Arknights brings back When Elegies Are Ashes on 27 August 2026 at 04:00 (UTC-7), running through 10 September at 03:59. It's the thirty-fifth Side Story and the second chapter of the Rekindled Flame arc, originally released on Global almost exactly a year ago.
Before anything else, the date that catches people out: the event runs to 10 September, but two of its stage sets close on 6 September. Four days earlier. If you diary a single deadline for this event, you'll diary the wrong one.
Here's the full schedule, what carries over from the original run, and the one reward category that disappears permanently when this rerun ends.

Stages added permanently to [Score] 10 September, 04:00
Unlocking the event requires clearing Main Storyline 1-10, which is an early requirement — most active accounts already qualify.
The stage closure trap
[Flickering Shadows] and [Dying Flames] shut down at 03:59 on 6 September. The event itself continues for another four days after that, and so does the [Lives Yet to Begin] exchange.
The practical consequence: after 6 September you can still spend the [Broken Originium Lamp] you've accumulated, but you can no longer farm more from those stages. Anyone planning to grind currency in the final stretch will find the tap already closed.
Plan your farming around 6 September and treat the remaining four days as spending time, not earning time.
Free Brigid and the currency loop
Brigid, a 5-star Operator, is the event's free reward. She's obtained through the [Griefs yet to Relieve] missions, which are completed by clearing event stages.
The economy works in two connected layers:
[Griefs yet to Relieve] awards Brigid herself, along with 'Night of Na Saoirsí' furniture pieces, Module Materials and [Broken Originium Lamp].
[Lives Yet to Begin] is the exchange shop. You spend Broken Originium Lamp there on Brigid's token — used for her potential upgrades — plus more furniture pieces, a Headhunting Permit, Elite Materials, LMD and Battle Records.
So clearing stages feeds the missions, the missions feed the currency, and the currency feeds the shop. Standard Arknights event structure, but worth mapping before you start, since the currency deadline and the stage deadline aren't the same date.
One useful detail: Trust gain is increased for Necrass, Wulfenite and Brigid in this rerun's event stages. If you're building any of the three, running the event with them deployed is meaningfully more efficient than farming Trust elsewhere.
What carries over: this is a lightweight rerun
This matters enormously for whether the event is worth your time, and it depends entirely on whether you played the original.
Event stages inherit your previous stage progress and first-time drop progress. If you cleared this event in 2025, you won't be re-earning those first-clear rewards. The stages are already ticked.
Non-repeatable rewards convert instead. Some rewards you'd otherwise receive twice are converted into [Intelligence Certificate] at set ratios, published in the event's Intelligence Certificate Conversion Rules. So returning players aren't left with nothing — they get certificate currency in place of duplicates.
The [Intelligence Certificate] shop restocks when the event begins, adding fresh quantities of existing items plus new stock.
The honest summary: if you played the original run, this is a modest top-up. If you didn't, it's a full event with a free 5-star Operator, a furniture set and a complete story attached.
The engraved medals cutoff
This is the one genuinely permanent deadline in the announcement, and it's easy to miss in the fine print.
Some engraved medals in this event's set have had their acquisition conditions adjusted for the rerun. Players who already meet the updated conditions will receive those medals immediately when the update goes live — no action needed.
But the critical line: after this rerun ends, the event's engraved medals cannot be obtained through [Score] or any other channel. Ever.
This is worth separating clearly from what happens to the stages. The stages are permanently added to [Score] on 10 September at 04:00, so the content itself isn't lost — you can replay it whenever you like. The medals are a different matter. They close with the rerun and don't come back.
If you collect medals, this fortnight is your last opportunity for this set. If you don't, the stages will wait for you indefinitely.
Returned From A Pyre headhunting
The limited-time headhunting rerun runs 27 August, 08:00 – 10 September, 03:59 — note the 08:00 start, four hours after the event itself opens.
Rate-ups:
- 6-star: Necrass
- 5-star: Wulfenite / Warmy
An important structural detail: this is a [Standard Headhunting] banner, featuring the same Operators as the current permanent Standard Headhunting pool. The pity rule applies as normal — if you make 150 headhunting attempts without receiving the current rate-up 6-star, your next 6-star is guaranteed to be that rate-up Operator.
Because it's a standard banner rather than a limited one, the Operators involved remain obtainable afterwards through the permanent pool. The rate-up is the temporary part, not the availability.
Outfits and furniture

Don't conflate the two outfit windows. The EPOQUE batch begins the same morning the event ends, and lasts two weeks beyond it.

Suggested order of operations
- Clear the event stages before 6 September. Everything else depends on the currency they generate.
- Finish [Griefs yet to Relieve] to secure Brigid.
- Check your engraved medal conditions early — some may already be satisfied, and any that aren't need stage clears before the rerun closes.
- Deploy Necrass, Wulfenite or Brigid while farming to take advantage of the boosted Trust gain.
- Spend your Broken Originium Lamp during the 6–10 September window.
- Note 10 September separately for the EPOQUE outfit batch.
