Call of Duty: Mobile's Honkai Impact 3rd crossover has named three new items, and they belong to a character who wasn't in the original announcement at all: Rita Rossweisse.

Official key art confirms Scylla – Rita Rossweisse, an Operator skin; Grau 5.56 – Rita's Rose, a weapon blueprint; and Aphrodite, a melee weapon. What that art doesn't show is how you get any of them — and the claims currently circulating about that come from leak accounts rather than Activision.

Here's the clean separation between the two.

Confirmed: three named items

The key art, carrying both Activision Publishing and Cognosphere copyright, establishes the following:

  • Scylla – Rita Rossweisse — an Operator skin. Scylla is an existing CODM Operator, so this follows the established crossover pattern of reskinning current Operators rather than adding new character slots.
  • Grau 5.56 – Rita's Rose — a weapon blueprint for the Grau 5.56 assault rifle, rendered with a pink-and-black rose motif.
  • Aphrodite — a melee weapon, shown as a polearm with ribbon detailing.

The art also colour-codes each item's tier marker: Rita's Rose carries an orange marker while Scylla and Aphrodite carry purple ones. In CODM's usual scheme that reads as Legendary and Epic respectively, though the art doesn't spell the tiers out in text.

Rita wasn't in the original announcement

This is the genuinely new part, and it's easy to miss.

When the collaboration was revealed on 7 August 2026 during the Season 7 anniversary livestream — the first-ever crossover between Tencent and miHoYo/HoYoverse — the promotional key art published on CODM's Bilibili account showed silhouettes of three characters: Kiana Kaslana, Raiden Mei and Bronya Zaychik. The Herrscher trio, Honkai Impact 3rd's central protagonists.

Rita was not among them.

Her appearance now, with three named items and a dedicated piece of key art, means the collaboration's roster is broader than the initial reveal indicated. That's worth knowing if you were budgeting around three characters' worth of content. Whether further characters follow is unannounced.

Who Rita is, for CODM players

If you've never touched Honkai Impact 3rd, the choice may look arbitrary. It isn't.

Rita Rossweisse is a Schicksal maid and Valkyrie — a long-running supporting character rather than a protagonist, and a considerable fan favourite. Her combat identity is built around a scythe, which explains the polearm-style melee weapon in the key art, and the rose motif running through her outfits is a consistent visual signature across her appearances.

Choosing her over a fourth Herrscher is a deliberate nod to the game's existing playerbase rather than a pick optimised for recognition among CODM players. The trio were the obvious choice for an audience that mostly doesn't play Honkai; Rita is the choice that signals someone involved actually knows the source material.

Leaked: how you get them

Here's where the caution starts.

Claims are circulating that all three Rita items will be free through Secret Cache, obtainable without spending. That has not been announced by Activision. It originates from a leak account, which additionally corrected itself once on the mechanism — initially describing the source as "Secret Crates" before amending it to "Secret Cache."

A source that revises its own description of the delivery system within days is not a source to plan a budget around. The items are real; the acquisition route is not confirmed.

Historically, CODM crossover cosmetics have arrived through a mix of Lucky Draw, Crate, Battle Pass and event-mission routes, and the distribution model varies per item within a single collaboration. Assuming all three Rita items share one route — free or otherwise — is an assumption.

Leaked: the three Mythics and the free pick

Separately from the Rita series, three Mythic weapons have been reported for the crossover: BAL 27 – Core of Reason, Static HV – Core of Fire, and Iso Hemlock – Core of Thunder, named for the Herrscher powers of Bronya, Kiana and Mei respectively.

The reporting attached to these describes a "choose 1 of 3" event letting players claim one Mythic free by completing in-game tasks — an unusual structure, since Mythic weapons normally sit behind draws.

Two caveats matter here. The mission requirements haven't been published, and it's unclear whether picking one weapon forecloses the other two or whether the remaining pair becomes available later. Choosing under those conditions is choosing blind.

The regional question

This is the caveat most coverage is skipping, and it matters most for players in Southeast Asia.

The "choose 1 of 3" reporting specifically references Garena, which publishes Call of Duty: Mobile across Southeast Asia including Indonesia, while Activision handles the Global version. The two have historically differed in event structure, promotional timing and reward distribution.

Do not assume a Garena event structure applies to Global, or vice versa. If you're reading a guide that doesn't say which version it's describing, that guide may not be describing yours. Check your own in-game events tab once Season 8 opens rather than planning from regional coverage.

Timing

The crossover launches in September during Season 8. One report placed the season start at 3 September 2026 based on the teaser, but Activision has not confirmed a specific date, and the collaboration content may not go live simultaneously with the season rollover.

What isn't known

  • How the Rita series items are obtained. Not announced.
  • Whether they're free, drawn, or purchased, and whether all three share one route.
  • Mission requirements for the reported free Mythic pick.
  • Whether choosing one Mythic locks out the other two.
  • Whether Garena and Global run the same event structure.
  • The exact Season 8 start date and when collaboration content activates within it.
  • Whether Operator skins for Kiana, Mei and Bronya exist, despite the trio headlining the original reveal.

What to do now

Don't spend in advance. With a reported free Mythic pick and unconfirmed distribution for the Rita items, spending CP before the event structure is published risks paying for something that turns out to be obtainable through tasks.

Wait for the official event breakdown. It typically lands within days of a season launch, and it's the only source that settles free-versus-paid.

Check which version you're playing. If you're on the Garena client, coverage written for Global may not match what you see, and the difference could be an entire free-Mythic event.

Bank credits and CP rather than committing. Whatever the structure turns out to be, having currency ready costs nothing.

Preparing your loadout

A free Mythic — if the reports hold — still lands on whatever account you bring to it, and rank, weapon levels and unlocked attachments are the slow half of any Call of Duty: Mobile profile.
