Brawl Stars x Duolingo: Last Chance for Free Darryl Skin
By Sir Ayup 30 September 2026, 14:00 WIB
Brawl Stars' crossover with Duolingo closes on September 30, and with it the window on the Trash Goblin Darryl skin, a dozen community rewards, and a separate Duolingo-side quest that pays out a free Spike. The event has been running since September 19 in two alternating daily phases, and its structure means the rewards are unlocked by the whole player base rather than by any one account. Here is what Supercell has published, how the classroom-and-detention loop works, and what still needs doing before the owl leaves Starr Park.
The short version
- The event runs until September 30. Supercell's giveaway text refers to "after the event ends on October 1st", so the exact cutoff hour is not published; treat September 30 as the last safe day.
- Rewards come from community goals, not personal ones. The full list: Trash Goblin Darryl Skin, 5 Chaos Drops, 20 Gems, 10 random Starr Drops, 2,000 Coins, 2,000 XP Doublers, 3 Mythic Starr Drops, 2,000 Power Points, 2,500 Bling, 1,000 Credits, 2,000 PPXP and 1 Ultra Trophy Box.
- Two daily phases: Classroom, where the community completes a gameplay goal, and Detention, where everyone completes a deliberately silly task to return to class the next day.
- The Duo Boss Fight is a cooperative mode where you answer Duo's questions mid-fight. Duo attacks eventually regardless of how well you answer.
- A separate Brawl Stars Quest inside the Duolingo app pays extra cosmetics, Chaos Drops and Spike for free. Third-party reporting puts its track at seven days and its close at October 1.
- A social giveaway of 3.141592 million Gems to ten players runs on surprise test questions posted every few days; entries need #BrawlStars and #Duolingo.
How the two phases work
Supercell's event notice describes a loop rather than a checklist.
Phase 1: Classroom. Duo tries to teach something. Spike's counter-plan is a specific gameplay goal that the whole community completes together, and hitting it unlocks a reward. The goals are shared, so no single player has to hit a target alone; the question is whether the player base collectively gets there each day.
Phase 2: Detention. Playing Brawl during class sends everyone to detention, and escaping requires an "especially stupid task", with Supercell's own example being changing your in-game language. Complete it, escape, and class resumes the next day. The tasks and their rewards are announced in short videos on the official Brawl Stars social channels rather than in-game.
The practical consequence is that the event's reward list is spread across roughly a dozen daily cycles. Rewards already unlocked are unlocked; what remains on the list is tied to the cycles still to run before September 30. A player joining now cannot earn back the earlier days, but can still contribute to and claim whatever the final cycles release — and the Darryl skin is the item that matters most among them.
The Duo Boss Fight
The mode is cooperative and, unusually for Brawl Stars, requires reading. Duo poses questions during the fight; players coordinate with random teammates to move toward the correct answer while the boss scales up. Supercell's notice is explicit that Duo will not stay patient: even correct answers only delay the attack, so the fight is a survival mode with a quiz layered on top, not a quiz with combat on top.
Third-party coverage describes it as the game's first 20-player Boss Fight. Supercell's notice does not give a player count, so treat the number as reported rather than confirmed.
The Duolingo side
The second reward track lives in the Duolingo app. Opening it and completing the Brawl Stars Quest earns additional cosmetics, Chaos Drops and Spike for free, with the rewards showing up in Brawl Stars. Supercell's framing is a dare — "prove the green chicken wrong" — but the mechanics, per third-party reporting, are a streak-based quest built on daily lessons with a final exam at the end, running through October 1.
Two points follow. First, the Duolingo track is independent of the Brawl Stars community goals; doing one does not progress the other. Second, if the streak structure is accurate, a player starting now has fewer lesson days than the quest was designed around, and whether that still clears the track depends on details Duolingo, not Supercell, controls. The safe assumption is that later starts get fewer of the Duolingo-side rewards, and that Spike is the one to check for first.
Spike is already owned by a large share of the player base. For those accounts, the Duolingo track is cosmetics and Chaos Drops; for accounts without Spike, it is a free Legendary-tier Brawler and the single most valuable item in the whole crossover.
The giveaway
Supercell is giving 3.141592 million Gems to ten players. Every few days a surprise test question goes up on the official Brawl Stars social channels; to enter, reply with the correct answer and include both #BrawlStars and #Duolingo. More participation raises your odds, ten winners are drawn at random, and they are contacted after the event ends on October 1.
Given the amount and the format, expect impersonation. The only channels that count are the official Brawl Stars accounts, and no legitimate entry asks for account access.
What isn't known
- The exact end time on September 30. Supercell gives the date and, separately, an October 1 "after the event ends" reference for the giveaway; no hour is published.
- Which reward is tied to which day's goal. The list is published; the mapping to Classroom and Detention cycles is only visible in-game and on socials as each day is announced.
- Whether unclaimed rewards can be collected after the event. Nothing in the notice says they can.
- The Duolingo Quest's rules for late starters. The seven-day, streak-based structure and October 1 close come from third-party reporting.
- The Boss Fight's player count. "20-player" is reported, not stated by Supercell.
What to do
- Open Brawl Stars today and check the event hub. Whatever cycle is running is the one you can still contribute to, and the Darryl skin is on the remaining track if it has not already unlocked.
- Do the Detention task the day it appears. It is announced on socials, it is trivial, and it is what returns the community to class for the next reward.
- Play the Duo Boss Fight for the community goal, not for personal loot. Contribution is what moves the bar; there is no individual reward track inside the fight.
- Start the Duolingo Quest immediately if you don't own Spike. Every day you wait is a lesson day gone from a streak-based track.
- Claim everything in-game before September 30. There is no published grace period.
- Ignore anything asking for login details to "claim" giveaway Gems. Entries are public social replies, nothing else.
