MCGG Chrono Echoes Preview: What We Know About Season 7
By Sir Ayup 5 August 2026, 00:00 WIB
Chrono Echoes is the update currently running on Magic Chess: Go Go's advance server, and the community has broadly settled on treating it as Season 7. Here's the honest position before anything else: Moonton has not announced a season name, a release date, or a content list. What exists is a test build with new synergies and heroes — including one named Echomancer — plus a season schedule that puts a new season squarely in the current window. That's enough to prepare for, and not enough to plan a lineup around. This piece separates the two.
What's actually confirmed
Nothing about Season 7 has been officially published. What is documented is the cadence of previous seasons:
- Season 4 launched on 1 December 2025, bringing the King of Fighters collaboration with two new synergies.
- Season 5, Neon Guardians, launched on 10 February 2026, adding the Mystic Meow, Neobeasts, Heartbond and Exorcist synergies alongside the GOGO MOBA and Go Go Plaza modes.
- Season 6, Dawnlight, followed in the middle of 2026 with new synergies, heroes and Commander Kalea.
That's a rhythm of roughly ten to twelve weeks per season, which places the next one right about now. Combined with an update already sitting on the advance server, a season change in the near term is a reasonable expectation — just not a confirmed date.
What the advance server is showing
The advance server is Moonton's public test build, where updates run before reaching the live game. The Chrono Echoes build there has surfaced:
- New synergies, with Echomancer the name circulating most consistently
- New heroes and accompanying skill changes
- General gameplay adjustments not yet detailed
Treat every item on that list as provisional. Advance server content routinely gets renamed, retuned or cut entirely before release, and synergy numbers in particular tend to shift between test and live. A comp that looks dominant on the test build regularly arrives nerfed.
Why a season change matters more in MCGG than in most games
In an auto-battler, a season change isn't a cosmetic refresh — it's a rewrite of the puzzle.
Each MCGG season has revamped or replaced synergies outright. Season 5 introduced four new ones; Season 4's collaboration added two more. When a synergy is reworked or removed, every lineup built around it stops working, and the heroes that supported it lose their reason to be picked. The comps that carried you through the current season may simply not exist in the next one.
That's the argument for holding rather than investing right now. Anything you spend chasing a specific commander or comp in the final weeks of a season is spent on a board that's about to change shape.
Check which season your client is actually on
Worth flagging, because it trips up players reading global guides: MCGG's regional versions don't run on the same season numbering. The global client has been running Season 6 while the separate US release was still on Season 3, Cosmic Traders.
So a "Season 7 guide" is only accurate for the client it was written about. Open your own game and check the season banner before assuming any article — including this one — describes the version you're playing.
How to prepare for the change
Nothing here requires spending, and most of it is about not losing what you've already earned:
- Claim your season pass rewards before the reset. Unclaimed tiers do not survive a season change.
- Spend season-specific currency. Event and seasonal currencies typically expire or convert at rollover, often at unfavourable rates.
- Expect a rank reset. Ranked progress adjusts between seasons, so a final push now is worth more than one made after the change.
- Don't over-invest in a single comp. Learn two or three lineups built on different synergy families rather than mastering one that may not exist next month.
- Watch the official channels for patch notes. They arrive shortly before a season goes live and are the first fully reliable account of what changed.
What to do with the first week
When the season does land, the opening week is the most winnable stretch of the entire cycle. Nobody knows the new synergies yet, and games are decided by players who read the new mechanics quickly rather than by players who have memorised an established meta.
Two habits help there: check the synergy list in the preparation screen before committing to a build, and play flexibly rather than forcing a comp you planned in advance. In a season nobody has solved, adaptability outperforms preparation — which is a rare and short-lived window.
Get board-ready before the season turns
A season change rewards accounts with a deep commander pool, since flexible lineups are worth more than a single mastered comp when the synergies shift underneath you.
