Genshin Welkin Moon and Battle Pass: Which One Is Worth It?

The Welkin Moon is the cheapest purchase in Genshin Impact and, for most players who spend at all, the best value: one payment gives 300 Genesis Crystals up front and 90 Primogems a day for 30 days. The Battle Pass upgrade, Gnostic Hymn, costs more but adds Intertwined Fates, talent materials and a choice of 4-star weapon. Which one deserves your money comes down to how often you log in and whether that weapon fills a real gap.

This guide from gamemarket.gg explains what each purchase gives, how they compare, who should buy which and the details that catch people out.

What the 30-Day Blessing Gives You

The Blessing of the Welkin Moon is a 30-day pass. Buying it delivers 300 Genesis Crystals immediately, then 90 Primogems every day for the next 30 days, claimed by logging in. Across a full month that adds up to roughly 3,000 Primogems' worth, or close to 19 Wishes once converted.

The catch is the daily claim. The 90 Primogems only arrive on days you log in, and a missed day is lost for good while the 30-day timer keeps running. The pass also does not renew on its own; you buy it again when it runs out, and it can be stacked ahead of time up to a cap of 180 days.

How the Battle Pass and Gnostic Hymn Work

The Battle Pass unlocks at Adventure Rank 20 and runs alongside each version. You level it by completing daily and weekly tasks, with a weekly cap on progress, so it rewards steady play over a few weeks rather than one long session. Hitting that rank is quicker once you know how to level Adventure Rank efficiently.

Everyone gets the free Sojourner's track, which hands out Mora, Hero's Wit, Mystic Enhancement Ore, Fragile Resin and Acquaint Fates. Upgrading to Gnostic Hymn adds talent level-up materials, Intertwined Fates every 10 levels and a choice of 4-star Battle Pass weapon. A pricier tier, Gnostic Chorus, gives the same rewards but starts you ten levels ahead with a few cosmetic extras.

Welkin Moon vs Battle Pass: Which Gives More

On Primogems alone, the Blessing wins by a wide margin. It turns a small purchase into a large, steady stream of Wishes, and no other top-up comes close in Primogems per dollar.

Gnostic Hymn wins on everything else. The talent materials and Fragile Resin save Original Resin you would otherwise spend farming, and the 4-star weapon can carry a character for a long time, especially for teams that lack a good weapon for a key slot. Treating Resin as a budget you spend carefully makes those extra materials more valuable than they first look.

Who Should Buy Which

For a player who logs in every day and mainly wants more Wishes, the Blessing alone is the clear pick. It fits neatly into a plan built around pity, the 50/50 and saving for specific banners.

Players who also need a strong 4-star weapon, or who are still levelling several characters' talents, tend to add Gnostic Hymn on top, usually only in versions where the featured weapon choice actually helps their roster. Gnostic Chorus mostly makes sense for players who want the extra levels without grinding them.

Things to Check Before Buying

A few details trip people up. Prices vary by region and store, so the amount shown in the in-game shop or your top-up provider is the one that counts. Separate from both passes, Genesis Crystal packs give a first-time double bonus on each tier, which resets from time to time and can make a one-off crystal purchase better value than usual. And because the Welkin Moon pays out daily, buying it right before a long break mostly wastes it.

The quickest way to keep Welkin running is to top up through the Genshin Impact Top Up market, where payment is held until the order is complete.

If you would rather start with a stronger roster than wait on Wishes, you can browse Genshin Impact Accounts, hand dailies and Battle Pass tasks to a verified player through Genshin Impact Hourly Services, or clear story and exploration goals faster with Genshin Impact Boosting.
