The Ramen Rebellion season is anchored by three PvE boss fights, and each one attacks a different weakness in your team. Nori closes distance with fishing-pole dashes and brings fish companions along. Tara splits into shadow clones and warps the battlefield with black holes. Brock simply refuses to stop firing rockets. They're described as chaotic and drop-rich, which is the honest summary — these are the fights that pay out the Smoothie Drops feeding your Fusions, and they punish teams built around a single answer. Here's what each boss does and how to approach them.

Nori: dashes and fish

Nori fights with fishing-pole dashes and fish companions.

Two threats in one, and they pull your attention in opposite directions. The dashes mean he closes distance on his own terms — you don't get to decide the range the fight happens at. The fish companions mean there are additional targets on the field demanding your area damage.

The trap: committing everything to the boss while his companions accumulate, or spending all your damage clearing fish while the boss dashes onto your backline.

What helps: area damage that hits the boss and his companions in the same attack, and a frontliner willing to absorb a dash so your damage dealers keep their spacing.

Worth knowing for context: Nori is also a playable Brawler — the 105th, a Legendary Assassin, released in July. If you own him, you already have a feel for how the dash timing works, which is a genuine advantage in reading the boss version.

Tara: clones and black holes

The most disruptive of the three. Tara uses shadow clones and black holes.

Clones create the same problem as Nori's fish, but worse — a clone that looks like the boss splits your team's focus and wastes damage on the wrong target.

Black holes are the real threat, because they move your team rather than damaging it directly. Getting pulled together turns a well-spaced squad into a single clustered target, which is exactly the setup every area attack in the game wants.

The trap: clumping. If a black hole gathers your team and a follow-up lands on all three of you at once, that's the run.

What helps: spacing by default, and knowing which target is the real Tara before committing your Super. Brawlers who can reposition quickly recover from a pull better than ones who can't.

Brock: relentless rockets

The most straightforward and, for some teams, the most punishing. Brock delivers relentless rockets — sustained ranged pressure rather than burst.

The trap: treating it as a damage race. Sustained ranged fire favours the boss, because he doesn't run out and you do.

What helps: cover and movement. A team that fights Brock in open ground loses to attrition; a team that uses walls and approaches between volleys doesn't. Brawlers with mobility or shields get more out of this fight than pure damage dealers.

What all three have in common

Read the three together and a pattern emerges: none of them are beaten by raw damage alone.

  • Nori punishes teams without area damage
  • Tara punishes teams that clump
  • Brock punishes teams that fight in the open

That's three different failure modes, which is why a single specialised composition struggles across the season. The roster that clears all three is broader than the roster that clears any one of them well — the same conclusion the mode's design pushes you toward.

Why these fights matter beyond the rewards

The bosses are drop-rich, and drops are the season's progression currency.

Smoothie Drops feed Fusions, Season 53's power system, and there's a specific milestone worth knowing: opening 140 Smoothie Drops unlocks the Mega Mecha Meg Hypercharge skin. Around 150 drops also guarantees all five of the season's free skins, with two more available through the Brawl Pass.

So boss runs aren't optional side content if you're chasing the season's cosmetics — they're one of the main routes to them.

One Fusion rule that catches people

Worth flagging because it affects what you unlock: if you gain a Fusion for a Brawler that already has a NanoPower, the Fusion replaces it.

NanoPowers earned during Season 52 remain usable, but they don't stack with Fusions on the same Brawler. If you were expecting to run both on a favourite pick, that isn't how the system works.

How to approach the season's PvE

  • Build for breadth, not for one boss. The three failure modes above don't overlap, and you can't specialise your way through all of them.
  • Open Smoothie Drops as you earn them. Unopened drops expire at season rollover on 3 September — hoarding them is a pure loss.
  • Bring area damage to at least one slot. Both Nori and Tara generate additional targets.
  • Space out by default. It costs nothing against Brock and saves runs against Tara.
  • Don't skip days. Drops accumulate from playing, and the season ends 3 September.

A note on which mode

The Ramen Rebellion season runs several PvE formats — Mecha Guard, Combat Cooking, Topple the Tower and boss content — and published descriptions place Nori, Tara and Brock as the season's anchor boss fights without always specifying which mode each appears in.

Check the event screen in your own client for where and when each boss is available. What holds regardless is the tactical picture above.

For the co-op mode itself, our Mecha Guard guide covers the three-player format and why flexible compositions beat counter-picks, and our Topple the Tower guide covers the draft-based tower run. For where the roster stands after the August balance patch, our meta breakdown covers who came out strongest.

Build the roster three bosses demand

Three bosses punishing three different weaknesses means the accounts that clear the season are the ones with range across roles rather than depth in one.
