Blood Strike Just Changed the Gun Meta: SVD, P90, AK47 & EMT Explained
By Michael Pras 12 August 2026, 21:40 WIB
Blood Strike's 11 August update carries the most consequential weapon change in months, and it's aimed at the gun that has defined close-quarters play: the P90 has been reworked, not just tuned. NetEase's own explanation is unusually candid — the developers judged its use cases "too extreme," able to kill instantly at point-blank range but falling off sharply just a few metres out. So they've traded away some of its close-range burst in exchange for reduced damage dropoff, pushing it toward medium-range viability. Alongside it, the SVD receives three stacked buffs, the AK47 gets a level cap raise and a new attachment, and E.M.T. receives both a visual overhaul and faster ability activation. Here's every change and what it means for your loadout.
The P90 rework is the headline
NetEase explained the reasoning directly: the P90's profile was too polarised. Devastating at contact range, weak the moment a fight opened up even slightly.
Full-Auto Mode:
- Damage to all body parts -1
- Reduced damage distance dropoff
5-Round Burst Bolt:
- Hip fire accuracy bonus changed to a Range increase
Read that Burst Bolt line carefully, because it's a redefinition rather than a nerf or a buff. The attachment that made the P90 more forgiving while hip-firing now extends its effective range instead. That changes what the attachment is for, and it changes how you build the gun.
The practical effect across both changes: the P90 becomes less lethal in the first half-second of a room clear, but functional in fights it previously lost outright. If you've been playing it as a pure entry weapon, expect a slightly slower time-to-kill up close. If you've been swapping off it the moment a fight opened up, that swap may no longer be necessary.
This matters more than a typical balance line because the P90 sits at the top of the current meta and is the preferred close-quarters weapon for a large share of competitive players. A rework to a gun that popular reshapes what everyone else has to plan around.
The SVD gets three buffs at once
Three changes, all pushing the same direction:
- Recoil greatly reduced
- Trigger delay removed
- Fire rate slightly increased
Stacking three buffs on one weapon is unusual, and the trigger delay removal is the one that changes how it feels in the hand. A delay between pressing and firing is the kind of friction that makes a marksman rifle feel unresponsive in a fast exchange — removing it makes the SVD viable in engagements it previously couldn't win on reaction speed alone.
Combined with greatly reduced recoil and a faster rate of fire, this is a genuine attempt to make the SVD a competitive mid-range option rather than a situational pick. Worth re-testing if you wrote it off.
AK47: level cap 100 and the M-LOK Barrel
The AK47 has its weapon level cap raised to 100 and gains a new BAS Attachment, the M-LOK Barrel, which makes its recoil pattern more stable and controllable.
You unlock it by levelling the weapon or through the new Urban Pulse Strike Pass.
Recoil control has always been the AK47's tax — high damage per shot paid for with a spray pattern that punishes anything but disciplined bursts. An attachment that directly addresses that is a meaningful upgrade rather than a cosmetic unlock, and the level cap raise gives long-term AK players somewhere to keep progressing.
The rest of the weapon changes
Vector — increased hip fire accuracy. A straightforward buff to a weapon whose whole identity is close-range aggression.
QBZ95 — all-position damage -1, and its 30-round Armor-Piercing Shell Magazine now gives less bonus damage against armour and more recoil. That's a double nerf to the armour-piercing build specifically, which had been an efficient way around well-equipped opponents.
HK416 — the Type-C Collapsible Stock gives a smaller hip fire accuracy bonus and a smaller movement speed bonus. The stock made the HK416 unusually mobile for an assault rifle; that advantage has been trimmed.
Taken together, the AR adjustments pull back two attachment-driven builds — QBZ95 armour-piercing and HK416 mobility — while the SVD and Vector receive genuine buffs. The net direction favours weapons that were underused over builds that had become default.
E.M.T.: new look, faster abilities
Two changes, and one of them is purely mechanical.
Skill optimisation: the time before Protective Field, Healing Grenade and Support Field take effect after being cast has been slightly reduced.
