Etheria Diting Awakening: Is Maxing His Skills Worth It?
By Rivan Wi 1 September 2026, 22:00 WIB
Diting's Animetry: Awaken arrives after the 2 September update, gated behind Level 80. The three enhancements it unlocks are published. What isn't published is the price — and in this system, the price is the interesting part.
Awakening doesn't begin with the Awaken Ordeal. It begins with maxing every one of Diting's skills. That prerequisite is the real investment, and it happens before you see a single Awaken Prism.
Here's what the awakening gives him, what it costs to reach, and how to decide whether he's the Animus worth spending it on.
What's confirmed
- Availability: after the 2 September update, alongside the launch of SS6: Pyrite Nyx
- Requirement: Level 80
- Unlock condition: max out all of Diting's skills
- Progression: clear the Awaken Ordeal to earn Awaken Prisms, then spend them upgrading Awaken Sigils to raise his stats
- Full awakening unlocks additional skill effects beyond the stat gains
Three enhancements have been previewed:
- Rapid Fire — an enhancement to his overall skill
- Exclusive Mark — increases the CRIT DMG converted from excess CRIT Rate
- Pristine Cleaver — after triggering a Follow-up Attack, grants a new effect providing additional Follow-up Attack counts
How Animetry: Awaken works
This isn't a new system. XD has run Animetry: Awaken rounds since late 2025, covering RC-77, Turandot and Sania in December, then Dinah in June, Cachi the Guard, and Viper during SS5.4.
The structure has been identical every time, and the Level 80 requirement has never moved. Diting is the next Animus in the rotation rather than a special case.
That consistency is useful, because it means the previous rounds tell you what to expect from this one — including the parts that aren't in the announcement.
The prerequisite is the cost
Read the unlock condition again: max out all of Diting's skills.
Not "level him to 80." Not "clear a challenge." Every skill, at maximum. On an account that hasn't already invested in him, that's the bulk of the work, and none of it is refundable if you decide afterwards that he isn't the unit you needed.
The Awaken Ordeal, Prisms and Sigils sit behind that wall. They're the visible half of the system, but they're not where the resources go.
The practical consequence: awakening is not a decision you make on 2 September. It's a decision about whether Diting is a unit you were going to fully invest in regardless. If he already is, the awakening is a bonus on top. If he isn't, the awakening isn't a reason to start.
What the enhancements point at
The three previewed effects sketch a clear build direction even without numbers.
Pristine Cleaver grants additional Follow-up Attack counts after a Follow-up Attack triggers. Follow-up Attacks are a compounding damage source — more instances means more chances for everything that procs on hit to proc again.
Exclusive Mark increases the CRIT DMG converted from excess CRIT Rate.
Rapid Fire is described only as enhancing his overall skill, with no further detail.
Together, the first two point at a crit-scaling, multi-instance damage profile. Whether that's what Diting already does or a redirection of what he does isn't something the announcement clarifies.
Exclusive Mark changes how you gear him
This one deserves separating out, because it's the enhancement with build consequences rather than just bigger numbers.
In most systems, CRIT Rate above the cap is wasted. Every point past the threshold does nothing, which is why gearing usually means balancing CRIT Rate against CRIT DMG rather than maximising either.
A mechanic that converts excess CRIT Rate into CRIT DMG removes that ceiling. Overflow stops being waste and starts being damage — which means the correct gearing target shifts from "hit the cap exactly" to "stack as much as the conversion rewards."
That's a genuine change in how you'd build him, not a passive stat boost. It also means any Diting build guide written before the awakening lands is describing a different unit's gearing logic.
Hold off on re-gearing until the conversion rate is published. Without knowing how much CRIT DMG each point of overflow becomes, you can't calculate where the new optimum sits.
The Viper lesson
The most recent awakening before this one is the useful cautionary reference.
Viper's awakening delivered real numbers. Her basic-attack silence chance rose from 30% to 45%, her passive crit-damage mitigation from 30% to 50%, her S3 dispel from 75% to 100%, and her speed and attack break from 65% to 80% — with S3 additionally gaining silence.
Those are substantial upgrades on paper. Community consensus nonetheless landed on Viper still not being worth fielding in most content, because the things holding her back weren't the numbers awakening touched. Her base speed barely moved, and her health pool didn't change at all.
Awakening raises a unit's ceiling. It doesn't repair the floor. If an Animus struggles because of a structural weakness — poor speed, thin survivability, a role already better covered on your roster — a set of skill enhancements won't fix that.
Apply that test to Diting before committing. Ask what's currently stopping you from using him, and then ask whether any of the three previewed enhancements addresses it.
What isn't known
- Actual values for Rapid Fire, Exclusive Mark and Pristine Cleaver.
- The conversion rate from excess CRIT Rate to CRIT DMG.
- Awaken Ordeal difficulty and what clearing it requires.
- How many Awaken Prisms full awakening needs, and how quickly they accrue.
- Whether other Animus are included in this awakening round alongside Diting.

How to decide
If Diting is already built on your account, the awakening is straightforward value. Do it.
If he's sitting at partial investment, the question is whether you'd max his skills anyway. Awakening should be the reason you finish an investment you'd already started, not the reason you begin one.
If you don't use him, wait for the numbers. Three enhancements without values aren't enough to justify maxing a unit's entire skill set on speculation.
One timing note worth acting on regardless: SS6 opens on the same day with Blessings Galore, a one-week launch event granting 2x drops in Investigation, Threshold and GP Outpost. If you are going to max Diting's skills, the first week of September is materially the cheapest time to farm the materials for it. That window closes after seven days.
Building toward the awakening
Maxing an Animus' full skill set and then feeding the Awaken Ordeal is weeks of material farming, and SS6 is asking for those same resources across four new Animus debuts at the same time.
