is value you cannot spend anywhere.
And read the exclusion. The mission specifies 250 diamonds not including bonus diamonds. A top-up pack advertising 250 total with bonus baked in may only credit 200 toward the threshold. Check the base figure on the pack, not the headline.
What the guaranteed draw does and doesn't do
Discounted first 10x pull, guaranteed Epic or above. That's the mechanic.
An Epic guarantee is a floor on rarity, not a promise of the featured skin. You are guaranteed not to walk away with ten low-tier items. You are not guaranteed Ruby "Mecha Maiden", Angela "Cyber Cherub", or either Aspirants 5.0 skin.
This is where players overspend. The discount makes the first pull feel like a bargain, the Epic guarantee makes it feel safe, and neither of those things says anything about reaching the skin you actually opened the event for. Decide your ceiling before the first draw, not after the tenth.
Should you take the mission?
If you were topping up anyway: yes, straightforwardly. Six free tokens and three coupons for diamonds you were going to buy regardless is a clear gain.
If you're topping up specifically for this: work out whether you want at least two of the three coupon skins plus the Aspirants line. Below that, the 1,860 figure overstates what you're actually receiving.
If you're chasing a specific rerun skin: set a hard limit in draws, not in diamonds, and stop at it. Rerun windows create urgency by design, and the guarantee structure is built to make continuing feel more reasonable than stopping.
What isn't confirmed
The full Aspirants 5.0 prize pool on the Original Server, the total draw cost to guarantee either new skin, whether the 250 diamond mission is genuinely one threshold or two, the identity of the undated third skin coupon, and the final Original Server skin names. Much of what's circulating comes from Advance Server testing and community datamining rather than Moonton announcements.
Our Season 42 guide covers the Fragment Shop rotation and rank reset landing on the same 16 September date.
Getting the diamonds without the markup
The 250 diamond threshold excludes bonus diamonds, which makes the base rate on your top-up the number that matters. Mobile Legends top up runs through competing verified merchants with Buyer Protection holding payment until the diamonds land, so you can compare base rates rather than headline totals. If the skins you're chasing come from Aspirants collections that have already closed, Mobile Legends accounts list the full cosmetic inventory and Collector Level up front — often the only remaining route to an event skin that never returns. And if the draws go well but the ladder isn't cooperating, Mobile Legends boosting covers rank and star work through verified high-rank players while you spend your time on the event instead.
