Arknights When Elegies Are Ashes Rerun Guide

You have ten days to farm and fourteen to spend.

Event operations close 6 September. The exchange stays open until 10 September. That gap is the whole planning problem: once the stages shut, your Broken Originium Lamp total is fixed, and the last four days are spending only.

And the Lamps won't stretch as far as you think. The mission list pays roughly 1,530 Lamps, plus whatever drops from stage clears. Brigid's five tokens alone cost 1,400.

Decide on Brigid first — everything else follows

Brigid herself is free from clearing EA-4. The five tokens in [Lives Yet to Begin] raise her Potential, and they're priced on an escalating curve:

Token Cost 1st 200 Lamps 2nd 240 Lamps 3rd 280 Lamps 4th 320 Lamps 5th 360 Lamps Total 1,400 Lamps

That is essentially your entire mission income spent on one 5★ Sniper's Potential.

The case for it: Brigid is genuinely unusual — a boomerang Sniper with a rear-facing range extension at Elite 1, and a base skill that raises recruitment tag refresh generation by 30%, rising to 45% at Elite 2. Potentials sharpen both.

The case against: 1,400 Lamps also buys every premium crafting material in the shop, all three Headhunting Permits, 100,000 LMD and change.

The honest recommendation: take the first two or three tokens and stop. The curve punishes completionism — the fifth token costs 80% more than the first for the same increment. Unless Brigid is a genuine main for you, the back half of that curve is the worst value in the event.

Buy the limited stock before anything else

Everything below has finite stock and vanishes on 10 September. Priority order:

Item Cost Stock Total Polymerization Preparation 100 1 100 Cyclicene Prefab 45 3 135 Crystalline Circuit 40 3 120 Chiral Refractor 35 3 105 Headhunting Permit 150 3 450 LMD ×5,000 7 20 140 Skill Summary Vol. 3 4 10 40 Skill Summary Vol. 2 2 20 40 Frontline Battle Record ×2 1 20 20

The top four are the reason to play this event at all. 460 Lamps buys every premium crafting material on the shelf — Polymerization Preparation is the highest-tier item available, and the other three are the mid-to-high tier bottlenecks that gate module and skill upgrades. Nothing else in the shop converts Lamps into progress at that rate.

All three Headhunting Permits for 450 Lamps is defensible if you're chasing Necrass on the Returned From A Pyre rerun. If you aren't pulling, skip them — Permits aren't scarce enough to justify a third of your budget.

The LMD trap

Two LMD entries exist, and one is 36 times worse than the other.

  • Limited: 5,000 LMD for 7 Lamps — about 714 LMD per Lamp. Stock 20, so 140 Lamps yields 100,000 LMD.
  • Infinite: 20 LMD for 1 Lamp — exactly 20 LMD per Lamp.

Buy all twenty of the limited stack. Never touch the infinite one. It exists as a sink for the last few Lamps you can't otherwise spend, not as an LMD source.

Where leftover Lamps should go

Once limited stock is cleared, three items have infinite stock:

  • Grindstone — 35 Lamps
  • Manganese Ore — 30 Lamps
  • Loxic Kohl — 25 Lamps

These are the correct dump. Pick whichever of the three your current upgrade queue actually needs — they're all mid-tier materials that normally cost real Sanity to farm.

Ignore the T1 and T2 entries — Orirock at 2, Oriron and Polyketon at 3, Sugar Pack at 8, Transmuted Salt at 12. They're cheap because they're worthless; you can farm those in your sleep.

Furniture Parts at 2 Lamps per 10, stock 200, is a 400-Lamp commitment for 2,000 Parts. Only worth it if you actively decorate.

If you played the original run

The rerun changes more than the notice suggests:

  • EA operation progress carries over, and Dying Flames operations are available from the start rather than unlocking in week two.
  • [Griefs yet to Relieve] mission progress resets, with reduced operation-clear requirements. You redo them, but they're easier.
  • [Lives Yet to Begin] resets and stocks fewer items than the original, with some substitutions.
  • Duplicate furniture converts to Intelligence Certificate at set rates.

That last one turns several shop entries into Intelligence Certificate purchases. The conversion rates aren't uniform:

Item Lamps Int. Cert Per Lamp Knot Design Carpet 40 65 1.63 Linen Tapestry 50 80 1.60 Classic Storage Cabinet 55 85 1.55 Handmade Wall Shelf 65 100 1.54 Tall Stool (With Cushion) 40 60 1.50 On the Ruins 95 140 1.47

Buy in that order if you already own the furniture. The cheapest entries pay the best rate, which is the reverse of what most people assume.

Mission rewards convert too, and some are substantial — clearing EA-3 alone returns 330 Intelligence Certificate for a veteran, and EA-EX-8 on Challenge Mode returns 150.

Don't skip the clear-count missions

Three missions pay purely for volume:

  • 10 event stage clears — 80 Lamps
  • 25 clears — 100 Lamps
  • 40 clears — 120 Lamps

300 Lamps for 40 clears, tutorial stages excluded. Since you're farming Lamps from stages anyway, these accrue passively — but 40 clears in ten days is roughly four a day, and that pace slips easily if you start late.

Two 3-star missions also pay Module Data Blocks — EA-5 and EA-8. Those are worth going back for.

The one thing you genuinely cannot get later

When the rerun ends, the event moves into the Terminal and its medals stop being obtainable through any channel. This is the last chance for anyone who missed them originally.

Check your medal list on day one. Some Path to Glory EA medals had their requirements changed, and if you already met the new condition during the original run, the medal is awarded or trimmed automatically at the start of the rerun — you may find several already banked.

Farming order

  1. Clear EA-1 through EA-8, then all eight EX stages. That's 1,230 Lamps in mission rewards before you farm anything twice.
  2. 3-star EA-5 and EA-8 for the Module Data Blocks.
  3. Grind to 40 total clears for the last 300 Lamps.
  4. Buy the four premium materials immediately — 460 Lamps, the best value in the shop.
  5. Take two or three Brigid tokens, not five.
  6. Clear the limited LMD, Skill Summaries and Battle Records.
  7. Dump the remainder into Grindstone, Manganese Ore or Loxic Kohl.
  8. Finish all farming by 6 September. Spending runs to the 10th; earning does not.

The trap in this event isn't difficulty — it's the token curve. Players who buy Brigid's fifth token first and discover the material shelf afterwards will finish the event with a marginally stronger Sniper and none of the materials that would have upgraded the operators they already use.

Build the roster the materials support

Premium crafting materials only matter when there are modules and skill levels waiting for them — and the levelled, moduled roster underneath is the slow half of any Arknights account. Browse verified Arknights accounts if you'd rather start from a developed roster, speed up material and Annihilation farming with Arknights hourly services, or clear the toughest event stages through Arknights boosting.
