Blood Strike MP7 and AUG Got Buffed: Should You Switch Now?
By Sir Ayup
The Blood Strike MP7 and AUG buffs from the October 20, 2026 update are small on paper, but they change how both guns feel in fights. The MP7 reloads faster and gets extra damage from its Heavy Trigger attachment, while the AUG hits harder in the upper chest and keeps more damage at range. The same patch also adjusted the Bizon, the QBZ95 and the Striker VOX. At gamemarket.gg, we went through NetEase's official patch notes to explain every change, what it means for your loadout and which attachments are worth switching to now.
Every Weapon Change in the October 20 Update
According to the official Version Update Announcement:
MP7
- Reload speed moderately increased
- Heavy Trigger: +1 damage to all body parts
AUG
- Upper chest damage: 23 → 25
- Damage distance dropoff reduced
Bizon
- Reload speed slightly increased
- 32-Round R.I.P Drum: headshot damage increased, plus a reload speed boost
QBZ95
- Armor-Piercing Magazine: headshot damage increased, but chest, abdomen and limb damage reduced
NetEase did not publish exact numbers for the reload speed changes or the AUG's dropoff reduction.
What the MP7 Buff Means
The MP7 was already a strong close-range pick thanks to its mobility and hipfire. The buff targets two of its weak points.
Faster reloads mean less downtime between fights, which matters most when you push into a squad and need to reload before the next enemy turns the corner.
Heavy Trigger now adds +1 damage to every body part. On a fast-firing SMG, a single extra point of damage on every bullet adds up quickly and can save you a shot in close fights.
MP7 Loadout Changes
- Add Heavy Trigger if you were not using it before. It is the only MP7 attachment NetEase buffed directly, and the damage bonus applies everywhere, not just on headshots.
- Keep your mobility attachments. The MP7's identity is still fast pushes and hipfire, so do not trade away its speed for small stability gains.
- Lean into aggressive play. The faster reload supports chaining fights together instead of backing off after every engagement.
What the AUG Buff Means
The AUG's changes push it further into a mid-range role.
Upper chest damage rising from 23 to 25 helps the most common hit zone for players who aim at center mass. Reduced damage dropoff means the AUG keeps more of that damage at longer distances, so fights at mid range need fewer bullets than before.
AUG Loadout Changes
NetEase did not name a specific AUG attachment in this patch. The buff applies to the gun itself, so you do not need a new attachment to benefit. A few practical adjustments:
- Focus on stability and accuracy so more of your shots land in the upper chest, where the damage increase applies
- Take longer fights than before. With less damage dropoff, the AUG competes better at ranges where you might previously have switched to a marksman rifle
- Aim for center mass rather than forcing headshots at range, since the buff rewards upper chest hits
Bizon and QBZ95: The Other Two Changes
Bizon: the 32-Round R.I.P Drum now adds headshot damage and faster reloads on top of the gun's own reload buff. If you play the Bizon, this attachment becomes the clear choice for players who can hit headshots consistently.
QBZ95: the Armor-Piercing Magazine is now a trade-off. It rewards headshots, but it lowers chest, abdomen and limb damage. Use it only if you consistently aim high. If most of your hits land on the body, it may now cost you damage, so test a different magazine.
VOX Nerf: Why It Matters for SMG Players
The same update weakened the Striker VOX:
- Sonic Overdrive delayed damage: 30% → 25%
- Sonic Grenade disruption per wave: 3s → 2s, slow 30% → 25%
- Distortion Pulse (LV5) view rotation reduction: 50% → 20%
NetEase said VOX's gunfight advantage and disruption were too strong. For close-range players using the MP7 or Bizon, that means fewer fights where you lose control of your camera or movement before you can shoot back.
Should You Switch to the MP7 or AUG?
Try the MP7 if you like aggressive close-range play. The Heavy Trigger buff and faster reload make it more forgiving in back-to-back fights.
Try the AUG if you want an assault rifle that holds its damage at mid range and rewards steady center-mass aim.
Keep your current main if it already suits your playstyle. These are small buffs, not changes that suddenly make either gun dominant, so test them in casual modes before taking them into ranked.
