Clash of Clans Friend or Foe Army Camps: Red vs Blue Rings
By Sir Ayup 6 September 2026, 18:00 WIB
Friend or Foe returns to Clash of Clans on 6 September, running to the 9th, with a second run from 28 to 30 September. Army Camps become fighting rings, and WWE Superstars spill out of them mid-battle.
The mechanic sounds simple until you try to remember which colour helps you. It reverses depending on whether you're attacking or defending — and getting it backwards costs you stars.
Here's the rule that actually holds, and how to play around it.
The short version
- Runs 6–9 September, then again 28–30 September.
- Red rings defend the village. They protect you when you're attacked and fight you when you attack.
- Blue rings side with the attacker. They help you when you attack and betray you when you're attacked.
- Blue camps hold Giant Giant and K.A.N.E. Red camps hold YEETer and The Disarmer.
- Troop level scales to the defender's Town Hall, not yours.
- Army Camps don't convert in Clan Wars or Hard Mode Friendly Challenges.
- Town Hall 6 and above.
The rule, stated so it doesn't flip on you
The confusion comes from describing the colours as "friendly" and "hostile," because that depends entirely on which side of the battle you're standing on.
The version that never reverses: red rings belong to the village. Blue rings belong to whoever is attacking it.
From there it resolves cleanly:
- When you're defending, red camps fight for you and blue camps fight for the raider.
- When you're attacking, blue camps fight for you and red camps fight against you.
So the Superstars in your own village aren't loyal to you — they're loyal to the village being attacked. Which happens to be you at home and your opponent when you're raiding.
Practical shorthand: blue is always on the attacker's side. If you're the one dropping troops, blue is your friend.
Who's in each ring
Blue rings — attacker's allies:
- Giant Giant — a super-sized Giant with roughly ten times the hit points and DPS of the standard version.
- K.A.N.E — a P.E.K.K.A-like heavy that beelines for the Town Hall and, when defeated, is reborn in flames with increased damage.
Red rings — village defenders:
- YEETer
- The Disarmer
Two things affect what you actually see. The troops that appear depend on how many Army Camps the village has, and K.A.N.E only shows up when the defender has four Army Camps — usually Town Hall 7 and above. Attack a smaller base and he simply isn't there.
Defending troops are slightly weaker than their attack versions. YEETer has reduced stats when defending, and The Disarmer doesn't start with a raged effect. That's a deliberate balance decision, and it means red-ring troops are less dangerous than the same units are in your own hands.
Destroy blue early, respect red late
This is the tactical core, and it's the opposite of how you'd normally treat Army Camps.
Army Camps are usually low-priority buildings — they hold no defences, they're worth a percentage, and you clear them incidentally. During Friend or Foe, they're triggers.
Destroying a blue camp releases its Superstar onto your side. That's a free heavy unit added to your push mid-attack, and it costs you nothing but the time to break the building. Blue camps should be an early target, not an afterthought.
Destroying a red camp releases a defender against you. That's a unit you now have to fight, appearing at a moment you chose. Which means you do control when it happens — and the answer is not while your heroes are low and your spells are gone.
The sequencing advice writes itself: open by breaking blue camps to build your army up, then handle red camps deliberately when you have the damage and the spells to deal with what comes out.
Where it applies — and where it doesn't
Worth knowing before you plan around it.
Army Camps convert in:
- Multiplayer Battles, including Legend League
- Friendly Challenges not set to Hard Mode
Army Camps do not convert in:
- Clan Wars
- Hard Mode Friendly Challenges
That's a significant carve-out. Your war attacks are entirely unaffected, which means the strategies you're practising in multiplayer during these three days don't transfer to war day. Don't rebuild your war army around Superstars that won't appear.
Level scaling runs off the defender
The level of the troops in the Army Camps depends solely on the defender's Town Hall level — not yours.
Two consequences:
Attacking up means stronger enemies and stronger allies. A higher-Town Hall base gives you tougher red-ring defenders, but the blue-ring Giant Giant and K.A.N.E you free are correspondingly stronger too.
These troops can appear as low as Town Hall 3, even though the event itself is Town Hall 6 and above. So a low-level base you're farming still has rings on it.
This is a three-day modifier now, not a three-week event
Worth calibrating expectations against the last time this ran.
Friend or Foe originally ran 8–29 April 2025 as a full Medal Event — three weeks, with its own Event Ticket reward track, Champ Medals at the Trader, and trainable temporary troops.
This September, it's a modifier: three days from the 6th, two days from the 28th. The Superstars appear in Army Camps, and that's the extent of it.
So don't wait to "get into it." There's no reward track to grind and no ticket economy to build up. Either you play multiplayer during those windows or you don't.
The wider event, and a deadline that's real
Friend or Foe sits inside WWE: Search for Cena, running 1–30 September, which has a genuine one-time-only element.
Six WWE Superstars appear as Hero skins: Cody Rhodes as the Barbarian King, Alexa Bliss as the Archer Queen, American Badass Undertaker as the Grand Warden, IYO SKY as the Royal Champion, Jey Uso as the Minion Prince and Kane as the Dragon Duke. Five are paid Hero Skins; Jey Uso comes with the Gold Pass. The Money in the Bank XL Scenery rounds it out.
Supercell has stated these are one-time-only offers. When the event ends on 1 October, they leave for good rather than returning in a later rotation.
The event's headline activity is separate: raid daily for a chance to find John Cena's hidden base, with a successful attack awarding a one-time Cody Rhodes statue.
What to do
Play multiplayer on 6–9 September, not Clan Wars — that's where the rings appear.
Target blue camps early in every attack. A free Giant Giant or K.A.N.E is the best value on the map.
Save spells for red camps. You choose when they open, so open them when you can handle the result.
Don't adjust your war army. The mechanic doesn't apply there.
Decide on the skins before 1 October. One-time-only means what it says, and the Gold Pass route to Jey Uso is the cheapest of the six.
Note 28–30 September for the second run — it's two days, and easy to miss at month's end.
Getting your village ready
A three-day window rewards accounts that can already attack at their Town Hall's level rather than ones still catching up on hero levels and troop upgrades — and that progression is the slow half of Clash of Clans. Browse verified Clash of Clans accounts if you'd rather raid from a developed village during the event, book Clash of Clans hourly services to keep upgrades and Clan Games progress moving, or push trophies through Clash of Clans boosting before the season ends on 1 October.
