Order Tutorial 101: "Cancel Request" Order Status Explained on GameMarket.gg
By GameMarket Team
As GameMarket.gg continues to build a secure and transparent trading ecosystem, we are constantly refining our user protection systems. Today, we are diving into a crucial feature designed to safeguard buyers while ensuring fairness for sellers: the "Cancel Request" status.
Understanding how this mechanism works will help you trade with total peace of mind. Here is a complete guide to what a Cancel Request is, how the timeline works, and the options available for both parties.
What is a Cancel Request?
A Cancel Request occurs when an order is currently in the "Delivering" status, but the buyer initiates a request to cancel the transaction.
Think of this feature as a legitimate emergency brake. It is designed for situations where the delivery process hits an unexpected snag, the item is out of stock, or communication with the seller goes completely dark.
The 24-Hour Timer & Instant Refunds
To ensure disputes are handled swiftly and funds aren't left in limbo, the Cancel Request feature runs on a strict, automated timer:
-
The 24-Hour Window: Once a buyer requests a cancellation, the seller has exactly 24 hours to respond to the prompt.
-
Automatic Cancellation: If the seller fails to respond within this 24-hour timeframe—whether they are inactive, away, or simply missed the notification—the GameMarket.gg system will step in and automatically cancel the order.
-
Instant GM Coin Refunds: The moment the order is officially canceled, 100% of the buyer's funds are instantly refunded to their account wallet in the form of GM Coins. These coins hold their full value and can be immediately used to purchase other products across the marketplace without any deduction fees.
The Ultimate Buyer Safety Net
The primary function of the Cancel Request is to act as a safety net for buyers. We understand how frustrating it is to have your money stuck without clarity.
This 24-hour rule ensures that buyers have a guaranteed, predictable timeline. If a seller is unresponsive, you know exactly when your funds will be returned to your GM Coin wallet, allowing you to quickly pivot and purchas from a more active seller.
What Can Sellers Do?
When a buyer submits a Cancel Request, sellers still maintain control over their active orders. They have three distinct paths to resolve the situation:
-
Accept the Request: If the seller realizes they cannot fulfill the order (e.g., out of stock), they can immediately accept the cancellation. The funds are instantly routed back to the buyer, bypassing the 24-hour waiting period.
-
Reject the Request: If the seller is actively processing the order but just experiencing a minor technical delay, they reserve the right to reject the cancellation and proceed with delivering the asset.
-
The Anti-Loop System (Flagged as Issue): To prevent an endless cycle of a buyer requesting a cancel and a seller rejecting it, we have implemented a strict boundary. If a Cancel Request bounces back and forth more than 3 times on a single order, the system will automatically freeze the transaction and mark it as "Flagged as Issue." At this stage, a GameMarket Admin will directly intervene in the order chat to review the evidence, mediate the dispute, and enforce a fair resolution.
Pro-Tip for Smooth Trading
To avoid misunderstandings that lead to Cancel Requests, we highly encourage both buyers and sellers to maintain active, clear communication through the official GameMarket.gg chat interface. If your order does get Flagged as Issue, having a solid chat history is the fastest way for our Admins to resolve the dispute in your favor!
