How to Unlock Forest of Maras
You need to meet two requirements:
- Clear the main mission Chapter I Process II: Paving the Way
- Reach Endministrator Authority Level 30
Once both are done, Umbral Monument opens as a permanent mode, and the Forest of Maras event becomes available during its run.
How Umbral Monument Works
Umbral Monument is Endfield's permanent challenge mode, and each new series adds a fresh set of stages with their own mechanics.
- Goal: defeat every enemy, usually in waves
- Time limit: 10 minutes per stage
- Agony mode: every stage also has a harder version that strengthens the stage mechanic, raises enemies to level 90 and bans Usables, so you cannot rely on items for healing or buffs
The stages stay in the game permanently. The Monumental Etching event is the limited-time layer on top, rewarding you for clearing them while it runs.
What to Expect From the Missions
The exact mission list for Forest of Maras has not been published yet. Earlier Monumental Etching events followed a similar pattern:
- Clear each new stage in Normal mode
- Deal a set amount of total damage to enemies in the new series and in Umbral Monument overall
- Challenge stages several times
- Attempt a stage in Agony mode at least once
If Forest of Maras follows the same structure, most of the Oroberyl will come from clearing the stages and from repeat attempts, so even players who cannot beat Agony can still collect a large share of the rewards. The Umbral Monument stages from October 5 used the same 1,200 Oroberyl reward structure, so the pattern is a useful guide.
How to Prepare Before October 22
Hit Authority Level 30 now. If you are close, finish it before the event opens so you do not lose any days.
Build a balanced squad. Umbral Monument stages each have their own gimmick, so a team that covers both damage and sustain adapts better than one built only for burst.
Bring your own healing. Agony mode bans Usables, which means healing and buffs must come from your Operators.
Level up for the new series. Agony pushes enemies to level 90, so upgrade your main squad's Operators, weapons and gear before you try it.
