If you don't want the game, the set arrives in the Fortnite Item Shop from 29 October to 5 November 2026 — timed to Phantom Blade Zero's launch on the 29th.

Two things about that window:

It's seven days. Short by Item Shop standards, and deliberately tied to a launch week rather than a normal rotation.

Epic hasn't confirmed a return. Most Item Shop cosmetics rotate back eventually, but this one is a promotional tie-in to a specific game launch, which is a different category from a standard Fortnite skin. Treat 5 November as the deadline rather than assuming a second appearance.

Pricing hasn't been published. Comparable collaboration outfits and bundles give a rough expectation, but the actual figure appears when the listing goes live.

The V-Bucks wrinkle

One scenario worth knowing in advance: if you already own the cosmetics through Fortnite and then buy Phantom Blade Zero on the Epic Games Store, you receive a V-Bucks refund rather than a duplicate.

That removes the risk from buying in the Item Shop in early November and deciding later that you want the game. You won't be paying twice for the same items — you get the V-Bucks back.

It also means the order of operations doesn't punish you. Buy whichever way suits you first.

The game was originally scheduled for 9 September before S-GAME pushed it to 29 October for additional polish. Pre-orders opened alongside the crossover announcement, revealed as the "unexpected surprise" at the end of an eleven-minute gameplay trailer.

Is buying the game worth it for the skin?

The honest answer depends entirely on one question, and it isn't about Fortnite.

If you wanted Phantom Blade Zero anyway, this is a straightforward win. You're buying a game you intended to buy, on a storefront you were probably comparing anyway, and the cosmetics are free on top. Buying through Epic rather than Steam or PlayStation costs you nothing extra and gains you three Fortnite items.

If you don't play action RPGs, buying a full-priced game to get a Fortnite skin is poor value by any measure. The Item Shop route exists precisely for you, and waiting until 29 October costs you nothing except two and a half months of not having it.

If you're undecided about the game, note that a demo was briefly spotted on PSN before being removed, and PlayStation has confirmed a State of Play presentation dedicated to Phantom Blade Zero gameplay. There's a reasonable chance you'll be able to try before committing — and the Item Shop window is still open well after those reveals.
