Endfield Tangtang Is Back Until November 19: Is She Worth Your Pulls?
By Sir Ayup
The Tangtang rerun in Arknights: Endfield is live, and it is the first banner to use the new RE-Factor Headhunting format. Since October 29, the Cryo Caster has been back on rate-up in [Ancestral Spring Flows Anew], alongside her signature Handcannon on a matching weapon banner. The new format changes how your pulls carry over, which matters a lot if you are deciding between her, Si and the upcoming Argent Flow. At gamemarket.gg, we broke down the official banner rules, what Tangtang brings and who should pull before November 19.
Tangtang Rerun Banner Dates
Two banners run side by side:
- [Ancestral Spring Flows Anew] RE-Factor Headhunting #1: Tangtang is the rate-up 6★ operator
- [Tender Sprig Issue] RE-Factor Issue #1: the 6★ weapon Brigand's Calling (Handcannon) has an increased drop chance
Both run from October 29 at 12:00 to November 19 at 11:59 (server time). The Asia server uses UTC+8, while the Americas and Europe servers use UTC-5.
To access the banner, you need to have completed the main mission Chapter I Process I: Break the Siege. Tangtang first appeared in March on her original banner, River's Daughter, so this is the first chance to get her since then.
How RE-Factor Headhunting Works
RE-Factor is built for reruns, and its biggest difference is that progress carries over to future banners with the same name.
Guaranteed Tangtang at 120 pulls. You are guaranteed to get her within your first 120 headhunting attempts. This guarantee can trigger only once across all [Ancestral Spring Flows Anew] banners, but your attempts toward it carry over to future reruns of the same banner.
Free 10-pulls at 30, 60 and 90. After 30, 60 and 90 attempts, you receive 10 bonus Urgent Recruitment attempts each time, which works out to one free 10× pull per milestone. This bonus also triggers only once across the banner series, and any unused Urgent Recruitment attempts carry over.
Token Tribute every 240 pulls. For every 240 attempts across all [Ancestral Spring Flows Anew] banners, you receive one Tangtang's Token. Your count toward this carries over as well.
In practice, this means pulls you make now are not wasted if you fall short. If Tangtang returns on another [Ancestral Spring Flows Anew] banner later, your progress toward the 120-pull guarantee and the milestone rewards will still be there.
Brigand's Calling Weapon Banner
The [Tender Sprig Issue] banner follows two separate guarantees:
- Any 6★ weapon on the 4th issue if you have not received one in three consecutive issues. This guarantee is limited to this banner only and does not carry over, even to future [Tender Sprig Issue] banners.
- Rate-up 6★ weapon on the 8th issue if Brigand's Calling has not appeared in the first seven issues. This guarantee triggers once across the banner series, and its progress does carry over.
Reaching certain issue counts also rewards Arms OC: Tender Sprig or Brigand's Calling in alternating order, with progress carried over to future Tender Sprig banners.
What Tangtang Brings to a Team
Tangtang is a 6★ Cryo Caster who wields a Handcannon. Her kit revolves around creating Whirlpools and turning them into Waterspouts that apply Cryo Infliction, deal area damage and inflict Arts Susceptibility on enemies.
That combination gives her three jobs at once: applying Cryo for reactions, making enemies take more Arts damage and contributing steady damage as a sub-DPS. Her ultimate can also briefly immobilize enemies in its area, adding crowd control to the mix.
Early guides pair her with Si, Yvonne or Last Rite, and Arcane or Xaihi for Cryo and Arts-focused teams. For a full breakdown of her skills, potentials and gear, our Tangtang build guide covers how to set her up as a Cryo control sub-DPS.
Do You Need Brigand's Calling?
Brigand's Calling is her signature Handcannon and the strongest pick for her, but it is not required to make her work.
Reported alternatives include Home Longing from the Protocol Pass and Opus: The Living, a free 5★ option. If your budget is tight, most players secure Tangtang first and decide on the weapon later. The weapon banner runs on the same schedule, so there is time to see how she performs in your team before committing.
Tangtang vs Si vs Argent Flow
The timing of this rerun makes the choice harder, because three 6★ options overlap:
- Si is still on rate-up until November 5
- Tangtang runs until November 19
- Argent Flow arrives on November 5
Si and Tangtang appear together in several suggested Cryo teams, so players building around Cryo may want both. Argent Flow is a different kind of unit, a mounted guard, and appeals more to players who need a frontline damage dealer. Our Sanctuary of Ink guide to Si and Argent Flow compares the two version 1.6 operators in detail.
Should You Pull for Tangtang?
Pull if you run a Cryo or Arts team, especially one built around Last Rite, Yvonne or Xaihi, or if you missed her in March. The carry-over guarantee makes this rerun lower-risk than a regular limited banner.
Wait if you are torn between her and Argent Flow. Tangtang stays until November 19, while Argent Flow arrives on November 5, so you can see both before spending heavily.
Skip if your roster leans on single-target Physical damage and you have no plans for a Cryo core. Her strengths come through in teams that make use of Cryo Infliction and Arts Susceptibility.
If you need more Oroberyl before deciding, the Forest of Maras challenge is reported to offer 1,200 Oroberyl and runs until November 5. Save what you can, check your team needs and decide before November 19.