That's the change that affects play. Support abilities live or die on whether they land before the damage does — a healing field that activates half a second late is a healing field that arrives after your teammate is already down. Reducing activation delay across all three of her tools makes E.M.T. more responsive in exactly the moments she's meant to matter.
Visual revamp: her default model has been completely overhauled. She removes the fully enclosed rescue armour she used to hide behind and appears with her face revealed for the first time, in a white medical combat suit.
The in-fiction reason is genuinely well-written: an organisation copied her communication ID and used her name to lure wounded people to a secret research facility. Investigating, she found tracking modules implanted in her old armour and her comms system stolen. The visor that protected her also made it impossible for the injured to tell the real E.M.T. from an impostor — so she destroyed the armour and stepped out unmasked.
A portion of her file is being released in advance, with the full dossier added to the Striker Story system to unlock.
Titan adjustments in War Tide
Beast Titan was judged underpowered and has been buffed substantially while keeping its "slow-moving rock-throwing machine" identity:
- Base HP 5,000 → 6,000
- Basic attack range 8m → 9m
- Basic attack damage against Armored Titan 800 → 900
- Boulder Throw cooldown 10s → 6s, with a faster animation and direct-hit damage to Kaiju 2,000 → 2,300
- Area Rock Throw cooldown 20s → 15s, with damage to Kaiju 1,000 → 1,500
The cooldown cuts are the significant part — a rock thrower that can throw twice as often is a different threat entirely.
Armored Titan had its Charge trimmed from 5s to 4s, while the underperforming Armored Heavy Punch gained reach: ground slam core damage radius 5m → 8m, shockwave radius 15m → 18m, plus increased downward effective distance to reduce the impact of uneven terrain.
A useful tip buried in the notes: Titan armour reduces bullet damage but has a weak point, and an RPG is the recommended answer.
Free rewards worth claiming
- 14 August — TPS Rally: play the new BR-TPS mode during the event to claim the Eternal MP7 - Tidesong. An Eternal-tier skin for playing a mode you'd try anyway is the best value in the patch.
- 17 August — Login Rewards: log in for 7 days total to claim the Coastal Scenery profile background.
- 21 August — Noble Coin Shop: the Ultra FN2000 - Flame Fox arrives, with missions unlocking a discount down to 40% of the original price.
- 28 August — Gold Stash Mega Giveaway: the Legendary P90 - Ruins joins the Gold Stash Gacha, with missions awarding Stash Vouchers.
The Urban Pulse Strike Pass runs 15 August to 14 September, carrying the Ultra MP5 - Heatwave, the Ultra Striker skin Lucian - Renegade on the Elite tier, and a full 520 Gold refund at max level — which makes it effectively free if you finish it.
Quality-of-life changes worth knowing
- A new achievement system with medals displayed on your profile and Medal Wall
- Profile likes and a view loadout feature letting you see others' equipped skins
- AI takeover for disconnected teammates, steerable via marker points
- Optimised third-person parachuting controls and camera
- A squad-wipe bug fixed where EMMA's Beetle Drone, LUCIAN's Soul Revival and E.M.T.'s Support Field incorrectly triggered a wipe judgement when available but unused
- Faster grenade ready time across all grenades
That squad-wipe fix is significant for competitive play — being judged wiped while a revival ability was still available is the kind of bug that decides matches.
What to do with this patch
- Re-test the P90 at medium range before assuming it's been nerfed. The dropoff reduction may open up fights you've been avoiding.
- Rebuild your P90 attachments. Burst Bolt now does something different.
- Give the SVD a genuine run. Three stacked buffs on a marksman rifle is not a minor adjustment.
- Level the AK47 if you use it — the M-LOK Barrel targets its main weakness directly.
- Reconsider the QBZ95 armour-piercing build, which took the sharpest nerf in the patch.
- Play BR-TPS before the TPS Rally window closes for the free Eternal MP7 skin.
