Arena Breakout: Infinite Melee-Only TV Station — Eight Days Left, and the 200,000 Koen Problem

Melee-Only Combat at the TV Station closes on 6 September, and it only runs Thursday through Sunday. From today, that leaves eight playable days: 27–30 August, then 3–6 September. Not three weeks. Eight days.

And the entry floor is no longer what it was. MoreFun permanently raised the minimum entry requirement from 150,000 Koen to 200,000 Koen in the 30 July patch. The mode disables firearms — it does not disable the cost of walking in.

The scheduling trap

Thursday to Sunday only, 13 August – 6 September.

This is the detail that catches people, and it's structural rather than accidental. If your play week is Monday to Wednesday, the mode is simply not available to you. There is no catch-up window, no weekday overflow.

Two blocks remain. Thursday 27 August through Sunday 30 August, and Thursday 3 September through Sunday 6 September. Plan around those two blocks or don't plan at all.

Why the entry requirement went up

150,000 → 200,000 Koen, permanent.

The developer's stated reasoning was that the old threshold let zero-to-hero runners risk too little while extracting too much — the entry cost was low enough that a bad raid barely registered, while a good one paid out disproportionately.

Raising the floor restores the risk side of the equation. That's the thing to internalise before you queue: this is not a free novelty mode. Every run puts 200,000 Koen of kit on the table, and you are defending it with a blade.

Which means the mode rewards a different discipline than it looks like it does. Melee combat reads as chaotic and low-stakes. The economics say otherwise. Extraction discipline matters more here than kill count.

What melee-only actually changes

Firearms are disabled entirely. No long-range engagements, no gear-tier advantage in a firefight, no scope or ammunition arithmetic.

What replaces it is positioning, timing, movement and nerve. In a game built around gear advantage and range, stripping both out is the great equaliser — the player with the better kit does not automatically win the fight.

Map knowledge does the work instead. Melee-only rewards knowing the TV Station's common engagement points and extract routes before you load in, not after. Study the routes on a normal raid day if you can; you can't practise them Monday through Wednesday.

Stamina management is the skill most people underrate. Sprinting into a fight you then can't finish is the most common way to donate 200,000 Koen.

The rewards

Tickets and Koen, per the event material. Free tickets come from logging in — claim them from the event page whether or not you intend to play that day.

That's the honest read: this is a novelty mode with modest payouts, not a farming engine. It's worth playing because it's fun and different, and because the tickets are free. It is not worth playing to fund your season.

Where it sits in the festival

Melee-Only is one of eight tracks in the Kamona Summer Festival, each closing on a different date between 26 August and 16 September. The Supply Passes Giveaway carries the real value — 1.5 million Koen for 10 Supply Passes per exchange, across two pools.

Our Kamona Summer Festival calendar lists every track in order of what expires first. Melee-Only sits in the middle of that list — closing before the Warlord Tournament on 13 September and the Summer Showdown on 16 September.

Order your remaining fortnight by expiry, not by interest. Melee-Only closes first among the long-running tracks, and it only accepts you four days a week.

What to do with eight days

  1. Claim your login tickets now, regardless of whether you play today.
  2. Block out 27–30 August and 3–6 September. Those are the only windows left.
  3. Budget the 200,000 Koen honestly. If losing that kit twice would hurt your season, run fewer raids and extract earlier.
  4. Learn the TV Station's extract routes before you queue, not during.
  5. Treat kills as optional. The mode pays tickets and Koen — extraction is the objective, not the scoreboard.

The mode isn't hard to access. It's just narrow. Four days a week, two weeks left, and a floor that now costs real money to cross.

Fund the raids without farming for them

A 200,000 Koen entry floor across a two-week event adds up fast, and rebuilding a stash after a bad run is the slow half of any Arena Breakout account.
